I tried doing my own research, but I found myself just getting more anxious the more I read:rolleyes:

I went parasailing back in 92 when we were in Maui, but somehow being over the water made it seem safer:confused3

Which meeting location do you choose ?

I'm debating going along- wondering if I'll just feel really lame letting my anxiety get in the way while I'm waiting hours for everyone to finish :confused3

I'm so thankful for all the research you guys did !!!

I'm actually afraid of heights, but I've been parasailing twice and enjoyed it, so I thought I'd give this a try with the family! From a few things I read on cruisecritic, it sounds like the los veranos was good for someone like me because you got used to the zipping before it got really high and long.

Sounds good to us too! Maybe we could share a couple of taxis to the tour office. :thumbsup2

Someone on cruisecritic also gave very detailed instructions how to use the bus to get to the office, which I believe was only $1 per person!

DS is still in the hospital. Doc says no earlier than Monday, but probably won't even be coming home then. Sad to say, I've seen him get worse, not better, since he's been in.

Prayers to you and your son, Monica!

Happy First Anniversary to All!

I wasn't here yet - I was boarding the Magic one year ago today, so I didn't join this thread until we were back...

Cherie and I gave the girls a coupon for a puppy for Christmas so today we finally found one at a local adoption. He is only 6 weeks old so we can't take him home yet but it was fun to see him. He is a mix but probably has some lab and maybe some cocker.

that puppy is so cute, he looks a little sad, but all the sadness will go away when you are able to take him home

Some friends of mine just did this over Christmas vacation -- they have a 10 year old daughter in Meredith's class. She let go during one of the zipline runs and just sailed on, slightly tilted back, to the next platform. Although I don't recommend it to my girls (:scared1: ) I do think that you are in extremely securely regardless of whether you hang on.

If you can overcome your fears, you should try to do it . . . my friend said it is seriously like being a bird, flying above the trees -- a truly unique experience.

i will love to do a zipline excursion but there is no way my wife is going to do it

We had a great time at WDW and we got a Dream. In fact, it turned into a Double Dream.

We were talking to a Dream Squad CM, who offered us a private meet and greet with Cinderella. I knew my DD and my Mom would be thrilled, so of course I accepted, and we managed to keep it a secret from both of them. My Mom was so excited when we went through the curtains and she saw Cinderella that she was crying. Here's a picture of the family:

The CM could tell that the boys were a little less than enthused with the meeting. I guess that's what happens after years of princess breakfasts. He said to meet him at the pirate tutorial in Adventureland, since that was something that the boys would enjoy.

We met up with him about 15 minutes before the show, so we could be sure to be right up front. The show was really fun. We all enjoyed it, and the kids all "joined" Captain jack's crew at the end of the show.

We thought that it was cool, and were about to leave. the CM said he had one more thing to show us, so we followed him across the street to a CM only backstage door. He opened it up and told the boys to go in, and we all followed. They walked along a pathway, and guess who popped out to surprise us all???

Captain Jack Sparrow!!!!

We had a nice little private Meet and Greet with the good captain, and his mate Mack from the pirate tutorial show. They posed for pictures and gave us autographs and chatted with us for a few minutes. It was a really fun experience. Here are a couple pictures:

WOW - that is really cool.................I bet you all were thrilled!

How discouraging:guilty:
Sometimes things need to get worse before they can get better:confused3

OMG, he is so cute:lovestruc
I really want a dog so badly, but our oldest cat is sick and I need to wait:confused3
I've heard that a cockerspaniel/lab mix is a very good combo:thumbsup2
Who's going to watch him while you are away ?

I've signed up Darren, Andrew and Kelly for this zipline trip last night:thumbsup2

I have some issues with anxiety in general that I need to resolve before I can do or even plan something like this for me though:confused3 :)
I am toying with just signing myself up as an observer. How long is the actual zipline part and can I use the water slide, rope swing, etc while they zipline ?

Pluto, Maybe your wife and I can hang out while you and the rest do the zipline:goodvibes
Or I may need a shopping buddy if I decide to do something else instead:confused3 (I don't want to sit around waiting hours for the zipline to finish if I don't have something fun to do:confused3 )

I wonder what zipline company Disney is going to use? As it sits right now,I'm gonna hafta use OBC to pay for it.

This something I have been thinking about since I was talked into a puppy. Cherie's DS may take him and as a backup we are already working on a list of house sitters.

As mentioned, DD7 is questionable for the zipline. If she bails DW and DD7 will be joining you at the water slides. Yes if you are an observer you can use the facilities. We actually ate at this restaurant back in 1993 long before ziplines were around.
