Since we are all sharing proposal stories ...I will share my short one .....My Sweet Melissa actually Proposed to Me ...Thats right ....okay now a little back story ....I had been married before (twice actually) and swore I would never propose to another women again ...Melissa knew that I was content with just being together and she also knew I would never ask ...So she did something out of the ordinary and got a ring for me to wear and proposed to me .....Another corny story from your Captain ...LOL

pirate:

That is perrrrfect!! And she got you a ring and everything! Love it...

I knew at least one of us wenches had to have done the proposing!

I am sorry that everyone is getting unwanted spam that seems to have been generated by the group email list. That is a result of someone on the list. Please do not do that to your fellow cruisers.

LOL I wasn't talking about time stamp- mine was next in line is what I meant.

Captain, you are certainly dedicated to the details!!

Okay now here's some more questions:

The marriage you are in now- is it your first?

and even if it isn't, how long have you been married to the one you are married to now?

:)

No Its not the first ...Married almost 10 years together 13 years ....

pirate:

First marriage for both DH and myself (I swore I would only have 1 after living through my parents divorce) and we are married for 14 years this past Oct.

Yes, please don't do that. My email address is only for family, close friends and my kids' teachers. I've kept it that way for many years and I'd hate to have to change my email address because I gave it for this group. :(

(ps. lisa... you shouldn't apologize. Not your fault people would use the list in that way!)

Crash,

It looks like the plan worked again. We now got 2 of the last 3!

Maybe one of the other Swabbies in the loop will get the next one. :thumbsup2

I tried Jeff, I really did, thanks for the tip by the way!!! :thumbsup2 :rotfl2:

You've probably already heard this, but there is suppose to be a link between caffeine consumption and anxiety attacks. Something about the body building up an intolerance to the caffeine over time. Cutting it out entirely is suppose to help:confused3

Mine was entirely due to stress and overload.

Hello folks...

... just ducking in for a few minutes before I gotta ru off again... and I can see folks appearantly sharing proposal stories...

Ours was over dish washing. We had just had a dinner with a few friends and I asked my spouse... "isn't that something?... Dave and Amber are gettin' married, Dave and Catherin, Ted and Judy too... and Dave and Jennifer... and so on... and then I asked - what do you think ... you suppose we should get married?"... and she just froze ... and looked at me and said... "... what?... is that it?".... I said... "???? what were you expectin'?".... and she said... "... you do have ring don't you?".... and I said... " ... I need a ring???"... she roller her eyes and said... "... you've at least called my father, havn't you?"... and I said ... "... what? I have to ask him too???".

Part 2 of the proposal story...

... so she says... "you better call my Dad and ask him "...

... so I called and when Mom and Dad come on the line I say...

..." I'd like to ask for your permission to marry Alicia"....

... and it seemed like a really long silence ensued...

:confused3

So part 3 of my story...

So... it was not really THAT long a silence ... but it sure FELT that way...

... and Dad asks... "... have you asked her yet?..."

... and I thought silently < NO - NO - NO! You're NOT supposed to ask ME any questions! > then the thought flashed into my mind... <don't hesitate>....

... SO I said... "Yes, I have"... again ... more silence....

Now I gotta go for a bit - I'll finish this story a little later....

<chuckles>

Disneypilots (Mark) and I will be celebrating 20 years of marriage on this cruise. We have only been married to each other. Will have been together 24 years by then. And yes, I was a baby when we met. :rotfl:

Um, no fair spreading this out like a series or something. I hate "to be continued" stuff. LOL

First and only marriage. Married "unofficially" 15 years last December. Officially, 16 years this past January.

(We were married by a justice of the peace first in order to get cheap car insurance (really!), then 11 months later, had our church wedding. We celebrate the church wedding date as our real anniversary)

This was my 1st 1000th posting (on this thread)...

And thank yous for everyone else who chimed in with complements. I can't begin to tell all of you how releived I am ... as now I'll not be thinking anymore about what dress size I might have been, and so on. If this went on any further then my line on refusing to join the Wench ranks might have begun to crumble!

:dance3: Congrats CC!!! :woohoo:

Well since you answered I guess I'll answer my own question.
Figure this one out:
I've been married more than once but I've never been married to anyone else. ;)

OK - I'm way behind again! This is probably way back ...

Hi all ... Just wondering if there are any other Canadians out there. I need to have someone on my side when you all tease me for saying eh!!! ... Come on you know you're going to say it at least once on the cruise.

My DH seems to find "eh" contagious. :rotfl2: He and my father spent a week in Canada fishing right before our wedding - they came back just a few days before the 'big event' - and I really thought he was going to say "I do - eh"!!! It seemed to end every single scentance for a couple of weeks.

Actually, whenever he goes on a business trip to the south, he comes home with a drawl. And the worst one, when he has long, all day conference calls withthe development team in India, he actually starts picking up their accent - one of these days someone is going to think he is mocking them and be offended :scared1:
