But they don't understand that planning every nanosecond is part of the fun for "people like us". Planning is the cake, the vacation is the cherry on top!

I know - I told him he could stay in the room.

Ok, actually we got in Feb 13, but I have been busy at work and haven't had time to post. We were a little late to the game, hadn't realized this was coming out (or that it would sell out so quickly) so we started trying Feb 1 and got a place two weeks later, thanks in large part to the efforts of Bob at Dreams Unlimited (thanks for hanging in there for us!) Cruisers will be me, dh, dd (then 12) and ds (then 10). I will never be able to read back through all the prior posts (or keep up with them at the rate they are coming!) but wanted to say we feel very fortunate to have gotten a space onboard and are looking forward to the trip of a lifetime!

Welcome Aboard ratfam & family!!!! Nice to meet you!

It's 11pm and this Cinderella turns into a pumpkin then. So on that note, I'm gonna call it a night.

See ya on the flip side!

Oh - MR? I bought 2 floor tickets to The Police at Citizens Bank Stadium in Philly today - think I see an ebay listing in my future.

Great analogy.

I like cake.

Is that really what the Friends of Bill so and so on the navigators? It's a DIS AA meeting? I always wondered about that . . :rotfl:

Friends of Bill W is actually code for AA, so we decided 20,000 posts back that we would deal with our overplanning, binder wielding compulsions by holding Friends of Lisa G meetings onboard.

Ours will likely have better beverages.

And perhaps cake.

Yes you are...in the 9 GTYs & will be on page 19 of the family bios. :confused3

Scary that I couldn't even find my own name .. .let alone looked for my own name . ..:rotfl:And I'm working on the website . . .pretty scary . . .

Hi, I am Vanetta and am trying to get on this cruise. We are DVC members and hoping that space will come available before this ship sets sail in Aug. 2008. I am friends with Cinderella Mom and family.

Welcome Vanetta and good luck getting a cabin!! :thumbsup2

At the viewing when my Mom passed almost 8 years ago, my Grandmother was very close to being diagnosed with Alzheimers, only very few members of the family knew that at the time. I was NOT one of those blessed with that information  Imagine my surprise when my Grandmother walked up to the casket and in her infamous "Irish-Whisper" started scolding my Mom and telling her to get her *self* up and knock this *s$!t* off :sad2:

:grouphug: :grouphug: :grouphug: That must have been extremely shocking for many there. :grouphug:

And better attended.

Since 1/3 of the passengers will be DIS, and we'll have several dining rooms to ourselves - it'll probably even be listed in the Navigator. :rotfl:

I can hear Lisa on the phone now. "Hello. I'd like to do some planning for our group?" "Lovely, how many are in your group?" "Six hundred and ninty-two."

My mom's husband was admitted to the hospital Monday for some prostate problems. They did surgery on him today and my mom just called to say that he is currently on a ventilator. They have called in a pulmonary specialist and she is waiting for some news. Please say a few prayers for them.

Paula, they will be in my prayers. :grouphug:

White Long Johns? Aren't they these???

Hey, where did you get the photo of me????????? :lmao: :lmao: :lmao:

Well Andy, even though there is a striking resemblance..........I think he's got better knees :rotfl: :rotfl:

After all our parties on Secret Deck 7 on our TOAL us Friends of Lisa G may very well wind up Friends of Bill W :rotfl: :rotfl:

Had the wedding over Memorial Day weekend, and baptised DS9 the same weekend a year later. The original plan was to have the two of them 3 years apart. But we were rebuilding a house at the time and it was a dumb time to have a baby. So, they're 4 years 5 months apart - and I'm glad we waited. I was - what? 37? When the youngest was born. I'm thinking that's about as late as you'd want - otherwise retirement and college start bumping into each other.

I feel the same way. DH & I didn't meet until we were 27 & 26. Got engaged & married at 30. DS born at 31. DD born at 33. I told DH that I didn't want another child after 36...and that is gone. College and retirement are things to consider, though we are not waiting until we retire to do things.

oops I just read that John already posted the history of the sprinkle & jimmies. That's what I get for being behind. Sorry another groundhog! I went back & took it out.

Ah the length....

DD had her communion in Mid May that year... Back then we lived in a small town in PA where the extent of communion dresses was whatever was in Walmart or catalog at JCPenney. In February that year we took a drive to a David's bridal and found a really nice Flower girl dress (hers was a 14 i think).

It was longer than we wanted but i waited until a couple weeks before the ceremony to have it hemmed by a local seamstress. She was growing (i mean still is) like a weed.

I can't wait to get DD's. :) You will all see it since it will be her formal dress for the princess night. princess:

First car -

DH: '71 Nova, which he totalled within 6 months, then he drove a 2-tone green '73 Mercury Monarch (held roughly 23 high school students)

Me: '87 Mercury Cougar XR-7 Turbo (this was '88)

Yeah, we grew up on different sides of the tracks.

My first car (with DH, then DBF) a 1974 Pinto Station Wagon. It was powder blue and I put a bumper sticker on it that said I Heart General Hospital. Those were the days! That car saw alot of action...........just don't hit us in the rear or we would have exploded :scared1: :scared1: Sure glad that didn't happen.

OH We need a video of that for the web site! We can post it next to the Captain ironing.
