Now for my GS story..............
I told Brooke this needed to be a cash vacation and this would also be first time for her being able to sign her name to charge things. We saw Brent everyday always with a smile. Even if another GS was helping us he made a point to talk with us. Asked about our day joked with Brooke about signing her name alot.

Well middle of cruise a nice card came in our fish mail to Brooke. He drew mickey ears on it and even typed her name on inside of card. He gave her a 10.00 arcade card just to make her cruise a little bit more fun & magical. Here is a picture of Brooke & Brent.

Brent was our "personal concierge" when DD was married at Castaway Cay. Such a great guy. I hadn't seen him or been on the Wonder until the 11 Night cruise last September...and he remembered me!!

Hmmm...not sure if that's a good thing...

Great list Esteri - especially the getting dirty part!

Okay, now this isn't a must have but a must do! DO NOT, I repeat, DO NOT keep the house quiet as tomb when baby is sleeping - vacuum, play the radio, use the blow dryer. Get the baby used to sleeping through noise early on!

OMG we are SUCH horrible parents! :rotfl: First, DW and I didn't keep the house quiet as a tomb...actually, we played his CD player during naptimes. One of his favorite CDs? A disc that had various household noises...vacuum cleaner, washer & dryer, white noise etc! Our neighbors, however, kept the house totally silenced during their youngest DD's naps.

They also boiled the water to sterilize it for her bottles! We used either water from the fridge's filter or Nursery Water which is pretty much Dasani but with flouride added back in (regular bottled water isn't flouridated).

Oh yeah, we were really horrible...we NEVER heated his bottles!! It was just room temp...because guess what? Never having a heated bottle meant that he never got pissed at us for NOT having a heated bottle when one wasn't available like when traveling or in a store etc! :thumbsup2 We were flying to PHL once and the flight attendant offered to warm his bottle using the hot water dispenser they use for coffee. DW say "No thanks, he take it cold!" The FA was astounded that we got him trained like that and wished her DD would take a cold bottle.

Can't say about the Bag Balm for diaper rash. We used cloth diapers and the ONLY time he got diaper rash were the few times we went with the disposables. Actually it got so bad that the doc prescribed, get this, BUTT PASTE! ROFL it's an Aquafor based ointment that has to be specially mixed by the pharmacist (there's a different formula for boys vs. girls). Anyway, you can imagine TSA's displeasure with these little tubes of ointment that show up as something nefarious on the scanners...especially when the pharmacy label simply says "Butt Paste" :rotfl: :lmao: :rotfl:

A former coworker (26, single, female, first job, never lived away from mommy & daddy--not even when going to college) made the statement that she thinks ADD/ADHD is just a bunch of crap and clearly these kids just need to be told "no" and have their butts spanked! That'll straighten them out! :headache:

said in my best Tom "freako" Cruise voice....."She is so glib!"

We did this for ds when he was born because my late FIL was not circumcised and had health problems later in life because of this. My husband watched them perform it to make sure they didn't "take too much off the top." lol!

That's hysterical!! And yet I have a strange pain in a part I don't even have! :rotfl:

Hi Everyone :wave2:

party: :bday: :bday: Happy Birthday Christine :bday: :bday: party:

Between vacation, GS Cookie Mom and getting a new baby (6 weeks old) :cloud9:  :cloud9: addition to my daycare (she's on her own schedule, which means no break for me during the day), I feel hopelessly out of the loop with this cruise meet thread :sad1: :sad1: . I am trying to keep up as best as I can, but my prority right now is with my DD's GS Troop and a little Angel named, Eva May   :cloud9: . It always amazes me how quickly you fall hopelessly in love with someone else's child. Words just can't describe..........

Tina - I saw some of the photos you posted and wanted to say...how Magical for your DD. Thank you for sharing your Magic.

Judy - Julia loves the book you recommended. It was a bit difficult read for her in the beginning (she had to start it over), but she loves it now and is very much into it.

J.R. - Just wanted to say :wave2: . Your posts ALWAYS make me giggle. Thanks for the laugh!!

I have to get going with the dishes and am off to a PTO Meeting. We have a new Superintendant and I guess there are BIG changes-a-coming and I don't want to miss out on hearing them first hand.

OK, this is totally off topic but I have to tell someone who might actually appreciate it....

DH got up at 3 am this morning and called WDW dining. We're doing 10 days at WDW this coming August.

And he scores - yes - the Chefs Table at Victoria and Alberts. We've been wanting to do this since reading the review in the Wall Street Journal. He's so excited - it's the only thing he really wanted to do this trip.

That's AWESOME! :thumbsup2

I walked around the Financial district down broadway all the way to times sq, one day, also walked to Chinatown, greenwich village.

Helicopter tour around the island of manhatten and I did go to the top of the WTC as well as the Empire state.

Loved it.

I don't think I could go to the top of the ESB. I don't really like elevators all that much and I don't think I could get on the express one. We did go there one time to see DH's friend who was working there. Can't remember the floor, but I swear I could feel the building "sway.":rolleyes1

I wish I knew as much now as I did when I was 26. :lmao:

Helloooooooooo Everyone!!!! Happy Tuesday!!!

Just home from work and I'm gonna go ketchup!

Hope you all had a great day!

we're gonna need to get some fries to go with all of the ketchup aroung here

The family went to Costa Rica last year to visit DH's family. I had to stay on for work, so DH was traveling with DS5 alone. (DS9 was traveling with his grandparents.) There's all sorts of paperwork he had to carry to take DS5 out of the country (and back in) with only one parent. Anyway....

They're returning to the US. At passport control the officer checks their passports, and the paperwork. Stands up and peers over the counter at DS5. (who was then 4) "Son, where is your father?" Big eyes. Thoughtful silence. "Who is your father?" Thoughful silence. "Are you traveling with your father?" Thoughtful silence continues. DH is starting to get a bit concerned at this point thinking DS5 is going to come up with "God" or "Heaven". DS5 is thinking too hard. Yet, he knows that he can't look concerned since that will trigger the officer to be concerned. The officer is starting to look a bit frustrated. DH quietly, and calmly says "Try 'Daddy'." "Son, who is your Daddy?" Index finger comes out and points at DH. "Thank you sir, you may go."

I am guessing they have become more concerned lately?? DH has taken a kid or two by himself out of the country a few times and never had any problems.:confused3 I think the last time was 3 years ago.

you are so funny:lmao: you remind me so much of my Dsil she is scared to death of heights, flying even our nascar seats were to high for her

:lmao: :lmao: :lmao: :lmao:

I heard on the radio yesterday (Kaiser commercial) that laughing for 15 minutes burns 40 calories, and offers all sort of other healthful benefits.

You guys are now officially part of my weight loss program.
Now, if I can just figure out how to reduce the intake....

Have a healthy lifestyle - join DIS!!

It's the perfect come back to our spouses - who think we're nuts!

:thumbsup2 Works for me!:yay:

Maybe it's just my Southern California childhood but I've never understood the appeal of NYC...first of all, I do understand that I come from "Car Culture" and that's prolly my biggest complaint: I don't want to have to ride a friggin' train or bus to get to where I want to be! Nor do I wasn to PAY somebody to drive me there! So I guess that and the 5 BILLION poeple piled on top of each makes me nervous.

One of my favorite things about living in NYC is that I walk almost everywhere -- my girls to school and back, to work, to church, to shop, etc. If I can't walk, I take the subway and don't mind it in the least. My least favorite way to get around is in a taxi because of the traffic, so I rarely do it. It is an entirely different culture than a "car culture" -- I can go months without being in a car, and I truly love it that way.

Different strokes for different folks!! Isn't that what makes our country great!!

Well I wouldn't want to live there, because I don't want to continue living in the NE at all since it's too damn cold, but I love to vist NY & I just love New Yorkers & New Jerseyans too!:thumbsup2
