While talking with a friend yesterday I realized that our mortgage will be paid off when we go on this cruise!!! Instead of a mortgage burning party...too bad we can't tear it up & throw it overboard.

PLEASE KNOW THAT I KNOW THAT THIS VIOLATES MARITIME LAW AND I WOULD NEVER EVER DO THIS...JUST DAY DREAMING ABOUT IT.

Yeah, I do already have a list of people I need to hide from when I get to the ship. BIP is easy -- avoid the red s***. Magiroux, I know, so I can hide from her. O'Blender will be a bit tougher.

You have brought up a very good point here. I don't think that we realize how much what we say influences our kids even when we aren't talking directly to them. I consciously try not to get on the scale or talk about dieting or losing weight around them. DD was already told in Kindergarten that she is fat. OY! I was so upset and although she doesn't say it as much, she will mention it occassionally. It was hard for me to tell her that she wasn't fat...the girls telling her that were just sticks.

My kids would never say such a thing because they are beautiful and smart and they KNOW IT. What I may say on this and other boards (that they do not read) and amongst my adult friends/etc. is no indication of what I would say within earshot/etc. of my children. Trying to break the low self-esteem cycle here... yanno? THIS momma and daddy are making sure our kids grow up to think very highly of themselves... instead of the opposite.

I appreciate all the comments and well wishes. I assure you that I did not say that to get compliments out of people- just stating the facts as I see them and know them to be true. It's very sweet of all of you but unnecessary. Nothing you say or do is going to change the facts.. thanks though.

Oh and btw I have an appt tomorrow morning at 9:20am, not that I think they can really do anything about it but we'll see if they can figure out if it is Bell's palsy or what. My right is NOT blinking all the way without major effort to do so (DH said it was but then my eldest DD said it wasn't all the way so I made DH REALLY look this time and he agreed with her), and my jaw/around my right ear is hurting too. I'm not sure if that's because I'm trying to overcompensate with other muscles or what. I won't go into all the gory details but it sucks. That's all I can say about it. And I hope it goes away..
