It's SO funny that the choc chip cookie recipe was posted earlier. I am home now from work...they closed the office at 2 due to weather, so I didnt really have to debate anymore about leaving earl...LOL

Anyway, so I'm home safe, and I'm thinking with all the talk earlier about baking, I'd love to bake something sweet! So I looked to see what I had in my cupboards, and I have all the stuff you listed for those cookies! (except I have milk chocolate/peanut butter chips instead of just straight chocolate chips, but I think it'll still taste good.) I was actually going to get on here and ask if anyone thought the choc/peanut butter chips would be good in brownies because I have all the stuff to make brownies from scratch too...HMMMMM..decisions decisions....

Oh c'mon now! How much snow could you have possibly gotten?

Why don't you try both.

If you want a special chocolaty treat add 1/4 cup dutch processed baking chocolate(the powder) instead of the 4 tbs of extra flour for Chocolate chocolate chip cookies!

The choco peanut butter chips would be GREAT in brownies! I've made them with just the peanut butter ones, just the chocolate and combination of both! With a great big glass of milk - mmm mmm good!

DS is SO easy!!! Take a pair of jeans out of the drawer, grab underwear & socks, grab a striped shirt out of the closet...he's done! Neither of them are brand named brainwashed yet so I am lucky there.

Mine too. Our neighbor gave us a hand knitted sweater vest. DS9 loves it. I really like going to a school where hand made anything is considered special and the big names are looked down on. :goodvibes

DS has quite a tie collection. He started wanting to wear them at age 5. I bought a bunch on Ebay from one seller. Now he is set for a while. :)

Mine love dressing up. I sure hope this doesn't mean they're going to become clothes horses. Some of the stuff for guys is as expensive as the girls!

When are you cruising? We don't have 20 months! LOL

Uh. After 10 I run out of fingers?? :rolleyes1

1 tsp baking soda
2 Cups plus 4 tbs flour

1 1/2 cups chocolate chips
1 cup chopped walnuts if desired

drop by rounded table spoon onto parchment paper lined cookie sheet

cool and enjoy!

Do you find that the butter works better than the 'butter' crisco? Or is crisco sacreligious? :rotfl:

Not a lot of snow yet really, just about 6 inches so far. But the ice this morning that's being covered by the snow was the worst part. Made the roads awfully darn slippery. And then the wind blowing the snow everywhere makes visibilty really bad for driving. And of course, the road crews won't go out in most cases here until the snow's done falling, so the raods are just a big slushy slippery mess right now. And they figured at the office that they would rather we try to get home in the daylight than have to deal with idiot drivers after dark.
And hey, I'm not complaining...:confused3

I'm sure Todd is out there lurking somewhere, especially since he called it a while ago!

Hi Everyone,
I've been enjoying this thread sooo much - you are all such a great group of people - I'm delighted that we are on the cruise with you.

It's time for me to join the fray -
there will be 4 of us - DH - Paul, me - Chris, DD - Lori, her son DGS 7yrs at cruise time. The rest of our family cannot join due to conflicting schedules. Paul missed our 12/05 cruise and is quite happy that this is a "pirate driven" cruise - he is already researching his costume. Lori & I will just repeat 2005!!
Don't know how frequently I will be able to post - however - to all those w/B'days - Happy Birthday, to those ill/recuperating - my thoughts are with you - feel better ASAP. Oh, to those of you facing snow, etc. please take care and keep warm.
Cheers - Chris:flower3:

:dance3: :dance3: :dance3: :jumping1: WELCOME CHRIS!!

OMG!

I can't believe you even mentioned that word, only butter, it makes them taste so much better.

Julia child should be turning over in her grave at this point.

How is the weather there?????

I don't think it's as bad as you have it right now! It was pretty bad earlier when I was trying to get home. But it's tapered off a bit for now. It looks like normal snowfall now as opposed to the blizzard it looked like earlier...LOL
I think we're supposed to get more off and on all afternoon and evening, but it's slowed down for now. :thumbsup2
