I found out that I was never in Queue!

I waited on the phone for 4+ hours for NOTHING!

To Say the Least, I am not a very happy person right now!

DCL really dropped the ball again!

I'm still waiting to hear from my TA so I don't even know if I got anything, but I'm really questioning if I want this anymore. The prices are ridiculous. I desparately want to do a Panama Canal cruise, but at this rate, it will be with another cruise line.

I refuse to get upset at this point - it's just not worth it. I have decided that no matter what I have/had to give up at this point, I'm going on this cruise and will have a GREAT time.

In many ways, I blame DCL for all this - they had to know what kind of response they were going to get this monring from past experience. Instead of booking all these tiers they could have just come up with an average price for each cat and charged that to everyone and still have made their money.

Lisa that is something only you can decide. I can tell you that the 2005 Eastbound Panama Canal cruise was AWESOME. Best vacation ever.
I was a bit shocked too that my same category stateroom is 2400 higher this time. But I guess DCL knew it would be popular and bumped up the starting prices accordingly.

OK, I'm having a little anxiety about transferring to DU. I don't want to bother them with little details because I know that they are busy as all get out!!
But here's my question: Given our situation with the whole adoption thing, I'm a little worried. We booked for us and a child of 3, knowing that 3 would be the age at which you pay full child price. So when we get our child and know his/her age at the time of cruising, we will need to have the reservation adjusted as such (name and age will have to be adjusted, etc).
I spoke with DCL, and they didn't seem to think it would be a problem to change it all later. SO will DU be able to do it just as well as DCL?

I hope that made enough sense...LOL

Wow! I have never seen anything like this in my life! I must of had dumb luck. Got online and was done in 15 minutes. It was slow at times and I was afraid that DCL would go down or that our server would go down!

I feel the same way. And reading this thread makes me keep double checking my reservations to see if they're really accurate. The only thing I did do in my rush was forget to request early dining, may try to switch, but no biggie. My wife actually preferred the late dining, but I really didn't care for it, as there's little left of the evening by the time you're finished at 10pm or so to enjoy and the kids were Konked out.


Also, just noticed the additional $25 OBC for booking online....

Thanks to whoever posted the idea of checking online under the original ressie #. I see that the TA was able to transfer our staterooms to the repo! Now the dreaded wait for the price tag e-mail.

Ohhh! I hadn't thought of doing this!!! I have a ressie # from rebooking onboard last month too... but now I am scared! Like I don't really want to know that my Cat 6 quad is going to cost me $10,500... Hope not!

My original price on the Westbound was 2000.00 cheaper than the Eastbound (Cat 10)

Imagine my shock when the TA corrected the ressie...

A friend who was also on hold and was dropped after said hours had IC call him and tell him!

He got a hold of me! I have sent emails and faxes!

I am in tears right now!

Oh right....it doesn't get above 70 in FL in May. Hurricanes happen more often in August than May. Nope, DCL can't use that illogical reason for this.

Oh, the one good thing that happened today is that at 9:10 early dining was booked but because we had main dining on our original resie that was transferred, the CM put us in main dining. Now to get everyone who wants to be switched over.

Yes, DU will be able to handle that for you.

I am trying to organize my data. I've been gathering price quotes on all the catagories for a double, triple with one age 4 child, and quad with age 4 and 7 children. I was awakened at 5:50 local time by a friend's phone call who I alerted to this and was personally managing her booking since before 5AM. She was lamenting over how her SIL and lerself had been dropped off the on-line booking system at 5:20 and 5:25 respectively. And they were each trying to complete their bookings but have noticed a nudge in the prices already. I had to admit I was sleeping and would take a look. From 5:50 I started gathering pricing info.

Maybe this afternoon I'll have compiled a comprehensive chart of how all the catagories moved in price as reported on the on-line engine. I have some work attend to as I simultaneously browse lightly here.

Shoot - I'm about 8 pages BEHIND the active page already!
