We had some sun today as well, but with the wind chill factor still below zero, I was so bundled up, the sun couldn't find me.![]()

This is a picture of the lanyard we received as a gift from a fellow Diser(first timers). We also are showing the Castaway Club lanyard. The name tag had our board name as well as our first name. When we saw the blue lanyards we knew instantly they were fellow Disers. We obtained the lanyards at a pre cruise meeting on deck 10 above Scoops before the cruise sailed.
I thought this was a great idea and it really worked!!!!
Ditto. We promised our dolphin loving oldest daughter on the LAST cruise but we weren't able to in Cozumel because of the hurricane. I think they had it in Costa maya but we already had the ruins package planned.![]()
I'm not sure what we are going to do at each port- but at the moment it looks like dolphin swim at whatever ports we can for us, scuba diving for DH.I told him listen, you can't scuba dive at EVERY PORT because if you do, we won't spend any time together! When he went scuba diving in Cozumel he was gone all day! (me and the kids did the submarine thing there)
That sounds like a lot of fun. We did the dolphins at Cici Water Park in Alc. I really enjoyed it, but it would have been great in an ocean pen.I am sort of sorry this cruise won't be stopping at Curacao. They had a great little aquarium with a dolphin excursion and swim. We booked the swim directly and it was MUCH cheaper than other places, and much cheaper than the DCL excursion at the same place. The dolphins were in an ocean pen (VERY large) with a rock wall which they could have easily jumped over, but they seemed very happy and well taken care of. My DD was in a group of 4 and they had 3 dolphins for their group (2 adults and a baby). They were in the water with them for a long time, and the families were welcome to stand right there and take photos or video. They also took professional video and our group bought one DVD. It was a fantastic experience. Perhaps Aruba will have something like that.

I know -- I had quite a bit of trouble with the math (remember, I am a simpleton) when Lisa asked for kids' ages. Did she want their current age? Their age on the cruise? And Thing 2 (DS-currently-10) has a birthday ON the cruise.

We're pretty much doing the same, tax return, DH's year end comp time payout, next years return and hopefully year end bonus for me. But I thought I would also make monthly payments - this way I'm earning interest on some of the money and if I need it for something else, I have it.
The chocolate souffle? That's my fav! Well actually the Grand Marnier souffle is too. Who am I kidding? I like em all!!!
Hope it wasn'y too cold for you today Andy. It was windy to.
We found that our kids couldn't really use the Castaway Club lanyards on the last cruise. Either the lanyards were too big, or the kids too little. The lanyard would either slide off the shoulder or trip them up when they were walking. Ultimately, I would end up carrying them, so I was quite quick to pack them away.
Also, DH *must* wear an ID lanyard for work, so he wants to be lanyard-free on vacation.
Since we will be spending a good deal of time in the pool and on beach excursions, I'd really prefer something that can be worn in the water. The bracelet idea appeals to me. Even if the bracelets are too big for the kids' wrists (as our CC ones were), they will be more than happy to put them on an ankle.
I usually don't pay until like maybe a month before the due date or something like that. I can pay last minute because I'll pay with my credit card (and then pay the credit card off with the money I saved- without accruing any finance fees or charges and this way I get the points on my card for the entire cruise amount!) -so I don't usually pay it early. That way all my money is earning interest up until I pay the bill off, and I'd have all of it if I need it for something else but perish the thought! I have no intentions of giving up this cruise.![]()
Don't tap the top -- tap the SIDES.
You see, when a can is shaken, bubbles of gas form on the inside of the can. When you open the can, the pressure goes down and the bubbles expand, forcing out the soda. Tapping the sides all around dislodges the bubbles.
I learned this at a science experiment with our Cub Scout troop. The guy shook up a can of pop (born in PA, living in IL, so it is pop again) and had one of the kids aim it at his parent. He flicked the sides of the can all around with his finger and it did NOT explode.
