And BTW all you Brooklyn/Staten Island/NYCer's out there - I'm originally from Queens - LIC/Astoria area. I no longer have the accent most of the time but give me a drink or two and it comes right back out!

A Deacon's daughter - the Captain oughta have a ball with that one! (and with a tarnished halo no less)

It could be worse - I'm the daughter-in-law of a Deacon! An Episcopalian daugter-in-law of a Deacon at that.

DH only has one brother :confused3

This will probably go into the abyss of skimmed posts but oh well my 2 cents.............
On the ship there are 2 groups for that 10 yo age:
A group of 10-14
A group for 10-12
I know this sounds crazy but the way the new set up is they have this group of free time with a few activities going on with the 10-14 yo kids. This is where I put my 10yo and he was treated like a baby or so he said. A cm I know really well came over to us and asked me about changing him to the other group which is mostly in the lab. I was relieved to know about it and Drew went there from then on . He loved the CM's with that group in fact he writes them. Have a box to mail this week to them. You will find that in this group the younger kids tend to hang out......the older kids want to be in OC.

MaryRose you have to choose no email notification when you post. It's under additional options.

Testing it out.

Thanks Diane, do I need to do this with every post? Thanks again for your help!

Listen, we were close neighbors in Aug. but i couldn't get anywhere near that location this time. I so love AFT. So am I reading you right that you got the same cabin as in Aug.! So glad we're cruising together again pal!

MR

Nope I am not kidding ...they do have a topless area on the Adult Beach at CC ....

pirate:

Hmm, I did not know that.
Perhaps it was divine intervention that caused us to not have time to even venture near that area even though we went on a double dip cruise and were at CC twice.
LOL

I can see the older kids treating the 10 yo's like babies - there is 4 year age difference and at these age's it is HUGE! I'm hoping that Joe won't be insensitive to kids younger than him, but we all now how that ends up going.

You got it Maureen!!!

Listen, someone please help me stop the email INSANITY!! I keep unsubscribing to the thread but email keeps pouring in by the bucket load. Can someone help me please?

MR

Next time you post, before you hit reply, in the subscription options, choose No Email Notification. You'll still be subscribed to the thread, but you won't get the emails. Then from that point on, the default in that selection will be the no email thing.

Judy that's good to know because I will have and 11 & 14 y/o on the cruise so it would be great if they can actually be together.

See not skimmed! ;)

Ok thats it I'm done .......falling asleep in the keyboard:wave2:

THAT IS PRICELESS!

I want to be an Episcopalian. However, I want to drink a Prespertian. Okay, my spelling has gone straight to heck! Seriously though, my DD went to nursery school at our local Espiscopalian Church and I loved the community.

The 10-14 group is really just in the Ocean Quest, isn't it? I didn't think age 14 was allowed in the lab and I didn't think the 10/11yr olds were allowed in with the teens- so it has to be talking about the OC, right?

For SURE I'm going to have my son in the lab with 10-12yr olds. I already think that he's too young to be with 12yr olds, I wouldn't dream of trying to put him with 13/14yr olds because he WOULD be a baby compared to them. There wouldn't even have to be "treating" him that way- he literally is a baby -such a huge difference in size, maturity, development, etc. from 10 to 14yr olds. (which 10 could be barely 10, 14 could be almost 15- which makes the gap really huge, in my opinion)
