Possible Mini DIS Meet ?????

Looks like we will be going to Disneyland on March 23rd thru the 25th just for a quick visit and to celebrate all of our birthdays since they all fall within a couple of weeks between all four of us , So .. I was thinking why not have a little Mini Meet ...So if anyone is interested Please let me know , maybe we could meet at DTD at a place to eat ...or even better yet How about the Blue Bayou ???? I have never ate there before and thought this might be a perfect setting for us Pirates ....So if your up for it we will be there ...Just would like to know how many would be interested if we needed to make a ressie at BB???

I let my DD shop at Lmtd2, but she goes in knowing I have veto power and am not afraid to use it...sometimes we walk in and leave with nothing...there is often alot there I would not let her buy, but she also puts together some really cute outfits...quality wise, I am not thrilled...I try to get Talbots end of season...and try to steer her to Old Navy....

I also let me DD (11) shop at LimitedToo but I am very careful at what she wears. Some of their stuff is very risque for an 11 year old> I have managed to have great sucess with their formal type dresses the last few cruises. The quality of their stuff is not the greatest and the prices are high unless they have a sale.

:lmao: :lmao:
Wow it's windy out here today... and they say we may have snow tomorrow! Just for those that don't know- we're talking TEXAS here people! this winter has been a cold one for us... late, but cold.

Yeah, and we are such wimps! I heard something about this being the coldest winter on record. Not sure if that was true since it was said between David Finfrocks hacks on the air. :lmao: Local weather person has been sick on air for months!!!!

I just found our DD's will miss an entire week of school for this cruise. As if that was not bad enough it will be oldest DD 1st week of middle school. This is not the best of news.
In Texas we are completely re-aligning the school calendar in 2007/2008 so a lot of us were not sure when they were going to end of starting.
Bummer.

An American Girl Place just opened at the Grove in Los Angeles, and that's where we will be celebrating DD's birthday this year. They have a theatre with a show, a tea room, a store and a salon where they can have their doll's hair done. She is very excited about spending the day there!

We've been to the one in Chicago and really enjoyed it. There was a birthday party going on when we were there for dinner, and it looked like the girls were having a ball!

The Blue Bayou is so cool! The great thing is to get a table right by the water where the boats are floating by. It is definitely your kind of place Captain!

It would be great fun to meet there. You can count us in!

That stinks!

my DD got a really nice dress there for our OCt cruise!!!..but again, there were some there that were a big "NO!"!!!:)

They have some "preppie" style stuff right now - plaids, etc....but usually I can't get DD interested in more classic stuff....

Good Morning - My DD (12) came home with a project yesterday from Middle School. She is suppossed to interview a group of people to determine what are there top 5 "Stresses" in their life. I gave her some ideas like Time, Money, Health, etc. In hindsight, I should have sent her to this thread - the response would have been What Room #, What Dining Time, how many times to Palo, etc I am not sure her Teacher would have been able to understand the answers. I think her Teacher is looking for the Middle School answers of Homework, Friends, Sports, etc.

has anyone ever stayed Hilton or DoubleTree near DL? DH stays at that family of hotels for work, so we will be probably looking to use points....:)

I've stayed at the Hilton Garden Inn and it was very nice. They had a shared shuttle with 2 next door hotels and it ran every 30 minutes. I ended up there on a priceline bid. I wouldn't choose to stay there because I prefer to be closer, but I wouldn't be disappointed if it came up on a priceline bid again.

The Hilton at the Convention Center is one of the Mousesavers.com preferred hotels. But I haven't stayed, so I can't comment.

I agree that the quality isn't the best. I like Old Navy and Target better. Although there are some cute things at Limited 2. When her Brownie troop went they got to put on a fashion show. DD choose a cute black dress with white poka dots and white trim. It was cute, but it was a halter top which I thought was too much for a 6 yr old! It was also $30. DD wanted me to buy it, but I told her there was no place that she could wear it.

yeah - we usually make things work by layering something under - or putting a nice sweater over something like a halter! DD is a little older, but we often have to work to make some things more appropriate...

All caught up, now it's time to go back to work and walk in the snow. At least I did get about 100 meters read this morning. My glasses kept on fogging up going in and out of the houses. :rotfl2:

We've got about 2" here, but tonight it is supposed to change over to and icy mix, looks like I might be taking a Personal Day tomorrow. I do have a nice 4 day weekend coming up for President's Weekend!!! :thumbsup2

 Later All!!!

If you can make the mini DISmeet next month, I know y'all will have a blast!!! :wizard:

Totally off-topic, so forgive me in advance.

Did anyone else hear about the mall shooting in SLC last night? Freaked me out because I was in that mall last summer and my aunt and uncle go there regularly.

Oh my, I feel a little sheepish to have to admit this, but my DD does have some Bratz dolls and I do shop for her at Limited Too (when they have sales). I'm very selective about what I let her choose however. No hoochie clothes. They often have very cute sportswear, especially the sweats.

DD is a total girly girl and loves all sorts of dolls. She has plenty of Barbies and Disney princesses and she loves American Girl dolls. She has several and is really enjoying reading the books that go with them. Where I have to admit I do feel a bit squeamish about the Bratz sometimes, I love the American Girl dolls, books and movies.

OK, now that I have fessed up about the Bratz I feel better. Like going to confession! I hope you will all forgive me my transgression!

:) all is forgiven!!!;)

to each their own!!!:)

wish we had an AG Place near us!!!
