I've never heard of them....where do you buy them?

they have their own website: Carpatina . com..they also have their own size dolls with clothes to fit them...I haven't shown the catalog to DD because the one AG doll is enough, don't want her getting any more ideas!!!! Be sure to jouin - you get 15% off!!!

Oh, I HATE that show! I've never wanted to slap a bunch of spoiled brats more in my life! I'm sorry, I'm not one to advocate corporal punishment, but what these girls need is a good you know what! And the worst part is, is that they will go through life doing the same things and get what they want to the exlusion of everyone else's needs.

Exactly....I've been sucked in a few times while flipping channels, and it's like a car crash....I just can't look away. I can't believe some of these girls actually say these things and act this way.....and still have friends!! This show is one of the (many) reasons we have all shows rated over 'PG' blocked on our TV now. We can watch the blocked shows by entering a code, but my kids don't know the code, and never will!

Good Morning Everyone:surfweb:

Hope everyone stays warm today!

MR - I hope your daughter:sick: is feeling better.

We here in Williamsburg, VA are bracing on getting another cold snap (20 degrees) Everyone panics down here and all the grocery shelfs are empty. If we get one to two inches of snow everything closes down. I along with several others beings from the Central New York area and the northeast (I am from Syracuse, NY right smack in the middle of lake effect area, just south of Fulton, Mexico and Redfield(who now holds the record of 12' of snow in one week and is expecting another 2' by tomorrow am).

How long have you lived there? I lived in the area 1967 - 1994. They use to ignore the snow fluries and just keep the kids in school all day. Then there was the blizzard of 1980. I can remember that because there was a song written about it by a local newscaster. The busses were stuck on 64. The circus was in town...so it was February...at the Hampton Coliseum. People went to the circus that night and couldn't leave. They have outdoor parking lots & the cars were snowed in. The Red Cross brought in supplies. The performers enteretained the crowd much longer than the regular time frame of the circus. They went among the crowds to juggle & make the kids feel comfortable. So...that is why they now close things down when it starts to snow. I don't remember another storm like that since but there were so many complaints from parents that their kids didn't get home until very late that night from school & the kids being stranded on the interstate that they changed the policies.

Please explain what these 'littlest pests' things are. I need to know so I can steer DD away from them. She does not need another toy obsession.

here you go:

http://www.hasbro.com/littlestpetshop/

as far as obsessions, we do have to keep making it clear to DD that if she is going to focus on these we can't aslo be doing beanies, pokemon, or anything else to any extent!!! One "thing" at a time!!!:)

Just got a weather update - we know have blizzard warning's from 6 pm tonight until 6 am Thursday morning - looks like we are going to be getting a typical N'oreaster with 18-36 inches forecasted for the Capital Region of NY north and western MA.

Batten down the hatches everyone - make sure you get all your supplies (like toilet paper, milk, bread and eggs - though I prefer a big bottle of vodka and cranberry juice) and hunker down for the duration.

It's hitting hard here....my kids are home from school....AGAIN! I sure hope it stops in time for roads to be clear for tomorrow, since they have Valentine's Day parties.

Thanks! I'm going to check this out. I've already told my dd -no more dolls- but I don't mind getting her some clothes for them since she plays with them a lot.

has anyone ever stayed Hilton or DoubleTree near DL? DH stays at that family of hotels for work, so we will be probably looking to use points....:)

I could of swore I read somewhere that the WB Repo was sold out too, but I just checked the DCL site and they have availability in all categories except 6.

People were posting it was sold out, I read a few posts here and elsewhere,

Maybe people cancelled.

On my Med trip it did sell out but has availability again now ,and I think this cruise will sometime in 2008 just afer the 90 day mark.

that is what we have done - started with Barbies - she wanted a mermaid, we got a mermaid outfit instead of doll...she has one AG doll, so we buy an outfit or accessory here and there...because she is more into animals tha dolls, we often get things for Licorice or Cocnut - although the new Nicki doll is tempting....

I also have good luck at craft shows - can sometimes find really nice, one of kind dresse/outfits for way less

OK, so Mother Nature is a cruel, cruel woman!!! :lmao:
I leave for work this morning, and it's raining and 35 degrees.
I get halfway to work, and the temp has already dropped 5 degrees :scared: and the rain has begun to change to freezing rain. (You'd think that with the vehicle that I drive I would just turn my happy rear right around and head back home..NOPE!! I keep going.) So I get to work and the sleet/freezing rain is beginning to stick to the roads and the cars. OK, so I figure that's alright, I'll just get in, do some work quickly, then leave! So now we have a pretty decent coating of ice on the roads, and the sleet is now changing to snow, and the temp is supposed to be down to 20 by mid-late morning!! Then we're supposed to get an accumulation of 6-12 inches. I know this isn't much snow in the whole grand scheme of things...but with the ice and snow combined, my truck really doesn't like to cooperate. So I really wanted to be home when this happened so that I could be stuck there, not here at work LOL...OH, cruel cruel world! :lmao:

Okay but I do have to admit.....I had the Barbie whose chest grew when you cranked her arm!! Hey, I didn'y buy it for myself......

LOL! Growing up Skipper!!! :lmao: My sister had that & just about wore the arm out going back & forth. :lmao:

We use to stay at the Hilton over the last 5-10 years. Price was right $80-98. Then last when the 50th Birthday celebration they raised their rates to $150-190/night. The hotel is great. Across the street kinda of. They have their own tram to the main entrance.

Happy Birthday, Katie!

See now....I do like American Girl dolls. I think they are innocent looking, dress is appropriate, and I love the stories that go along with them. They teach history, tolerance/acceptance, and empowerment of young girls.

DD likes to look at the magazines that come with all the dolls. She NEEDS the one with green eyes & blonde hair like her. ;) DS told me last week that he has read all of the books in the library and wants me to buy more for him to read. They are the AG mysteries. He likes them because of the historical relavance...he is a history buff afterall. I am going to start looking for them since DD will enjoy them too.

not sure if this has been discussed...

if anyone is wanting a postcard sent to their children prior to leaving from california/dl, (like the ones verandaman does from florida...which he did for our 2 DSs...thank you!) i would be more than happy to do it. just a thought...:flower:

I can send postcards from DLR, too. Great idea!

LOL! They were the last McD's promotion. That is all that DD has & will have. :thumbsup2 They are little pets that have a head that wiggles...like a bobblehead thing.

I couldn't remember her name! She was fascinating, though. Wasn't she? At least she was when I was 8!!:rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:

They are terrific...and they teach great lessons, too.
