That's sweet!

We tried to keep a WDW trip secret from Joe when we was 6 - we were going down for a long weekend, staying at AKL. We told him that we couldn't afford WDW but would go to Holy Land Theme Park - to make a long story short, the night before we were supposed to leave he fell and broke his elbow. He was in surgery when we were supposed to be on an airplane - TG for trip insurance!

You make a compelling arguement for ...

... getting trip insurance ... as much as this trip is costing it may be something to consider. I usually do not get TI.... but I have since found very affordable alternatives to Disneys' TI deals ...

and <respectfully> I'm very sorry to hear your surprise turned out to be so much more of a surprise for everyone - as it did. You'll now get a chance to make up for some of that "incovenience" with this voyage, eh?!

How AWFUL! I hope his elbow has healed well. I'm sure that was both scary & disappointing.

Welcome aboard! Maybe our DSs can hang out. He'll be 3 at time of sailing as well...uh, assuming I don't kill him! This morning he decided to stuff what was left of his breakfast into the cup holde on his highchair and then feed it to the dog! :sad2: :rotfl: As DW said "He's lucky he's so cute!" :lmao:

:rotfl: I can relate!! Boys... they sure know how to test their mommies and daddies!

This is just :scared1: !

Poor plumber who gets sent to fix the problem will come in looking like this:

th_AA801.jpg

Well...

... ya might not have a plumbin' problem if you would just reach into the potty and reorient the thing vertically so it would flush. And while you're at it - maybe slice it into smaller chucks with the good ol' fork n' knife!!!

<chuckles>

Thanks for the great list of tips Andrew.
Do you recall how much the photo packages were in 2005? Any idea how many photos are included?

I cannot remember price I went for a package of 20 and very quickly used that up so extended it and traded up. I think that was $150 not sure, they do really tempt you with lots of pics this trip and you will want them.

Have posted before but I really like this one from shutters taken by their photographer at the lock.

I think various packages 5/10/15/20/25/30 etc.

Ok...we'll be sure to add her to the list of those who need OCPD intervention...

Add my DW as well. This time however she is going crazy. She always as ONE when I first tell her about a new trip. This time she still is working the one for this summer and she has to start a second on for Repo.

pst! It's Drink up me harties, YO HO! ;) pirate:

Speaking of which! Opened a box (we still have oh, maybe 50 boxes left :faint:) and what do we have here? A bottle of Appleton rum and Don Lorenzo banana rum from Jamaica, Southern Comfort, Sauza Tres Generaciones from Puerto Vallarta, a small bottle of Absinthe from St. Maarten and a couple of bottle of Anasazi Fields wine. What I really need ;) is a good margarita when the ship pulls away from the Port of LA!

Awwww....

.... I have a 110 pound pooch residing in our home - so what's a matter with a few table scraps for the cuddly critter anyway?

Well... now that I'm thinking about it - it was just last nite that my DS came over to offer me stern words over my inattentivness. I had left a kitchen cabinet door open/ajar while getting some cookies for "the road" ... and now "the dog" (spoken with predicable drama) has a package outside which he took through the dog door and there is a gaping cavity on the cabinet shelf... so what is missing I was asked by my spouse? She can be very playful as she asked... and this was only somewhat playful in nature (unfortunately). She finished by reminding me that "THAT DOG" eats far more then the cost of his dog food in what he steals... then in the distance I could hear her admonishing him "Bad Dog"!!!.

Later he came over to me seeking a little love. He got hugs from me.

So I called DCL because I wanted to double check that we were waitlisted for early dining (we are) and thought I would ask again about room assignments.

Of course I got the standard when you get your doc's or 10-14 days out. So I said to the woman that people are already getting room assignments -first she told me they must of had their room assignments all along, so I told her no these are people on this same cruise who were GTY and now have a room. Then she said, well as rooms open up you get it. So I attempted to clairfy that I could know my room assignment prior to the doc's. No, I wouldn't know until I got the doc's 28 days out or 10-12 days prior to crusing:confused3 - so what about when others cancel and rooms open up? What about this cruise in particular that went to GTY status prior to all rooms being assigned? Rooms will be assigned when your doc's are mailed to you 28 days out or 10-12 days prior to sailing?:confused3

I know this is all DCL official lingo but I really hate all this double talk and wish DCL would give all their CM's the right info!

On the 2005 PC repo docs went out early, or maybe I got mine early living in the UK, I had them about one month before the cruise.

Now I remember checking the DCL site after 90 day pay up date but before the tickets went out and one day the stateroom number was there.

May 2005 tpc trip we had a budget of $400 for on-board photos. Actual spent was $611.50.

don't forget to budget for the set, or multiple sets, of the pins.

Yes Laura needs to join Friends of Lisa G.

When I found out that they print every photo they take :faint: I thought to myself "That's awfully wasteful and expensive." But then I saw the prices of the photos!

It's a good thing they have the photo release so we could get reprints from Sam's!

They make a mint on this one would be nice if they could photopass you and not print but you could bring up on a computer or in your room and order.

I share your fustration... as I imagine many of us do....

... or at least those who have guarantee assignments. I have 9 cabins in my group now - and 8 are guarantee assignements - plus the one assignment (mine) is NOT what I want.

To be fair to DCL - this particular sailing is not like most other sailings - no question about it. And I only can hope that they sort throught this in an equitable manner. I really don't think DCL does this intentionally with the boiler plate - and the slipped acknowledgements that folks ARE getting their assignments .... somehow.

At any rate - we'll just have to wait an' see how this unfolds, eh?
