OK - Here's Esteri's list of the stuff you really do need to have for babies...

Auto Detailing Towels (get a bag of 25, or more) at Walmart or Costco. Don't like white? A box of RIT will take care of that. Good for burping, drool, bib, emergency diaper, urp, spilled juice, messy faces, messy hands, and a host of other things. Don't leave home without three. And when they get older? Convert them to cleaning the house! Very handy.

Disposable bottles (from my DH) He figured he'd get stuck washing the bottles and didn't want to. In practice they were very practical. No need to carry around multiple bottles - just carry one holder and a bunch of liners.

Bag Balm Nothing cures diaper rash faster. It's becoming more mainstream so you can find it at Walgreens and the like. But if you get stuck - check the pets section. Most pet stores will carry it in the horse section.

My aunt asked her pediatrician how long the whole thing about sterilizing bottles and nipples lasted. His response? "Until the second kid." Don't start - if the dishwasher is good enough for you, it's good enough for baby. They're a lot tougher than manufacturers of baby stuff would like you to think. Same thing with the laundry. You don't really need a different soap unless or until your baby shows signs of being sensitive.

And finally, let them play in the dirt, crawl on the floor, etc. It exercises the immune system and helps prevent allergies and asthma. Yeup - medical studies show it. Those are first world diseases - low rates of occurance in the second world. And the only real difference they could find was the amount of "germs" the kids bumped into on a daily basis. So - let your kid get dirty! They're a lot tougher than we give them credit for. ;)

:lmao: :rotfl2: :rotfl: :lmao: :rotfl2: :rotfl: :lmao: :rotfl2: :rotfl:

This is very true AND very amusing!:rotfl:

I'm back, time to play ketchup until it's time to hit the hay. :lmao:

Hello Everyone !
Remember me ?:rolleyes1 I am the one who used to be in the top 10 but dropped down the um well that doesn't matter now.:rolleyes1 I have only been able to read the " ketchups " on page 1.

I wen't to Chicago then came home to get ready for our mother & daughter cruise on the wonder. Lots of yummy pictures to follow in the coming days.:rotfl2:

Don't know if it was just this cruise or not but thought I would mention it.........DD just got her passport and we tried to drop it off at guest services to get it stamped, we were told they no longer do that.:sad2: Brent from GS told us where we could go in the bahamas to get it stamped. Boy was that a experience. Talk about not being friendly. Brent on the other hand well that is another story.:) He was the best and we saw him everyday and did something special for DD.

Also my DD had a magical moment on cruise, will tell about that and post pics in a min. Next to my wedding cruise this was the best cruise ever.

Sounds like you had a blast!!:thumbsup2 I never knew they would stamp your passport.:confused3

OK, this is totally off topic but I have to tell someone who might actually appreciate it....

DH got up at 3 am this morning and called WDW dining. We're doing 10 days at WDW this coming August.

And he scores - yes - the Chefs Table at Victoria and Alberts. We've been wanting to do this since reading the review in the Wall Street Journal. He's so excited - it's the only thing he really wanted to do this trip.

Congrats!! :yay: :cheer2: :dance3: :cool1: Of course we will get a full report when you return.;)

Brooke's magical moment.............we were waiting behind the ropes to disembark for Castaway. Brooke & I were discussing the clues to find the buried treasure. I had asked officer Bob about clue # 1. He smiled said he wasn't really supposed to say anything. He left, couple min later comes back and asks how many in our party? We told him 2 he said come with me. We went underneath the ropes and out the door to the gangway !! He made Brooke an honorary security officer.:goodvibes Brooke learned how to use the exray machine which she exrayed my bag.:rotfl2: Took a fake gun through and scan our cards to be first ones off the ship for like 5 mins. Can you imagine just having nothing in front of you and the whole Island to yourself? Even for a few min. It was awesome !!! Brooke used the walkie talkie to bridge to get the all clear. Later that day officer Bob came to our cabin and gave Brooke a magical moment certificate. Here are some pictures.

Oh and yes Bob gave us the answer to clue number 1, got the treasure in record time.:rotfl2:

How awesome! :cool1: It is the little things that make vacations so wonderful. :wizard:

CONGRATS!! DH and I had dinner at Victoria & Alberts for our 10th wedding anniversary. Bad Mommy and Daddy left the kids home :rolleyes1 It was a wonderful experience from pulling the rental car up to the gate house and having the CM say, "Happy Anniversary", to the Valet knowing who we were before we got out of the car ... felt even a bit more pampered that evening than I did on my wedding day

Don't feel bad - we'll be leaving four boys back in the room with a sitter. At least we'll make them do their own cooking so that will keep them entertained for a while. DS9 loves to make dinner.

Neat trick. How'd they know it was you?

This will be our third dinner there. It's just not a trip to WDW without a nice dinner at V&A's.

Oh how exciting!!! Does the CT at V&A open up at the same time as the rest of the PS/ADR/whatevertheyarenow??

I told DH that is how I want to celebrate my big 4-0. It will also be our 18th anniversary, so 2-for-1! He has 5.5 years to pull it off.

I can't wait to hear about it when you get back!
Oh I'm so excited for you!

Yeah - they simplified it - everything opens at 180 days. If you're staying onsite then you can make ADRs 180 days out from your arrival + 10 days. They don't open all the tables for that, but you can still get some very nice times. I got two tables for 4 at Cinderella's (we've never done it before) for quite early that way. And I didn't have to get up at 3am to do it! But for the CT at V&A's - since there's only the one table per night - you have to call 180 days in advance.

I did get a "backup" ADR for V&A earlier, just in case. But it looks like we won't be needing it.

Remember, it takes 43 muscles to frown and just 17 to smile.

And it doesn't take any at all to just sit there with a dumb look on your face.

:lmao: :rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2: :lmao:

40 more calories - gone.

Of course, if you wanted to solely look at statistics, the location with the highest crime rate per capita of ANY municipality in the world would surprise you. The municipality had 492 residents in 2006 and reported 486 criminal cases -- 20 times the corresponding crime rate of its nation.

The municipality: Vatican City.

Holy Pope Batman!! That couldn't possibly be true could it? :scared1: :scared1:

Welcome Home Tina!!! So glad you and Brooke had a great time!! She's adorable (and BTW looks just like you!)

Yes, but name one position other than hooker.

JR I can't remember exactly, but isn't it a Tight Head and a Loose Head........oh I know that's wrong, but I think I'm close..:lmao:

Holy Pope Batman!! That couldn't possibly be true could it? :scared1: :scared1:

Of course it can . . . Rome is notorious for pickpockets . . . I wouldn't keep my money anywhere other than in a travel wallet under my shirt many places in Europe, while I walk around NYC with everything in my purse. This isn't to say that I don't love Europe, or that I won't be back there this August -- I will --- but the petty crime level is pretty high.

Caroline that's excellent!! You have already figured out how to completely pay for the TOAL!! To say I'm jealous would be an understatement!

Would you adopt me and my family please?

That's the plan anyway... Now to keep it that way.:rolleyes1

That is so exciting!!! That is on my list of things to do before I die. Can't wait to hear all about it. When are you going to be in WDW? We will be at BWV 8/6to 8/17.

Wow that is fantastic Tina!!! Welcome back! I missed you! :cool1:

Sounds like you had a blast!!:thumbsup2 I never knew they would stamp your passport.:confused3

When we were in Nassau we found the place to have your passport stamped . . . a little building behind a guarded gate near where the ship is docked. . . the first people we passed sent us back to a far office on the right at the end of a long hall. No one was there. We waited and waited . . . then I saw what looked like a stamp pad and stamp on the desk. So we stamped our own passports and headed briskly out of there, sure we were going to be caught or something. I said later it was the Bahamian way . . . "No worries, Mon -- just stamp your own passport!"
