Mike, so sorry for your loss. I know it's hard, but you will get through it and still have all your memories.

On a sad note, my grandmother passed away last night. She was sick and in a lot of pain for a while now, so it is good to know that she is at peace. it's still hard on the rest of us though.

I'm so sorry for your loss.

No,they won't...we asked. Since it did not damage the house or any other property,we're on our own. We are looking at ice damage for the roof though.

The tree isn't considered property...hhhmmm....... What a pain!

Then obviously you are not drinking enough.

You know what they say: "Give a man a fish, he'll eat for a day. TEACH a man to fish, and he'll spend the day in a boat drinking beer".

You've deep sea fished with dh, his brother and his dad? :rotfl: I believe the drinking starts as soon as you step on the boat at about 8am.......

A woman I used to work with was from India, she joined in the secret santa at work one year and I asked if she celebrated Christmas, and she said she celebrated everything.

She said she especially liked Christmas for the gifts and Ramadan for the feasting but she said she didn't do the fasting bit to go with it.

She did say she was probably more Hindi than anything but she was in for having a bit of every religion in her life. :)

I think I would prefer the feasting over the fasting myself! LOL!

Hello everyone!

Sorry I've been MIA for so long. Life just has a way of messing with the fun stuff.
I've still been going to therapy 3 days a week and trying to stay caught up at work and all.

We won't be going on our NCL Christmas cruise this coming Thursday. My husband had an accident at work and had to have surgery, so it's best that he not travel right now. Sooo...we've switched to planning a nice quiet Christmas at home, which is definitely okay with me. I'm just glad we'll all be together, and that he's okay.

Mike, I'm sorry for your family's loss. I agree...even though you know her pain has ended, it is still hard.

Stace, sorry to hear about your DH. Having an accident and needing surgery does not sound good. Hope everything is OK. Sorry to hear about missing your trip too. Quiet Christmas' at home can be the best kind.

Sorry about canceling your cruise and your DH's accident. I know you were looking forward to it. I hope your DH recovers quickly and you feel better soon too. :grouphug:

There are links on the website, under the Itinerary tab for Puerto Vallarta including a video and more info on the adventure.

Thanks for the info. After reading this article I really need DD to take a serious look at the video. She tends "freak", and while I would love her to challenge herself, if after the test run and isn't able to cut it, guess who will be SOL???

I have been collecting names of all pirate: s interested in doing a Puerto Vallarta Zipline excursion (Non-DCL). I will try to add new ones as I see them but best to PM me if you are interested. Once we get a little closer We can get in touch with the vendor to arrange a time. This is who I have so far.

The good news (beside the fact that he's okay) is that he has agreed to join me in March at Disneyland for the big Meet & Greet!

I guess I should go ahead and say what happened, rather than leave everyone wondering. He had a go-around with a band saw and lost. He had to have the ends of two fingers amputated, just above the large middle joint. He will still be able to work his craft, the blacksmithing and ornamental work, he'll just have to wait a while for healing and to regain strength...and possibly just learn a different way of doing some things.

Thanks for your good thoughts, Roger and Mary Ann.

Paula,
Why do I get the feeling that there will be some form of fishing by Alan and Adam on your next trip.:)

Also

Johnna and I were planning our vacations for next year. We are taking a trip to WDW in March during Easter 2008 (Animal Kingdom Lodge, new DVC rooms) and Vermont in July 2008 (The Von Trapp Family Lodge) then the TOAL in August. It will be difficult for us with regards to time and kids in school to get down to Kentucky for the Derby this year. It is something I really want to do. Hopefully in the future one year. :)

Thanks for the invitation.

Peter, it is going to be a busy year for you all also. The AKL villas look wonderful. I told Alan we are gonna have to do a gv in '09 and take some of the extended family. I don't think they will do any fishing in January, but at HHI I know we are going shark fishing again. They did buy a boat this summer so I am sure that they will be on it every chance they get (I am SO GLAD they don't expect me to go:rolleyes1 )

Stace, how scary. Glad he's okay and he'll be able to continue working. And looking forward to meeting both of you in March. Seems like loosing finger tips is a hazard of craft work. My dad has 4 brothers. All of them, including my dad, have lost a tip or two. We tease them about it all the time.

That is very scary, Stacey. I am glad to hear he will still be able to work.

I want to know who I pissed off this year so I can apologize!! Enough is enough.

You do seem to be being put through the "ringer" lately:grouphug: . I hope your Son & your Mom feel better soon. I can't imagine trying to keep a 12-yr old in bed. I assume he has not been able to go to school either???

Mike, I am so sorry to hear about your grandmother.

Had a scare this morning. DS woke up and vomitted a few times this morning. This was one of the things we were supposed to look out for. The advice nurse suggested I take him in to his pediatrician. He didn't see anything wrong, but did another CT Scan and contacted the Pediatric Neurosurgeon who treated DS in the hospital. The scan didn't show any additional damage. But our Dr let us know the seriousness of the injury. It appears to be worse than I was led to believe.

I don't think the neurosurgeon purposely misled me, but a surgeon's beside manner is much different than a pediatrician's. Basically we were just trying to do to much. I've had him up and walking around too much. Yeah, you try keeping a 12 yr old boy down!! Anyway, we've got to get more bedrest. It's going to be several months before he is back to normal.

Oh, and got a call from my brother. He took my parents down south for the funeral. And my cousin asked him to perform the service. They are having some issues there as well. Someone tried to steal my brothers Suburban on Saturday. The repair shops were closed, so they couldn't get anyone to look at it today. And they needed to wait for someone else who can work on the steering column. So it may get fixed tomorrow, may not. No telling when they'll be able to come home.

AND

My mom took a tumble last night. Nothing broken, but she's pretty bruised up and has a few good sized (think grapefruit) knots on her hip and leg. She's on blood thinners so things look worse than they are. But she's in a lot of pain, but not really complaining about it. I'm not sure how she'll fare on a 8 hour drive home.

:scared1: :scared1: :scared1:

We're done now, right? We've had our share.

Stacy I'm so sorry to hear about your husband. Hopefully recovery will be quick. What's one less cruise anyway :confused3 You'll have a nice quiet Christmas at home together -- that's the important thing! :grouphug:

Great news about DL. :cool1: The story about what happened to Jay gives me the willies. As much as I love power tools stories like this scare me.
