Saw this joke on another website. Thought it fitting with the conversations from a week or so ago:



Long ago lived a seaman named Captain Bravo. He was a manly man who showed no fear in facing his enemies. One day, while sailing the seven seas, a look-out spotted a pirate ship and the crew became frantic. Captain Bravo bellowed, ''Bring me my Red Shirt.'' The First Mate quickly retrieved the captain's red shirt and whilst wearing the bright red frock he led his men into battle and defeated the pirates. Later on that day, the look-out spotted not one, but two pirate ships. The captain again called for his red shirt and once again, though the fighting was fierce, he was victorious over the two ships. That evening, all the men sat around on the deck recounting the day's triumphs and one of the them asked the captain, ''Sir, why do you call for your red shirt before battle? The captain replied, ''If I am wounded in the attack, the shirt will not show my blood and thus, you men will continue to fight, unafraid.'' All of the men sat in silence and marveled at the courage of such a manly man as Captain Bravo. As dawn came the next morning, the look-out spotted not one, not two, but TEN pirates ships approaching from the far horizon. The crew stared at the captain and waited for his usual reply. Captain Bravo calmly shouted, ''Get me my brown pants.''

I laugh because I told my DH the same reasoning - and its worked for the last 3 stones he bought me - I'm gonna keep using it until he catches on - Don't tell him OK

Seriously though - had that happen to me - bought the best ever tanzanite stone which was just over the equivalent of 3.25 karats in Alaska of all places - can we mention where on here? Turns out at the time that Alaska was in the running to take away the Carribean's reputation as the place to get tanzanite at a good price. A month later we went on the Disney Western? In Cozumel they had the same Exact ring with a stone 1/2 the size that I was wearing for DOUBLE the price. When I told them how much we paid for it -they were astounded and readily admitted we got a good price. I guess DH's lowballing the price worked for us. Good luck in standing your ground - they are harder and harder to find. In the meantime, if you have daughters - can't leave them out

I did not buy at either place but did browsing at both places, and I found stones to be much cheaper in Jamaica than in Cozumel. I'm window shopping for the best deal before buying. Maybe I need to get on a cruise to Alaska and shop there!

We bought DW an Emerald ring in Cozumel on out last DCL trip. Got a outstanding deal............glad I had all that Tequila..before I knew it.........we were done shopping and back on the ship. Didnt realize what we spent until the next morning................

So that's the secret of how to get the jewelry! I've been doing it all wrong- letting DH go scuba diving while I window shop. I've been doing it ALL WRONG.

I bought more for my then 5yr old and 12yr old than I bought for myself (which translates to I bought them jewelry but bought none for myself)
