8/17/08 Captain Jack's Repossession Repo Cruise to PC thru TPC Part 3

How are you going to get from DL to San Pedro? If you use a private transfers company that will allow for a stop on the way, there's a Costco near the port.

Susan we have talked about hiring a bus..or 2 or 3 to pick up those of us at DL and take us to the port.

Honestly, I don't care what color we have....although black is slimming!

They say that about vertical stripes too, but I've never seen any skinny zebras.

That's what I thought on the last cruise- and even with the "unique"ness of our shirts- I still failed to see more than a COUPLE of people in the port. It was a disappointment. But fortunately we had a DIS meet planned right around the drill time- so we finally got to see people we knew from DIS!

(I like the idea of a little something on front and something on back- that's how our shirts were. However, that might be a little difficult to match up to if we're all doing iron on transfers and unable to get the shirts mass produced and purchased)

Look. Maybe I can think up something very crazy looking or unique and y'all can just come up to ME so I don't have to go hunting y'all down?

(ps. I don't mean to sound like I'm being difficult just for the sake of being difficult. I'm honestly concerned about not seeing anyone. I was all hyped up to see people from DIS on the last cruise and we had TONS of people on that cruise as well- but we were sorely disappointed in that aspect. I rarely saw anyone and the few people I saw were the same few people over and over. Besides the dismeet as we took off from PC- I only saw the same few people over and over the entire cruise. And then we had the snafu with our table not linked with the group- so we weren't having dinner "with" the group either. I just don't want that to happen again. Don't make me have to hunt you down by room numbers knocking on doors and slapping big stickers on your foreheads so I can find you later on. Ya hear me?)

It really sounds like that was just a fluke of the cruise last time for you. I know that we started having DIS meets in WDW at dinners before our cruise then when we were in the parking lot at 10 am waiting to be let in at the terminal we all got out of our cars in our green shirts & had a meet right there. LOL! I felt sorry for anyone who had one of our shirts on (from DD.com) that day because they were being asked if they were on the DIS. There were tons of us there that day...but we all got there early so maybe that makes a difference? We ate lunch in PC and even when they had stopped letting people in there because they were full....they let "the green people" in. We saw people all over the place on that cruise...including dinner & the shows.

I agree with not wearing black in the summer. I like the idea of lime green bracelets. They will definitely be seen.

Speaking of paper...Has anyone found magnetic paper (other than the internet) lately....

I know before our Dec trip i tried Walmart but they didn't have it.....

I found mine at WM before the last cruise.

Maybe we could have 2 iron ons for the shirts! We could do the big logo in front, and then something else on the back...like the phrase "Take what you can, and give nothing back!" on the back of the shirt?
I'm sure there's a way that we can all identify one-another no matter what color we're all wearing.

ETA: YAYY! Finally got one!

I like that idea. We did the big iron on on the back of the shirts last time. Maybe have Take what you can on where the pocket would be on the front & give nothing back on the back with the logo under it?

Todd, get a grip there man! I know this is killing you! Maybe if they promise to stick with primary colors and no pastels? Would that help? We will have to board the ship with your family. Wouldn't one of those banners look great if we were holding it for the embarkation pictures?

Do you know last repo an add on DCL package came available later that was for three nights at a DL resort, and transfers if required. I and many people used it, they took your luggage from the hotel rooms and next you saw it was on the ship. You were free to go into the park early then they laid on light refreshments and we went in Disneyland coaches to the port, left about 11am from DL.

They played videos of the forthcoming repo cruise on it.

I am sure they will do it later this year as its a bit early to book DL now.

I think it was 5/6 coaches lots of dissers and 'others' on it.

I'm with ya on that - there is NO WAY that I'm not going on this cruise because of some school activity when school is not even in session.

The ship leaves LA on Sunday, Aug 17 and returns to PC on Monday, Sep 1.

We also plan on flying out on Thurs, Aug 14 and going to DL and Legoland.

Okay - back to work - keep warm!

I am going to have to look into Lego land. My DS would go crazy there!

O.K., here's a thought on the whole no rooms available through DCL right now and WL people supposedly getting rooms.

Do you think by the end of this week, the GTY's and those that want to switch their location will have a chance? IC should (yeah, that is a big should) clear that WL by early this week, and once their 3 day deposit rule ends, maybe the ressies will open up.

Just a thought.

Maybe this is where some people were getting the 6th from. Although that wouldn't make sense since if cancellations/non-bookings cleared going into the 4th, it would be the 7th when the deposits would be due.

Well, here's hoping.

No I think that we are stuck where we are for now...and maybe just stuck. If they were transferring a quote to someone who was on their wait list that quote still had a due date of 2/3 for the deposit. The people who were on the WL should have been ready to pay the deposit right then.

Why am I just now seeing this for the first time? Is this something new or am I totally unobservant?

I think that it showed up after they switched to the new server system...an added benefit. At least I didn't notice it until after that.

OK, I just got in for lunch and I see I have about 10 pages to catch up on. It's a whopping -4 now with the wind chill and let me tell you, it has NOT been a picnic walking around this morning at all. About 11am my lungs actually started burning, but since I only had 20 more houses to finish I stuck it out and got them done.

I arrived home to find Hazel had a cup of hot chocolate waiting for me.

Now, I'm going back to see if I can get caught up.

Yes, that woman deserves to spend 20 days on that ship.

I hear ya (especially on the white, light pink, etc.) but the thing is- we're talking 5 people in my family and only ONE (dh) will ever wear that black shirt again. For one day that everyone is wearing it? (we're in Texas- you don't wear black here... atleast not the majority of the year. It's hot! I tell ya)
