Crash,

The questions is, what percent of the posters here are Swabbies? I bet the Wenches have us 2:1, so 30.6% given the odds isn't too bad.

Do have a question regarding the recap, the "first pirate for the Swabbies in a while", does that mean since 35,000? Was it not a Swabbie who won that one?

I dunno...

... I'm pluggin' along about 40 pages back tryin' to catch up a bit. It's not so bad except I keep gettin' interrupted... and I know I'll never keep this up long term... but I'm a swabie on a mission and I'm trying. And as fer being out numbered 2:1... I suspected so much... but I am not tryin' to make any excuses (not to say you are) ... but we should make a good ol' effort to catch the Wenches! It makes fer a little fun to try at least... and certainly it makes fer a little fun to complain.

hi all! gonna try to pop in here today during naptime...i could really use a nap myself! so i'm hoping the boards here will help me stay awake!
it was a very long nite last nite...my gpa had a ruptured anyeurism (spelling?) on sat morning. they did surgery, and it looked to be like he was doing ok. they expected the surgery to last for 6 hrs, it only lasted 4! they thought he'd be on a resp for weeks...he was off it in 2 days! well, yesterday he had some major setbacks. his lungs and heart were doing very well...very strong! but yesterday afternoon, his heart stopped...but he's tough and stubborn and the docs got him going again! last nite was another story...his heart kept giving out numerous times, and they've had to put him back on the vent. he's not looking good, and we were at the hosp from midnite til after 3 this am. at least he's stable today...and he's a stubborn and strong old man!! which is good for his fighting chances! please keep him in your prayers!

Sending prayers his way. See there is a good reason to be stubborn!!!!

I knew it.

This is exactly why my Mom went to Staples and bought a box of sticky labels. She is labelling who get what. The three of us know that if we dare fight over something, she will be back to haunt us.

My brothers and I are doing that in my dad's house...he doesn't know about it.:lmao:

DW's grandma is a spry old lady :thumbsup2 She has 3 granddaughters and only DW lives far away (as in across the country). The other 2 live in the same small town! So is it any wonder that Nana laments to DW that she hardly sees the other 2 and they don't even bother to call?!! :sad2: DW calls her every Sunday afternoon and they yack up a storm.

Anyway, Nana did the sticker thing but only on large items or things she still needs...smaller items are offered to the grandkids whenever they come by. DW knows that you NEVER EVER turn down something proffered by The Nana! For if you do, you'll never be offered anything again! This is why most everything Nana has will come to DW--like we have the space :sad2: because Nana knows that DW will care for them and not just hock them (like the authentic Rookwood vase collection).

Well these Pirates be wearing Black ....and August is not that bad in Ca as it is in Vegas ...So maybe we might be considered Goth Pirates ....:lmao: :lmao: :lmao: all 600 of us :lmao: :lmao:

pirate:

I dunno, I'm fresh out of black eye liner!

My mom's husband was admitted to the hospital Monday for some prostate problems. They did surgery on him today and my mom just called to say that he is currently on a ventilator. They have called in a pulmonary specialist and she is waiting for some news. Please say a few prayers for them.

Sending all our hopes and prayers your way...

Hi all, first a Joke for the Capt'n

THE GOOD-BYE LETTER

Quote:
A father passing by his son's bedroom was astonished to see the bed was nicely made and everything was picked up. Then he saw an envelope propped up prominently on the pillow. It was addressed "Dad." With the worst premonition, he opened the envelope and read the letter with trembling hands.
"Dear Dad,
It is with great regret and sorrow that I'm writing you. I had to elope with my new girlfriend because I wanted to avoid a scene with Mom and you. I've been finding real passion with Stacy, and she is so nice, but I knew you would not approve of her because of all her piercings, tattoos, her tight Motorcycle clothes, and because she is so much older than I am. But it's not only the passion... Dad she's pregnant.
Stacy said that we will be very happy. She owns a trailer in the woods, and has a stack of firewood for the whole winter. We share a dream of having many more children.
Stacy has opened my eyes to the fact that marijuana doesn't really hurt anyone. We'll be growing it for ourselves and trading it with the other people in the commune for all the cocaine and ecstasy we want.
In the meantime we'll pray that science will find a cure for AIDS so Stacy can get better. She sure deserves it!! Don't worry Dad, I'm 15, and I know how to take care of myself. Someday I'm sure we'll be back to visit, so you can get to know your grandchildren.
Love, your son,
John.
PS. Dad, none of the above is true. I'm over at Tommy's house. I just wanted to remind you that there are worse things in life than the report card that's in my center desk drawer. I love you! Call when it is safe for me to come home.
:figment:

Oh my, how appropriate today! My twin DSs 8th grade 4.0 ceremony was today and I was lamenting about the fact that since they both got a B in Spanish they didn't get both the scholarship and citizenship award, only citizenship. I have forwarded this to all my friends with boys, thanks for bringing me back to reality :goodvibes

I'm guessing that you, as a Vegas resident, must spend enough time in our fair city (Los Angeles, that is) to know that only goths wear black in August! Nothing against goths, whom I always find to be the most interesting subjects by far while people watching at Disneyland, but there is a generally a good reason to avoid black at that time of the year.

:scared1: Ummm.. there have been over 5,000 posts dedicated to this subject alone. Very touchy topic.

My first car (in 1991...I had to wait until I was 18 because I had to buy it myself) was a 1982 Buick Skylark. I was SO proud of that car. I drove it for 3 years before it just wouldn't run anymore...:lmao:

I miss Olga's too.....I would always get the 3-cheese olga with onions. My mom and sister also love the Peasant soup. I wish they would move a franchise down this way. They would make a killing!

Speaking of great restaurants....Does anyone have an Abuelo's near them? I believe it started in Texas. BIP....have you heard of it? Oh man...it is sooooo good. It our favorite place to go to dinner.

We went to Abuelo's when we were in Morrow, near King's Island. I loved it. Mark doesn't care much for it, so might never go again but it was really good.

Going out to dinner tonight and I hope I remember to tape Survivor......anyone know of Texas De Brazil? If one opens near you or if you ever want a great meal in Orlando this is your place. Wonderful!!!!

Been to the one in Addison! Haven't tried the Denver location yet. We also had a churrascaria in NM called Asado. Kinda cool having servers roaming around with skewers of perfectly grilled meat at the ready! :goodvibes:

I'm thinking you could get a pretty good tan in the next 17 months. Maybe some sunscreen would be in order.

oooh! I found some great material on some of those sites. That's what I have been dooing all afternoon. Thanks again.:)
