I think I originaly read this somewhere on the DIS - but I have been following the advice for a few years now - ALWAYS use more than one memory card! I swap mine every couple of days - sometimes more often. It is possible for a card to get damaged/scrambled/etc, you could lose your camera or it could be stolen, and so on. Having multiple cards helps insure that you can't lose ALL your photos. I keep one card in the camera, one spare in the bag and all others at the stateroom or hotel. Since I know I will be doing this, I don't bother to spend the $$ on big memory cards - even my older 256MB ones aren't bad. My newer ones are usually 1GB just because there are a lot of good deals out there.

We have booked 2 nights (Fri & Sat) at the HoJo. We will fly in on Friday and spend Sat at DL. We'll go to the port from there on Sunday - a DIS group bus would be a blast!

I don't think I have ever run into ANYONE else who has even heard of Bonnie Koloc (other than my mother). I have seen her in concert a couple times and really enjoy her voice.

We joke about this in our town now. A little over a year ago our new water plant came on-line and our tap water is now "purer" than most bottled water! It tastes great and we keep joking that the town could keep taxes down by getting into the bottled water business - just bottle it up at the plant and ship it out! :rotfl: (The reason for this is that there is a very small amount of radium in our well water here. It is actually so small that some scientists have set that you would pick up more natural radium from sitting on the ground having a picnic than you would get from our water. However, the EPA sets their standards for things like radium based on what they can measure - as the measurment techniques got better, they kept reducing how much was allowed. It finally got to the point that the only way to comply with EPA regulations was to build this plant or switch to Lake Michigan water which would have cost us even more.)

OK folks - I didn't finish the ketchup this evening. I'm still about 20 pages behind. Maybe I'll have time to do it tomorrow - I spent a chunck of this evening helping DS7 finish his report on a "famous american". Guess who he picked from the list his teacher gave the class? Walt Disney! See, I'm training him well!!! :rotfl2: Anyway - I'm just too tired to finish tonight - see ya'll tomorrow....

pdarrah (Pamela)

You'll have to let us know what he gets on his report.

Why couldn't you get off because of your job?

It's not that I couldn't get off the ship because of the job...I can do whatever I want. The issue has to do with the requirements of the job--one of which has to do with security clearances--loose the clearance, loose the job. Let's put it this way, I worked with a guy who went on a trip, reported it in advance and heard nothing to the contrary from Security. Then, upon returning, he filed a post-trip forms and mentioned a slight deviation--a side trip to another country that wasn't on the original itinerary. Yeah, they pulled his access to certain areas until everything was vetted and cleared...with the warning that if it happened again, they'd boot him altogether.

Well, a vacation sure shouldn't be a reason to loose a job. Hopefully, you will be able to........

It was really nice to chat with a few of you tonight. I am always in a circle going back and forth. :rotfl2: I do think I am going to turn in.

Goodnight everyone. Let's all have a better day tomorrow.
