I think we should have a toast to absent Friends!

We should definitely do something to celebrate . . .

Great idea. PAaaaaaarrrrrrrty!!!!

Hear, hear! I second (or third) that!

This sounds like a great idea!:thumbsup2 Can't believe that it has been almost been a year. After that can we start the "Are we there yet?"

You get the picture. I'm sure we'll do an excursion or two this time, I'm just not sure what. I really want to zipline, but DH and the boys don't.

On the 10 nt Southern Dh and I only did 1 excursions together. ;) I schedule all excursions and DH and I don't like to do the same things -- I hate the beach, he loves the beach. ;) I did 1 beach excursions with him so that all of us could be together -- I usually set it up so that we take turns being responsible for our youngest child. :thumbsup2

Happy Friday. I just found this thread and thought I would introduce myself and say hi.

My name is Heidi and my fiance is Chris. This cruise will be our Honeymoon and I am so excited to be able to go on a 15 day DCL cruise for our Honeymoon. My parents took the last East Repo cruise and loved it, so now I get the chance to go on it. This cruise will be my 7th DCL cruise, and Chris's 3rd DCL cruise.

This thread is a little overwhelming, but I hope to keep up with it and get to know everyone and figure out everything planned.

:yay: :yay: Heidi!!! I'm glad you *joined* us!!!

Heidi & Chris (and her parents) were on the 10 nt Southern with some of us already on this board -- Cheryl/John & David/Helen.

I think we need to do some  brainstorming about non-DCL excursions. I have heard several that want to go Zip-lining in PV but their kids are to young for DCLs version. There was a group a couple of 100 pages or so ago, there was a bunch of us talking about the pirate ship snorkel trip in Aruba. This was spearheaded by Mark (DisneyPilot) who has done this and highly recommended it. DCL does not have this listed. Anyway, I think it is time we have some kind of sign up list for those that would like to make up their own excursions. It still might be early but if we can get a rough head count we can contact the vendors as to availability. What do you say pirate: s?

Todd,

By the way I decided to give all the leather work on Nastassja's costume (ES AWE) a go myself. I bought 20 square feet of leather (half a cow) last week. It's very intricate. I just finished making my own patterns for the shoulder armor and belt with armor. Leather craft is cool. Never did it before but I feel crafty. We'll see what happens. I might be calling Toby if things don't work out.:)

I LOVE hearing this!!! If more people keep saying that I can go on LOTS more cruises!! :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: :thumbsup2

I wonder if DH was reading today......

Jo is a travel agent -- a terrific one! -- so I would expect her to have some insider information.

I believe that generally DCL sends the tux rental form when you get your paperwork -- perhaps others who have done it can give more information?

Roger, I think it may be a little too early for most of us to get that serious about planning excursions . . . I had contacted a private vendor a while back regarding horseback riding and was told to book at least a month in advance, but that made it seem to be as though I don't have to seriously look into these things until the spring, perhaps.

We're back from WDW. We had quite the challenge getting home on Tuesday (for that matter, we had a challenge getting to FL too). I wanted to share a few pictures with you. The first is my main Christmas tree. The second is the new DVC unit being built at AKL and last is a picture at the end of Holiday Wishes with the Castle all lit up with fireworks around it.

As Bellelinus said I got the information directly from DCL
They didn't show the info on the August one yet but hopefully soon

We would love to do one of the horseback riding but all through DCL say that minimum age is 12. My DS will be 11. Same DS would love to do a zipline but the rest of us are

On another note I had contacted the Dolphin excursion places both in Cabo and Puerto Vallarta, they are the same company, and both said that the entire day for both locations has been booked by the cruise line. Now I don't know if this is true or if they are just saying this but I plan on contacting them again in January just to ask if they have availability without letting them know I am on a cruise and see what they say

Sounds good -- you know, the fact that they list the cliff divers as an excursion suggests that the ship will leave later than 1 -- or that DCL is arranging an earlier show! The cliff divers usually have their first show at 1PM.

And I was looking at a nighttime excursion in Puerto Vallarta, and it specifically said that it was only available on the Eastbound Panama Canal repo cruise. So the fact that the Acapulco cliff diver excursion doesn't exclude our cruise may be a good sign. At least that's how I'm taking it...

We could trade families for the day. DH and DS want to do the Outdoor Adventure in PV....I will probably take DD to a beach. It would be an upgrade for my 2, as you are a much cooler mom than I am. :goodvibes

Every kid thinks that every other mom is much cool than the one they have. Grass greener and whatnot.

party: party: WELCOME!party: party:

Don't be intimidated by the thread, by the way, we're all basically a bunch of harmless goofballs and all relevant information will eventually be distributed in a less confusing way . . .

Wait wait wait! There is going to be relevant information?????

Oh no, wait, we did have the location of every liquor store within 2 miles of DL and every cake option served on the last repo. That's relevant, right?

Did anyone else find it odd? The amount of time Crash spent protesting his innocence BEFORE knowing what it was he was supposedly innocent of?

My kids do that too!

COOL idea! Santa will be giving this cruise. DS6 (then 5) insisted on giving Santa his cabin key from the Disney Magic last year so that Santa could go on the Disney Magic. Santa took it and left a thank you note. (Convincing DS10 - then 9 - that there really IS a Santa Claus.) This year, DS6 will receive this cruise in return.

Oh how fun!

Yet one more thing we have in common. We've had to find a middle ground where the whole roomate part of the marriage works. The funny thing is DS10 is definitely my son. And DS6 is definitely DH's. (He spends his time in the grocery story line resorting the candy bars.)

Yeah, takes a while to bang that Academy training outta 'em. Over the years, I've gotten neater and he's gotten messier, but he still insists that everything on his desk is at right angles.

Unfortunately, both the kids take after me!

Come with us!

I agree on finding your own way in port. I think it's more fun that way. Our last cruise we chartered a boat just for us for a combo snorkle / dive. (4 snorklers / 3 divers) It was the highlight of the trip! The boys thought it was great fun to snorkle in our bubbles.

That sounds like fun. The experience just seems so much more authentic if you aren't in a group of 50 other perople from the cruise ship.

We are actually kicking around the idea of chartering a boat/captain in the Caribbean for our 2009 vacation - go wherever we want to for a week or so. We just need to find a few friends to come along.

Here is the portion of the newletter that mentions the new entertainment activities.

So Swabbies vs. Wenches, right?

Umm, I mean, OK.

How did you find out that info? While we are sort of on the subject - anyone know if/how we can do tux rentals?

Nope, no tux rentals. None at all. Right Esteri?

OK, I'm sure there are tux rentals, but DH doesn't have to know that - it's part of Operation Uniform Arm Candy that Esteri and I have going on.

Check this out. Taken this afternoon.

Notice he's laying on a couch? Notice the blinds in the background? Notice the (undecorated) tree?

DS came home today.

He has to take it easy. Go back for another CT Scan in a few days. And follow up with the Neurologist in a week. But, he's home!

Dang ST. Wouldn't hardly eat in the hospital but asked for Micky D's this evening. Ate a small fries, cheesburger and chocolate sundae! That's more than he's eaten in an entire day. Yep, he's feeling better. :rotfl:

AAwww love the picture - glad he is okay!
