And no, I didn't cheat and look ahead, if it has already been revealed.

Who on earth is this most wanted Theresa that everyone is looking for?

A friend of ours is a HALO jump master. Now, he's weird. Who on earth would want to jump out of a plane at something like 20,000 feet?

It's only that last foot that matters....

2 thoughts while reading that:

1. Climbing into crab apple trees and playing a game where the object was to knock the other kids out of the tree by pelting them with crab apples.

2. Building elaborate ramps (scrap wood & 3 rusty nails) to jump our bikes off of while our friends laid on the ground in front of the ramp so we could jump over them! The only safety measure was fighting over who was going to be the last kid in the line laying on the ground!

And I had a 'good' Mom!

Oooh...never did the crab apple game.

Oh - don't tell my kids. In the Kindergarten yard they have 1-kid and 2-kid trees. I can just see them loading up their pockets with rocks (all 5 year olds carry rocks in their pockets - don't they?) and pitching them at each other.

And that ramp trick is just the sort of thing DS9 would go for... with little brother at the end of the ramp.

In high school, I played water polo on an otherwise all-boy team. League Director then asked me to start a girl's team. I made up a "Dream Team". After that first season of totally kicking booty, there wasn't another girl's team in the state who would play against us.
It's a tough sport. No hookers or handbags.

So tonight, DD4 comes out of swimming, sits down next to me and says "I love you father". I burst out laughing and no one could understand why that was so funny and I had to explain this post.

I'm assuming 'father' is part of her British addiction.

We did a cruise to Alaska in 2005. The highlight of his trip was to get to fly right seat in the Beaver float plane we took the tour in out of Ketchican. The pilot ate lunch while he flew us back. She did the landing through. It was a great time!

Float planes are cool. We could see the airport (lake) in Kodiak out our front windows when we lived there. I've only spent a few hours in Ketch. We got off the ferry to walk around. 5 days on the ferry ain't no cruise - we were getting stir crazy!

Heck anyone can fly a plane once it is up in the air, it's just the takeoff and landing you need some skill for.

Float planes are cool. We could see the airport (lake) in Kodiak out our front windows when we lived there. I've only spent a few hours in Ketch. We got off the ferry to walk around. 5 days on the ferry ain't no cruise - we were getting stir crazy!

Ah well, she had a bunch of paying passengers in the back. She wasn't about to let some guy she'd just met do the hard stuff.

Though he did give us a bumpy ride at first. It was kind of funny listening to her as she handed over the controls. "OK, so the Beaver flies like a Mac Truck."

When I asked DH how it was at the end he said - "It handled like a Mac Truck." Still she signed on on his log book - 0.5 hours in the Beaver Dehavilland.

He wants to go back there - I think just to fly with her. She was one of the few pilots who actually landed during the tour - and let you get off and walk around. Incredible scenery. I'd go back in a heartbeat.

We charted a float plane in Alaska to tour...
