It's just ironic that when they were in the other position on the final show when they were set to win, the airline broke every rule to get the team waiting at the gate on the plane. :headache:

I've never been one of the conspiracy theorists over that. I figured Uchenna & Joyce just got a really lucky break. Probably helps that I was not a real Romber fan and was fine with either of those two teams winning -- as long as it wasn't Team America or the Old Farts.

I never really care for the books that people end up writing after the original author has died. I read all of the VC Andrews books. The ones after her death just weren't the same. I still have them out in the garage. Not sure when I will allow DD to read those. :rolleyes1

I got hooked on those too. Loved the first 3 in the series but never really cared for the rest. I was in High School when they came out and I didn't dare let my folkes know what I was reading...they'd filp!

I was walking around my local town and some people asked me where my kids got them, they said they looked so nice, they were not amused to find out they would have to travel 4,600 miles to get them!

:lmao: :lmao:

I'm not a Romber fan at all because I felt that they used their noteriety too much in that race. Last night, they made their choice for air arrangements and had to live with the consequences they same way any other team would. Obviously, it didn't hurt them any in the end.

There's a NEWSLETTER?????
More proof Mickey hates me.

Yep me too! :sad2:

Mickey might hate me but loves my money. I never got one ever!!!!

Where's mine?

:confused3 I have received nothing from them as well. Not a scrap of paper, much less an e mail.

Our very first cruise was on the Wonder back in '03, and we've discussed trying another line, but it always comes down to plain fear of disappointment. I know it costs quite a bit less to cruise on other lines, but after it's all said and done, it's still a substantial amount of money to shell out no matter what line you cruise. And we're just spoiled by Disney. We're seriously afraid of being let down on another cruise line.
I'm not so sure that it costs A LOT less to cruise other lines...a lot of them do not include things that DCL does, and it can add up. I will say, though, that DCL during their peak season does seem to charge more of a premium than the other lines. Maybe that will change after 2011/2012.

Yes. As soon as we know for sure that we have a placement, we have agreed that we will both take our max vacation time for this year all at once. For me, that is 3 weeks. So we're hoping to take one week all of us together, then we'll each get to take seperate time (that way we get some good family time, but it will also allow each of us some one-on-one to have time to bond with the child seperately.)

It's a really exciting time in our household these days! It's sort of like being in the last trimester of pregnancy! We're just in that waiting/preparing stage!!
:yay: It will be here before you know it, and sooooooooo worth the wait!:flower3:

Our bulb has lasted well over two years -- rear-projection LCD, but we are having issues with the light engine right now that we are trying to get Circuit City (ugh) to fix b/c it is under warranty.

Several x000 posts back I mentioned that DW's laptop was dying because of a broken DC jack. Well, after dealing with the no-nothing phone support "technician" for CC's repair center, they sent "the box" out and we sent in the laptop for repair.

THEY FIXED IT!!!!
 :woohoo:  :woohoo:  :woohoo:

They really, truly, honest to goodness FIXED the laptop! The replaced the DC jack and soldered a new one on...and they did it in ONE day!!!! :faint

So DW was extemely happy...until the other shoe fell...for some reason, the stinkin' wifi radio won't connect! Something is wrong with the actual device because Windoze is throwing up everytime I try to reload or upgrade the device driver. :headache: Note that the wired networking connection still works but that kinda defeats the purpose of a laptop, no? :confused3

Well I'm gonna call this problem in...but since part of my job is risk mitigation and analysis, I made an executive decision and got her a new laptop! No, I wasn't thinking about DH brownie points at all! She ought to like this one when it arrives...17" widescreen display, built-in webcam, DVD DL burner WITH Lightscribe! hmmmmm I may want this for myself!

If they do fix the other one, I'll just use it as a backup to my desktop.

Playing catch up here. Thank goodness for multi quote.

I'm 5'2 on a good day and I have trouble reaching the ground on any that I have tried.
Talked to the owner of our local HD and he said they could cut out the area where the seat is to give me a lower ride. I can't remember which one it was by Mark would know. But seriously, DS does not like that we have a motorcycle. He is worried about us and if I had my own he would probably be so worried that I wouldn't want to ride because of upsetting him.

Dare I say Ebay for a costume?

Also, on the cruises. We have never done NCL but we have done Carnival and RCCL as well as Princess and DCL. I think honestly you have to go into every cruise with an open mind. YES absolutely there is no better cruise than a DCL but if you have the chance and want to get away then as long as you are with someone you care about and just go into with the mindset that it isn't going to be DCL but it will still be fun and a chance to get away, I say go for it. When we went on Carnival last year I was very nervous because there was so much bad press about the ship and the port we left from and then they type of passengers etc that I thought we would be in for a world of hurt but it was actually a great cruise. Sure the ship was older and could use an update but the food was great and the entertainment was awesome.
I don't think I would have picked it for family trip but it was fun for Mark and I to go on. We got to have adult entertainment and a chance to relax. DCL is of course more geared for families then Carnival or RCCL or NCL. But if you are traveling without kids it is nice to do somethings that are a bit different than what you see on DCL. That being said, if I had the money and time I would go DCL with kids. If I had the money and time I might look for something else that doesn't involve as much kid programming, one of the more upscale cruise lines. If I just want to get away without the kids and don't have a lot of $$ to spend. I would go for as long as a trip as I can afford on a cheaper line, like Carnival. I guess it is all in what you make it and if you don't go in with DCL expectations if you are traveling with Carnival.

Confused YET?

I slept in way to much today too. I am still getting over this darn cold and spent most of the night coughing so I took some heavy meds this am and slept as long as I could, so needless to say not much got done today.

I know what you mean about worried family members, Mom had a royal hissy fit when I got my scooter! "You're 50 yrs. old, what are you nuts? You're gonna get killed" I had a really hard time telling her when I had my accident 2 months later!:guilty: :sad1:

I have never watched any of the previous seasons of AR, but I've been watching this season. I'm a little perplexed when it seems that airline people are willing to give info and special deals to some, but not to others. :confused3

I thought that it must be something I missed out on in the past seasons. Like maybe only the first so many teams got priviledges, and the others are just outa luck.

That's AWESOME!! I don't have the lightscribe, but my brother does, and he LOVES it!!

You'lll (ahem! SHE'LL) love the 17" screen!! :thumbsup2 I have a 17" Toshiba Satellite with built-in wi-fi, and I LOVE it!! It's where I do all of my AutoCAD work. My only gripe about it is that it's not quite as portable as the smaller ones. It's a bit heavy to carry around...

And yes, having to lug a cord around the house DEFINITELY defeats the purpose of having a laptop!!

Sounds like a great lap top. :thumbsup2

Ouch! That is why I refuse to sail them on holidays or in the summer, no matter how badly I want to. The increase for peak season is more than what we usually spend for tips/drinks/souvies/excursions. :confused3 That is why I have pulled DD from school for our cruise trips. :rolleyes1

Waiting is difficult, but we're really trying to enjoy the time and savor all of the steps of the process. We're getting the room ready, (and trying to control ourselves and not buy every kid thing we see!!! :lmao: )

I've been keeping a little journal of the whole process that I will someday share with my son or daughter. ;)

I have a cute picture from several years ago with my two oldest daughters wearing "Thing One" and "Thing Two" and posing with the Cat in the Hat at Universal . . . I also got their picture with the "real" things as well while they were wearing the shirts.

I wish I could still do that. I did pull him out for vacations in grade school--but once he hit middle school it seemed like I was hitting a brickwall. But he will be graduating HS next year:cool1:

You know that you are going to have to post lots of pictures of your little one once you get through all this and are taking hundreds of pictures!

ME too, I have the same laptop. I love it for everything. I don't mind moving it around even though it is bigger. I have a drawing program that allows me to import picture of peoples windows and design my treatments right on top of the photo. I love the 17" monitor for that.
