8/17/08 Captain Jack's Repossession Repo Cruise to PC thru TPC Part 2

We're doing the kayak and snorkel tour that we originally booked in 2005 and couldn't go because of the hurricane!

Do the servers work both late and early dining ? Maybe we can ask for him too

We've never had REALLY bad servers, just not great Besides, the servers we had back in 2006 seemed new, so maybe (if they are still there) they are better now

I always have excellent servers on both ships.

Can you actually request a server in the dining room? We loved ours ...he was a riot!

Absolutely -- after we were on the Med cruise, we had 10 days in France and then went back for the repo --- we went up to Palo's when we boarded to ask and we had already been assigned to him (we had asked our Head Server to arrange it) but if we had not we could have been changed.

Apparently in Florida they have a law regarding abandonment of property - we were 15 feet away getting food at a buffet!! With this in mind, the police weren't interested, eventhough I could see my property in the back of someones car.

After the police went I went back into the restaurant, grabbed the thief, dragged him outside, took him to his car and gave him 30 seconds to give me my property back or I told him I would break his face and legs (I was so angry I would have). By this time Helen was screaming at me to leave him alone as she had visions of me not returning to the UK the following day and spending some time in a Florida prison.

The thief started crying, returned my camera and lenses and begged me not to tell his manager what he had done.

I was so relieved to get my kit back, I agreed.

I think that is the first tme I have written this down but I have not given the name of the restauant or the name of the thief - other than to say it is part of a chain and in the LBV area, near DTD

Yes, they do! I highly recommend him, if he is on this cruise.

Brendan and I haven't really decided on excursions..you all are so organized! I hope he goes diving..doesn't like to leave me in foreign places to fend for myself....so I may have to find a friend to do something with..

Our last cabin steward wasn't good, either, unfortunately. I think it is hard to get enough people to work on the ship that can live up to everyone's high expectations.

David, I am glad you got your things back. It is a shame that it happened in the first place. I think I still would have told his manager--I am sure you were not the first or the last person he did this to. I know several people that have had their cars broken into in Fl. while eating--which is why I hate to drive around with luggage in my car on the last day. I am glad it ended well for you.

I saw a youtube video that showed some people kayaking in Alaska and then all the sudden a whale comes jumping out of the water and tossed the kayaker in the air some. He was fine but it would have scared me to death.
When we were on our whale watching boat we were tracking a pod of whales and they were going straight for a group on kayaks. That cured me!

Little tiny kayak- huge ocean- very, very wrong!
