You shore people don't have to rub it in!!! :rotfl2:

Us inlanders are getting the sn*w/sleet/freezing rain/rain mix over the next two days. I'd rather have the sn*w over the freezing rain/rain mix any day.

Be safe to all those who will be having rough weather over the next few days.

Now, now Andy. ;) We are still getting snow right now. It is supposed to be changing to that wintery mix you were talking about. Then freezing rain, then rain, then the mix again, then snow maybe over night. Who knows how messy this will all end up.:sad2: Just keep safe and warm please.:goodvibes

Okay cool with the no tackling. He's had an injured knee in the past and we wouldn't want him crippled the rest of the cruise.
He says he's all for it. Doesn't know a thing about rugby but he said he thought it would be fun to learn. :)

Hey BBB, while I wouldn't want to see your DH or anyone else hurt, CC day is the last day of the cruise so it wouldn't be so bad.;)

Exactly....I've been sucked in a few times while flipping channels, and it's like a car crash....I just can't look away. I can't believe some of these girls actually say these things and act this way.....and still have friends!! This show is one of the (many) reasons we have all shows rated over 'PG' blocked on our TV now. We can watch the blocked shows by entering a code, but my kids don't know the code, and never will!

I saw that show just once when getting my car serviced. Me and the other guy there were talking about how if those were OUR daughters, they wouldn't be able to sit down by the time they turned 16. I couldn't believe people let their kids act that way. But then again, I got yelled at by a mother for bumping her son with a chair at gymnastics Saturday -- her kid was running around the room and came too close to my table as I went to get up -- and I got the 'watch what you are doing' from the mom. I told her, sorry, but next time tell your rugrat to sit down and stop running behind my chair.

Happy Birthday, Katie!

ooooh pretty cake! And yes....Happy Birthday Katie!!! :cake: (not as pretty)

I'm not caught up yet, but I'll have to go back & read every single post, because like I said before...I'm nosey. But first I must go get my hair done. My greys are really starting to show! :scared:

DS is not as congested today, but he says he can't walk because his legs are killing him. Geez is there any symptom this kid won't have before all is said & done. I'm not really worried because the same thing happened last year & when I called the doctor they said the virus going around was affecting the legs for a day or 2 & it certainly did.

I hope MR's DD is feeling better today, but I don't know if she's been on yet. I'll check back later.

Anyway random thought for the day....is it possible that goofy is just a strange looking mouse? I mean he's black like Mickey & Minnie & he has a beige face like Mickey & Minnie but he has long droopy ears & a long snout. :confused3

Have a good day everyone!

How long have you lived there? I lived in the area 1967 - 1994. They use to ignore the snow fluries and just keep the kids in school all day. Then there was the blizzard of 1980. I can remember that because there was a song written about it by a local newscaster. The busses were stuck on 64. The circus was in town...so it was February...at the Hampton Coliseum. People went to the circus that night and couldn't leave. They have outdoor parking lots & the cars were snowed in. The Red Cross brought in supplies. The performers enteretained the crowd much longer than the regular time frame of the circus. They went among the crowds to juggle & make the kids feel comfortable. So...that is why they now close things down when it starts to snow. I don't remember another storm like that since but there were so many complaints from parents that their kids didn't get home until very late that night from school & the kids being stranded on the interstate that they changed the policies.

Hi Lisa,

I have been here since 9/00. I have never seen people panic so much and the way they complain about cold. Like I said earlier I am from Syracuse, NY and they have no idea what cold is like! The year before I moved down here they had an ice storm at Christmas and alot of people lost power for well over a week.

2003 we got hit with hurricane Isabel. My house was not damaged but all the other houses in the cul de sac had some damage.

This summer we got hit with remnants of Ernesto. I was on the 8/19 Magic with a week after in WDW. I got to spend 3 extra days:woohoo: in WDW because SWA & AirTran cancelled flights! What a place to get stranded!!! What better place to get stranded!

It depends on which way the wind is blowing we can get hit from Richmond(the west) or the coast(Northern North Carolina and Va Beach). Right now the sky is so dark and gloomy we are getting ready for rain, sleet, snow and ice.

I am prepared(the generator goes on automatic if the power goes out). After the previos years alot of the new home are have generators installed.) It's funny that if you go outside when the power is out that the only sound you hear are the neighbor's generators!!)

Goofy is a mutant generated by the Sorcerer in his secret laboratory. I mean, if the guy has walking brooms with pails...

Sometimes I think they take the fabric from the torso part and use that for the sleeves. Call me crazy, but I don't think my kindergartener needs to have a clingy form-fitting tee. So, then I size up, which makes the shirt have orangutan arms.

Sad huh? It does seem to be getting a little better though!

Please explain what these 'littlest pests' things are. I need to know so I can steer DD away from them. She does not need another toy obsession.

They are really cute. DD5 loves them. She calls them "boggleheads" because they have bobble heads.

I have some on my desk at work. They have a magnet in their feet so I hang them upside down from the metal overhead shelf on my desk.

You're right...they are expensive. BUT...my dd plays with them so much, I think it has been worth it. And, she takes good care of them and plans to pass them on to "her daughter" one day.

We have also bought clothes for her AG dolls at Target, but it doesn't look like they carry them anymore.

That is what DD has...the Generation Doll from Target. I picked it up on sale. There is another one out there that is for this Christmas. It was only $5 at 75%. :thumbsup2 I sorted thru everything last week & pulled it down to put in a bag since DD is getting more curious. She is going to love it...she has long red hair...just like her new friend from the last cruise. I have a feeling that she is going to name her after her friend.

MR- I hope you're daughter is felling better today!!

I am playing nurse today as well, but my patient is of the 4-legged variety. Our 13 1/2 yo dog, Beau, had been acting out of sorts lately. He wouldn't go up and down stairs, and wasn't as playful. Sunday evening my husband picked him up and noticed some scabs on his belly. We flipped him over to find some pretty nasty looking sores. It had been burried under all of his fur (he's a Sheltie). Took him to the vet yesterday morning and the Vet is very worried. They are running a blood test, and the Vet mentioned it may be cancerous lesions. :sad1:

We won't hear back about the blood test until tomorrow, and the Vet wants to see him again on Saturday. In the mean time I have to keep him and my other dog, Sloopy, separated, and I have a regiment of antimicrobial wash for the wounds, ear drops because his canals were infected also, antibiotics & pain killers....all several times a day. Poor guy. He has always been the most pleasant dog. He was such an angel at the Vets even though he was being poked while he was in so much discomfort.

Wow -- this must be scary for you. Best of luck with getting good news with the results of the testing.

LOL! They were the last McD's promotion. That is all that DD has & will have. :thumbsup2 They are little pets that have a head that wiggles...like a bobblehead thing.

We got one from McDs in December. The quality wasn't as good as the ones you buy in stores.
