I worked on the 89th floor of 1 WTC and not only could you feel some sway on windy days, you could hear the building cracking. Also on really bad weather days the water in the turlets was tilted. I was honestly scared working that high up! Only lasted in the job 6 months. I Hated the express elevators too!! Felt like the elevator car was being shot through the air like a big boomarang from the lobby to the 78th Fl. (well I think it was the 78th Fl, well it was the 70th-something Floor anyway) I would go up in the morning and down at 5pm! I did not go to lunch for the whole 6 months!

And more

All of this talk about sterilizing things for baby, etc....reminds me of something I had heard from a female comedian once.....She talked about how with the first baby, the binkie falls in the dirt, you grab it, and boil it before letting baby have it back. Second baby....binkie falls in the dirt, you rinse it under the faucet and let baby have it back. Third baby....binkie falls in the dirt, you pick it up and lick it and let baby have it back. Fourth baby....binkie falls in the dirt, you send one of your other kids over to lick it and let baby have it back.

So true! :lmao: :lmao: :lmao: :lmao: :lmao:

That is so exciting!!! That is on my list of things to do before I die. Can't wait to hear all about it. When are you going to be in WDW? We will be at BWV 8/6to 8/17.

Blast! We're going to just miss each other. We're arriving 8/19 and leaving 8/29. Staying at OKW.

I'll definitely write about it when we get back. It's on the "must do" list for a bunch of people. Who knew? :confused3

Why not go this time? You might not be able to get the CT, but the regular tables are still something really special. I don't think the restaurant fills up all that fast. It's completely worth it - and be sure to get the wine parings.

This one is in honor of Tina and Brooke's recent wonderful cruise...

Where to young Pirates hang out?

In the ARRRrrcades!

Glad you two had such a great trip. And... Welcome back!

It doesn't work for me either. Well it keeps me even tempered, but I still end up petrified on the plane. :scared:

The various pills I have taken to fly must have done something as the worst flight I was on was when I got the "bright idea" to fly to Egypt with oldest DD myself while I was pregnant and couldn't take anything.

DH was already there. His brother was getting married. I found out I was pregnant right after he left and I wanted to surprise him. Flight even had a stop in Germany so that meant 2 take-offs and landings. Plus it was winter and the weather was a little bad. Had to wait about 45 minutes on the runway. You know things aren't good when the flight attendents take 30 minutes after take-off to get out of their seats.:scared: Here my little 4 yo had to keep me calm. I still do not know how I made it back on the plane in Germany to make it all the way there and to come home.:rolleyes1

Took me 3 years to get back on a plane to go back to Egypt, and I haven't done it since so it's going on 6 years since I've been on a plane.

Just thought I would also mention my DD didn't collect pins before this cruise.:rotfl2: All of a sudden..........because she is a return cruiser and gets a lanyard and 2 free pins bam O she is addicted. Great marketing ploy.:thumbsup2 :rotfl2: Well dinner is going to be late tonight. I will try to stay caught up.:)

Andy: Is this just routine exrays or did you hurt yourself again?:wizard:

Tina--these x-rays are for my annual visit to see the orthopedic doc in a few weeks, but my knees have really been bothering the past few weeks as well. My left knee was so stiff tonight I could hardly get up on the table for some of the x-rays.

OMG we are SUCH horrible parents! :rotfl: First, DW and I didn't keep the house quiet as a tomb...actually, we played his CD player during naptimes. One of his favorite CDs? A disc that had various household noises...vacuum cleaner, washer & dryer, white noise etc! Our neighbors, however, kept the house totally silenced during their youngest DD's naps.

They also boiled the water to sterilize it for her bottles! We used either water from the fridge's filter or Nursery Water which is pretty much Dasani but with flouride added back in (regular bottled water isn't flouridated).

Oh yeah, we were really horrible...we NEVER heated his bottles!! It was just room temp...because guess what? Never having a heated bottle meant that he never got pissed at us for NOT having a heated bottle when one wasn't available like when traveling or in a store etc! :thumbsup2 We were flying to PHL once and the flight attendant offered to warm his bottle using the hot water dispenser they use for coffee. DW say "No thanks, he take it cold!" The FA was astounded that we got him trained like that and wished her DD would take a cold bottle.

Can't say about the Bag Balm for diaper rash. We used cloth diapers and the ONLY time he got diaper rash were the few times we went with the disposables. Actually it got so bad that the doc prescribed, get this, BUTT PASTE! ROFL it's an Aquafor based ointment that has to be specially mixed by the pharmacist (there's a different formula for boys vs. girls). Anyway, you can imagine TSA's displeasure with these little tubes of ointment that show up as something nefarious on the scanners...especially when the pharmacy label simply says "Butt Paste" :rotfl: :lmao: :rotfl:

:rotfl2: OMG, I think we could be nominees for president of the horrible parents club. Not only did we not give DS number 3 heated milk, but we also never gave him a bottle. It took us so long to wean twin DSs off bottles and pacifiers that when third DS came along we said forget it and any supplemental stuff between nursings was given in a sippy cup. And a pacifier never touched his lips!

Michelle

Well, DH should be coming home soon as he has to pick up DD from dance. I need to look like I did something today. Later!

Thank you.............more to come ! I know this is corny and DD didn't really want to do it but she did.:) We wore matching shirts for Pirate night. Last cruise in Aug. I wore a huge elabrate costume, this time just wanted something a little simple. The life style portraits are just awesome !! We got them done twice.:thumbsup2 o.k time to make dinner............more pics later.

Looking forward to more pics Tina!!! :thumbsup2

Andy, I still can't believe that Adam will be out of HS. I know he is on the older side. November Bday and then he repeated kindergarten. But my baby boy is growing up!

I know, I know, just tonight Angelina was saying she has to get ready to take the test to get her driver's permit, I had an instant headache set in. :scared:  :scared1:

I don't blame you, Caroline. I don't care for flying myself. But I also HATE being stuck in a car on long trips....We are going to be driving to FL over spring break. My cousin is getting married on Jupiter Beach. I wish we could fly, but we are taking my grandma who will NOT get on an airplane. So....we have an 18 hour car ride to look forward to.

I really am hopeless. I don't even like other people driving most of the time. Really though. The last time I was on a plane, I was so stressed just thinking about it! I couldn't sleep, and if I did, I had nightmares. It is all a control thing with me. My mother said I was like this since I was a baby. When I would be in the car as a baby (no carseat then), I would get stiff as a board at the tiniest bump in the road. Heck, I remember going to the Franklin Institute in 6th grade. I don't think I had ever been on an elevator before. I waited til everyone got in, then I took off for the stairs with my friend. My teacher wasn't very happy, but she had someone escort me back down the stairs.:rolleyes1

But I have been on planes, trains, subways, buses, etc. I just try to avoid them as much as possible.;) (Although I do love trains)

Hey Caroline.....me and you definitely gotta hang.....I have the control thing too! I hate turning over my destiny to someone or something else. That is why flying is the WORST of all worlds. It too high and I have to turn over my control to the Pilot. Hey, maybe he fought with his wife, or is drunk, or worse yet, depressed and wants to commit suicide....on my flight....you know take us all down with him.....dead..........well you get my drift..:rotfl: :rotfl:

Andy wait till you see you new car insurance rates :scared1: :scared1: and double :scared1: :scared1:

DH had to PEEL me off the CEILING!!
