Growing up in Brooklyn was Superty Cool!!! (from my DH & ME)

Oh' remember ring-a-lario that's a good one, monkey bars without pading underneath, no seatbelts in cars, and we were able to ride in the front seat! Step on a crack and you break your mother's back

What about the metal swings! Of course no one would sit down to swing. You HAD to stand up. And the slides They had to be at least 7-8 feet high. There wasn't anything on the ground to protect you if you fell.

I remember hanging out on stoop with friends waiting for the ice cream truck(Mister Softee )A cone was only 50 cents.

We could get a slice of pizza and a soda for $1.00.

Bonton potato chips were 15 cents.

When you went to the movies, you got to see two shows.

No play dates- we just went outside and found some kids on the block to play with.

Lord help you if you ever disrespected any adult.

Thinking about this...........I would rather have gone to Mickey Jail for explosive devices.........than go to REAL JAIL for dressing up like a Hooker......Must be a Rugby Thang !!!! LOL

Andrew... I have seen the 1st episode of season 2 (New Earth) and apparently the last two episodes of season 1 (Tooth & Claw, as well as School Reunion). It was a triple play broadcast a couple of weeks ago on the SciFi channel on cable. I am scanning for additional rebroadcasts as I have not seen the episode with AnneDROID. As such I can only imagine the plot lines to accompany these limited images found on google...

Safe to say I'll just leave it at that! <chuckles>

Yes, we did think we were fooling our parents didn't we???

When I started smoking cigs were 55 cents a pack in 1975. When I quit they were $2.50. That was in 1994 when my Dad was diagnosed with lung cancer. I smoked 2 packs a day. I put the $5.00 a day in a can and after one year took our kids on an awesome vacation to WDW with the savings!!

I hate to admit it, but to this today I miss a good smoke. And in Every Single Dream I dream I am SMOKING! That fact that I am smoking is relevant in the dream, but I always have a cigarette in my hand. Weird huh?

I started in '73, I was 14. I quit in '96, 2-2 1/2 pks a day. I've had asthma since I was a kid. After 3 trips to the hospital with pnuemonia and several rounds of steroids to help me breath, I figured it was time. I still dream about it too and I always say top myself "What are you thinking, you idiot!"
I do get cravings evey now and then....especially when I'm stressed out. But in the long run,it's the best thing I ever did, even though I've gained a Half a Ton!

I personally would NOT wish to be on the first cruises, one/ The ships will take time to settle down, TWO/problems occur, THREE/crew need to get to know the ships, FOUR/Meals never served before in the new resturants. You read of sooo many problems on new ships,

When they start service prices will fall on the DM & DW, so I would go for that, I think the new ships will start on the bread and butter carribean routes first leaving the DM&DW to travel afar.! Shipyards have delays so it will be moved back anyway!

I would be afraid it would be postponed also and then it would be no fun trying to squeeze into another trip. Does anyone know if the Magic or Wonder was postponed?

I think from the video I saw on the Panama cruise the Magic was delayed and the red boat continued.

When I was a wee little lad, we used to get Mister. Softee cones for 10 cents. Now that's aging myself!!!

We use to get Mr. Softee too Andy! And Good Humor, and the Hood Truck and Bunaglow Bar. One time all four showed up on the block at the same time. It was an Ice Cream Man Show Down

Also, our Mr. Softee guy was deaf. He obviously was good at reading lips to take our orders. But now that I think about it. Legally speaking, are deaf people allowed get driver's licenses?

We own at BWV and VWL currently. We had also owned at VB, but had a BAD experience with bugs in the room................ FGM got over going to VB after the 2nd trip.........so we sold our VB points last year.
