OK, wierd picture in my head of pirate practicing yoga on the beach. THERE's a challenge for you Crash!

I'm adopting that mantra- because for us it really IS a trip of a lifetime. This will probably be our last cruise for a really long time (mostly because of our children's ages and not keen on having very young teens with nothing to do but hang out with much older teens-and by the time one is old enough, the next one is in the same situation as a young teen just hanging out with older teens... and then again with the 3rd child LOL). So it really is a tripofalifetime. Even if we cruise again- our children will be much older or we'll be cruising alone after they are grown!

As each set of rooms are sold it's called a tier at one price. The 2nd tier is more money and 3rd tier ect. It's all based on supply and demand of what % of staterooms gets sold at that time. I didn't ask at what tier my room was because quite frankly I just didn't want to know.

But how are people finding out what tier pricing their rooms are? Does it show them that online or something? Or they ask and DCL tells them?

I probably won't know exactly what tier pricing my rooms are at -when I find out if and what rooms I have!- but I'll have a pretty good idea- especially if it's more than what I have read here earlier in the day for similar bookings to what I want. I hear you on not wanting to know though- would be a bummer to see you are paying more than you had to if you got in on tier one pricing.

sk8tingmom-I like the way you think! I have many rationalizations up my sleeve if necessary also. LOL
although I do have to agree with some others that have posted recently- I do have my limits. If the cost goes over what it would have cost us for 2 back to back cruises with the same rooms- I'm probably out.

I have been watching the prices and on a Cat 5 they have gone up 1000.00 since we booked ours

I think we are out. With this last price jump it is just too much. I should have booked online at 8:05 instead of trying to keep my OBD. I would of saved a couple thousand. I can't seem to make myself hang up but I think that I am out. At least they changed the song.

Lisa: Doesn't it just make sense if you have a TA working on it to let them work for you ? If IC would have just called people before the 31st alot of this wouldn't be happening but then again look how much $$$ DCL is making ?

Unfortunantly DCL knows that this is popular and they hiked the prices. That along with the double bookings is making this one hard.

Oh no fair if people are doing double bookings! Do you really think that is going on? So unfair- that would definitely drive up the prices and in the past DCL has never DROPPED prices, have they? I always thought it went up and up from the day the dates first came out.

Ok, we're IN Just wondering if this sounds like an honorary pirate move ... since I had no OBD or OBC to try and save, I jumped on the home computer at 8:03 this morning. By 8:33, I was printing my confirmation for my Cat 9 stateroom 2618 ... this after DH telling me, "You're GONNA need a window if we're going to be there for 15 nights." after I had given him the price for the Cat 10. Here's where the quasi-pirate move comes in ... I had been talking to a friend we've cruised with in the past about the cruise, she said, "When you're booking yours, can you book ours too?" I said sure ... but didn't book them this morning because I was already too late for work w/o warning them Once I got to work, I called her and said, "Jump on line, I had no problems you should be good!" She ended up with the stateroom right next door at 2620.

NOW that it's official ... I should probably introduce myself ... I'm Kandi and I will be sailing w/my DH and our two boys who will be 9 and 12 on this cruise. Happy to be official and Happy to be sailing with you all

Our unofficial UNDEAD monkey offers his "welcome aboard mate" greetings and congratulations on getting your cabin (cat 9) so early in the ruckus. You're obviously very lucky as some folks are still sorting through their arrangements.

And for those still on hold or sorting through the details... I hope things are panning out well or will turn out OK with your expectations...

I got my news from the TA, and she got us a cat 9 quad ... which was priced for 2 adults, plus 4 and 7 year olds. No transfers or insurance ... and I am looking at $6796 plus change. TO soften the blow this has yet to be adjusted for OBD of 10% estimated at about $600 off and the OBC.

Because we have 3 or 4 siblings plus "others" coming with their families we're sort of locked into going no matter the cost. Some of the "others" are DIS neighbors too. Hey... we all know a gang this size and this LOUD is gonna make the sailing like no other in 2008, right?

So, I know other folks are paying less... and I just noticed that contrary to my last posting I can clearly see the prices moving up, with catagories 6 and 7 (as a quad) sold out apparently as no price is even quoted any longer... so possibly some folks paid more then us... and I hope no one is still holding to secure a catagory 6 or 7 quad. Odd how they are still offerring TRIPLES in cat 6 and 7 though. It must be the life boat capacity drsigned into the various quad capacity cabins that is exhausted???

Oh well... so be it.

On the 2005 repo we couldn't get the room cat we wanted. We waited until just after the deposits where due and called back. It appears quite a few people let their reservations go just by not paying their deposits and we were able to upgrade to the room cat. we wanted.

Did you have to pay the current price or the tier you booked at originally? I am thinking about transferring to a 10 to lower our cost but if it is at the new price, it will be more than what we are paying for an 8. Hope this makes sense.
