On my Megan's birthday! I knew there was something special about it. ;)

Andy, our little Angelina turned three yesterday. princess:

Hi Roger. I loved your blogs about the restaurants in the resorts. Any recommendations for in-park restaurants? Either must-do ones or the ones to avoid. I know we're going to try to get reservations at Blue Bayou, but I don't really know anything about the other restaurants, and we'll be there for a few days.

Mike DL is not WDW when it comes to dinning. :sad2:

Disneyland:

Blue Bayou menu This is by far the best restaurant at DL. Downside is that the menu is limited and it is expensive but you can't beat the view and atmosphere.

Cafe Orleans menu Good food almost across the street from Blue Bayou. Seating inside and out. Good food and cheaper than BB.

Carnation Cafe (Mainstreet) menu Breakfast look great though never eaten there for breakfast. Lunch and dinner are good. Limited menu. Seating is outside.

California Adventure

Ariel's Grotto menu. This is a Princess dinning experience. You get to meet most of the princesses here. Seating inside and outside. Outside is on the lake which is really nice in summer. This is a Prix Fixe meal which is not bad for the money.

Wine Country Trattoria menu This is recently become our favorite lunch spot but would work well for dinner. Inside and outside seating. Very peaceful and give you the feel of being at a winery.

Vineyard Room at the Golden Vine Winery menu This may be the best in park dining at either park but we have never eaten here. This would not be some place for the kids. It is located above the Wine Country Trattoria.

Other than these we are talking counter service at both parks.

Ok, Coral I am with you on this one. :thumbsup2 Everything that I read indicated that this was the best one too. Like we were saying in chat I think we will get DD7 a full ticket and hope she does well. If not Cherie will take her down to the swimming area.

So, are we doing the 11am with Julie? :confused3 PM or let me know. :thumbsup2

11:00 sounds perfect with me! I was leaning toward booking directly on their site. You have any preferences? Also, one of the reasons I posted the link I did was because there are specific pictures that show kids. Apparantly since they are too light to get the zip moving in all spots, they go in tandem with a guide. That will help Miranda a lot. I am not so worried now. Maybe your youngest will consider that.

Ok, now where is our "Roger graphic" of Roger ziplining? :rotfl2:

For anyone planning to be in DL anyway, it would be fun to plan an evening to get together and watch Fantasmic . . . if you want the section where you sit near the river, you have to get there early anyway and that would give everyone plenty of time to chat . . .

That is a great idea! We will be at the Disneyland Hotel on the 12th, we are so excited! :)

I got nothing for Cabo that is remotely interesting and that an 8 yo can do. Anyone else found anything interesting?

We don't have anything planned either. Last time we were there in 2005 we took the boat ride out around the arcos. It was fun but been there done that. We are thinking that a day at the beach may be in order. Medano Beach looks to be one of the most popular. I would love to go to Lover's Beach but there are no facilities there. Medano Beach supposedly has hotels, bars and restaurants on the beach. There is also a mall in the harbor area that may be fun to visit and grab some lunch if it is too hot. Puerto Paraiso Mall

Just skimming, but wanted to make a comment on Walmart. I've been to that one. Spent a week in PV a few years ago. Anyway, I used my Debit Card with no problems. Just let my bank figure out the exchange rate. Don't remember alcohol there, but I wasn't looking for it either? The main focus of my visit was to get clothes since the airline lost our luggage (well not lost but took it off the plane, but that's a long story).

Also found this about gift cards...looks like a no

DS is still in the hospital. Doc says no earlier than Monday, but probably won't even be coming home then. Sad to say, I've seen him get worse, not better, since he's been in.

Is there a group that is doing this, and is everyone just booking on their own through the site? Would my 15 year old son be able to go on his own? I do not think he would like to go tandem with a guide. :lmao:

Sounds good to us too! Maybe we could share a couple of taxis to the tour office. :thumbsup2

Sorry to hear that Monica. I hope they can find a solution. :grouphug:
