LOLSay...
... I must ask... how is it YOU got 3 tags from the tag fariy with under 1000 postings - and I have 3000+ postings and NO tags? What gives![]()
Your sig is currently fine & you would be able to add the group picture as well.
![]()
LOL
Who knows.
You should join my little known club of "unlucky people without tags".
Now after I post this, I shall see how many posts I have. I'm betting it's a lot.![]()
LOLI don't feel so bad now...
... thanks... and to think, you're a sponsor too!
![]()
LOL
And I'm lifetime!!!
But I just keep telling myself I don't have a tag now because it would interfere with my completely neato sponsor avatar there. Yeah, that's the ticket... stay in denial. LOL
First post here for me. I initially thought I'd wait and see if we get a cabin on Wednesday, but after I spent about 4 hours last night flipping through pages 1-183 last night, and finally catching up tonite, figure I need to at least say "hey".
My DW is expecting to finish her PhD by early next year, so this will be a little dangling carrot out there for her=
with
. We would be bringing our DDs, who will be ages 9 and 7 at sailing. We have one DCL cruise under our belts, a 7-day Eastern in Jan 2005.
Because of the $30,000+ we have/are investing in wife's PhD, we'll probably look at somewhere around a Cat 9 & 10 for budget reasons (depending on cost and availability on Wed.). Wife actually was wanting to do Atlantis in Nassau for her graduation celebration. I started pricing out the cost of that trip. Atlantis rooms were $400-500/nt and up, but no food or entertainment included, so figuring another $200/day for food/entertainment for 4 and just one week there would probably run us close to $4,500 or more. Thought that two weeks on Magic for a little more and a visit to 4 different countries sounded more tempting.
I did skim the entire thread page by page. It looks like a fabulous group (and quite a bit of competition on Wednesday). Actually have a couple things in common with CBJHOCKEYNUT. First, we are Columbus Blue Jacket PSL holders & Fans. Also, I'm 99.99% sure you're daughter plays on the same hockey team with my nephew. He is on a team called the Wild and is number 27. I only realized when you mentioned your daughter scored a goal last weekend and I thought "Hmm....my parents mentioned that the girl on Drew's team scored a goal". I talked to my sister tonite after they went to the Sabres game and she confirmed that she knew your family was missing tournaments for an upcoming Disney cruise and did one about every year.
So I was shooting the breeze with one of my Security folks today after reading about this repo. I was joking around about foreign travel reporting requirements...
So while this may cause them some paperwork, I really don't care!
Me: "Say xxxx, is 20 months' notice was sufficient notice for foreign travel?"(We have to provide 30 days notice or ASAP for las minute trips.)
JG:"Uh sure, but I think you should wait until a little closer to your trip! Hell I may not even be here come next year. Uhhhh how is it that you can have trip dates for a vacation in late 2008?"
Me: "Oh, well it's a Disney Cruise! Went on one before and it was great! This is a special one because the are going to sail out of California for a while so there are two 2-week cruises through the Canal to repo.. reposition the ship."
JG: "A cruise? Sounds expensive! Canal...the Panama Canal? You're going to Panama?"![]()
Me: "Well if you think about it, a cruise is more cost effective than an air/hotel/destination-based vacation...plus you only have to unpack once!Yes, the Panama Canal but no, we're not stopping in Panama. The ports of call are Cabo, Puerto Vallarta (we went there for our anniversary), Mazatlan or Acapulco I forget which, then through the Canal with a stop in Cartagena and then on to Disney's private island in the Bahamas and finally back into Port Canaveral, Florida. So if you think about it, we'd spend a LOT more money flying around to those places plus hotel costs etc."
JG: "Okay that soun----wait! Did you say Cartagena? Cartagena, COLUMBIA?!?!?"![]()
![]()
Me: "Well of course Columbia silly...Cartagena, Spain is totally out of the way! Besides, that's a different set of repo cruises!"![]()
JG:"Dude! Why do you have to cause me so much @^&#% trouble!? (heh heh long story there) Do you know what kind of paperwork I have to process because you want to go to @@%$# COLUMBIA?!?!?!?"
![]()
Me: "Well look, it's a Disney Cruise! Nothing is going to happen to us. Hell, I'm not even taking my gun. And it's not like we're staying there for a week! The ship only stays in port for 8-10 hours at most."
JG:"Harumph!! Well we'll have to talk more about this later--like when 2008 rolls around! Toublemaker!"
I'm getting on that ship and they aren't going to stop me!!

Thanks, I am another one who doesn't understand that byte thingy. If I get rid of my cheer logo could I add pirate logo and repo ticker?
I am Sooooo difficult I know. As soon as this baby is booked my post will reflect it.![]()
