Hi everyone
I haven't really posted much on this thread but wanted to say hi to all.

We will be on the cruise with you
Me, DH, DD13, DS11

Can anyone fill me in on any fun activities planned. Hard to read through 5400 pages

I actually have a lot of people booked on this cruise and some of them post here. Looking forward to meeting you all. (Hi Bellelinus)

HI!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! We need to get you set up with our website, run by Tom31B . . . it is a more clear and less chatty listing of what we have planned and who is in charge . . .

You can also just ask me privately if you have any questions!

:cheer2: :cheer2: :cheer2: Welcome!:cheer2: :cheer2: :cheer2:

Well...

... just checking in briefly here. We're back! Been back in fact since monday nite but it's been hectic with all manner of little pesky errands that need attention. So my time has been very limited for catching up here. But I have noticed that a half dozen plus pages go up every 12 hours or so - and that's leaving me in a difficult position to catch up!

At any rate - Happy birthday and happy anniversery to everyone we've missed these past 2 weeks or so. And prayers and hopes for all who could have used some in the past 2-3 weeks. I hope things have otherwise been at least managable for everyone lately.

So, our trip was a nice one. Painfully inexpensive for a cruising trip. I took about 1400-1500 pictures ... so my production was pretty low.

I'm sleepy tired - so am turning in now. I'll try to get pictures and links up soon - but I suspect we won't get to it until maybe next monday or tuesday.

Oh well... it IS nice to be home again!

Arrrgh!

Yes, welcome back! If you ever do catch up, you will see that you were missed enough to be mentioned fairly often . . .:lmao: :lmao: :lmao: :lmao:

Mary Ann - I'm glad they found a chemo that is less icky. It sounds like a trip to WDW is also an excellent treatment plan.

Liz - Thanks so much for the pictures. I LOVE the castle!

CaptainTaz! :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:

much more fun than your thesis, right Diane????

My DH and I moved in together about a month after we were engaged. My mother had to write me a long letter telling me she didn't approve. She was fine after the letter...of course I was upset...but SHE was fine:rolleyes:
(Also Catholic;) )

DH & my stuff lived together for about 4 months before we were married. Both our leases were up in June, so we found a place together, but he was deployed all by 2 weeks of our 6 month engagement. And when he was home we "time shared" the apartment since I worked third shift in a hotel.

Even with all that, our families weren't thrilled, but no one was willing to pay for me to live in a hotel for four months.

Hi folks

DS is improving. He's got a killer headache and gets naseous if he moves around too much. The headache is managed by tylenol, so it's not too painful. He just starts getting cranky when its time for a new dose. All his neurological tests are fine though.

They are concerned about the cracked bones causing fluid to leak. Hasn't happened so far, but they are keeping a close eye on him. Also, the fracture is very near his ear and they can see some bruising inside the ear. They are going to test in the next few days to see if he suffered any additional hearing loss. Good thing is we just had a follow up hearing test last week, so they have up to date results to compare too.

He's sleeping most of the time. Eating a little. And walked around his room today. Still another day or 2 in the hospital at least.

Monica - glad to hear Trevoy is doing better.
He'll be back to eating you out of house and home in no time!

We are in a cat 6 and a cat 11, linked ressies with a request to be near each other. The cat 6 is still GTY, but they assigned the cat 11 to a cabin on deck 7. There are no cat 6's on deck 7, so I'm thinking that they won't be too close to each other. We actually switched with a friend who is also linked with us and had a cat 11 on deck 6. So now there's a chance at least that they'll be close together. If not, I apologize in advance to anyone who sees me wandering the halls in my boxers.:scared1:

You need to sign up for the Designated Walker program.

Attention Designated Walkers: bring a towel!

Now that I'm ketchedup...
We had a fun night last night. We went to the Capitals hockey game since the NY Rangers were in town and our favorite player is a Ranger. Scotty Gomez is from Anchorage & when all the other NHL players went to Europe to play for a gabillion dollars during the lockout a few years ago, he went back to Anchorage and played 3rd tier pro hockey for about $400 a week (he's an NHL All Star, not a benchwarmer). We met him at a few assorted events (I even had lunch with his dad once) & he's an all-round good guy. He was playing a few levels down and had more assists than goals that year. He's the sorta guy that you would hope pro athletes are (but they seldom deliver).

Anyway, Rangers have 2 Alaskans on the team, so we made sure we were there for warm ups - in our Alaska Aces gear. The kids made posters & we had an AK flag. Scotty tapped the glass once and nodded once as he skated by us. The kids were SOOO excited!!

Gomez scored the first goal & Dubinsky, the other Alaskan, assisted on the 2nd goal of the night - 3 points for the 49th state!

I'm sure the people around us thought we were nuts. We're Caps fans, so we cheered for the Caps...and two of the Rangers. The Caps won in overtime, so it was an exciting game.

Anyway, DH's final is due today, so he stayed home to work & I got to be cool mom last night.:cool2:

I know, seems like it was just yesterday. Unfortunately, no Carribean Christmas Music for us this year :sad1: :sad1: .

Shoes, did someone say shoes???? Shhhhhhhh :rotfl:

Thanks for thinking of me, guys. Since switching chemo meds last Tuesday I am doing *much* better. The nasuea and headaches that were keeping me on the couch for days at a time are all but gone. There are different side effects with this one but they are much easier to take. I am past the half way point with the chemo :cool1: :cool1:

It was great, Thanks. I am so glad I did not cancel. I got to meet Susan  , and I flew back late Monday where it reached 82 degrees in FL and it was 17 degrees when I landed in Boston!! I want to go back.

I have to share one of the most fun days I have ever had in the Magic Kingdom with MouseFest...
We had a picture savenger hunt - We were Team JellyRolls. An example of some of the pictures with STRANGERS we had to collect......

Do the Dosie-Do with strangers outside Country Bear Jamb
Pretend to be getting ill outside the Teacups
Spell M-I-C-K-E-Y with your bodies

There was a ton of other stuff, but you get the idea. Everything had points assigned. We lost (by more than 100 pts.), but we had sooo much fun!!!!

Mary Ann so glad you are feeling better & that picture scavenger hunt sounds like a blast! :thumbsup2

My DD will be 14 & my DS 11. You won't find too much planning on 5400 page, mostly just a bunch of silliness, but the important info is on the website. Still not too many concrete plans have been made yet, so stay tuned & join in when you can! :goodvibes

For anyone that listens to the DIS Unplugged Podcast, I had my email read in the listener email show this week - I'm really excited about it. I've not listened yet but will be in the next couple of days.

Hey congrats Paula! I'll have to check it out. :surfweb:

Great, my DD will be 19 days shy of her 14th Bday at the beginning of the cruise. Maybe we can get them to know each other before the cruise

My dd is 14 now...(turns 15 in May before the cruise) but i know she'd up to chatting beforehand.

She still sends e-mails back and forth with Caroline's (Pyramid2000) daughter (who turns 14 this coming January i think) from our last cruise.

Tom, I would guess that closer to the time (and hopefully when people have room numbers other than GTY!) we will have a sign up for those wanting to be listed on maps of the ship, as well as a separate sign up for fish extenders (we have a fine drink-oriented committee for that, as you recall). Some (like Andrew UK) are happy to be listed on a map, but don't usually "do" the extenders . . .

Agreed, no problem on room No, Fish extenders I really have never go into this, but it was nice when Julie gave me her one, and some Dissers put things on my door by surprise,

Alot of it is down to traveling such a long way, we have luggage limits and I have to lug it around so I try to stop anything 'extra' I did do a 'secret' exchange in the Med as we were closer, but again due to luggage issues I would gracefully back out of that, for this cruise.

I 2nd that! Glad to hear you had a nice trip.:)

Welcome back, you might want to read some posts last weekend, your absence was noted!

So - since we're beinning to circulate plausible denyability over this TAZ image ... I'll just forestall further action by admitting the TAZ image DOES capture my "character" from a "charming angle". < wink > And so ... everyone is going to MAKE me dig my way BACKWARDS through mountians of fluff and "circumstance" to unroot the original party responsible? Well... what good will it do me if the entity originating the image EDITS that 1st posting? It's just gonna throw HAVOC into my investigation? And of course, my review is going to take a little time here... time I may not have for a few days (or weeks) yet! Arrrgh! This suggests the guilty party may SKATE Scott FREE! Arrrgh! Is there no justice in the world? < steady silent grinnin' > Well... no worries .... I'll eventually uncover to whom I can thank for the charming dental adjustment to my appearance. < LOL > At any rate....

May I offer

Thanks to everyone for your kind welcoming thoughts...

( snif ... snif )

I'm beginning to feel like I'm a first timer posting an initial hello again here....

( snif ... snif .... will someone pass me a tissue to wipe my tears of joy away? )

... OK, enuf of that! I have a birthday cake thing at our daughters' preschool in about 25 minutes so I gotta step out soon - alas, it's been so busy since returning home that I do feel a bit like the image of TAZ below ... sometimes... alas, I'll be "fully" back soon!

That's weird, I saw Crash made a post at 1:12pm, went to read it and it wasn't on the thread, then I went to send a reply and saw Crash's message. Went back to the thread and it wasn't there. Oh well, maybe this post will get lost as well, who knows, let's see what happens................:confused3

OK, now I see Crash's last post and my post made it through cyber space.................:lmao: :lmao: :lmao:

I "cured" a few people of e-mailing me. Whenever I got one of those e-mails, I would go to snopes and cut/paste the whole debunking and a link, begin the reply with "you should really check these with snopes or another site before you send them out" and provide link. Oh, selecting "reply to all" is important too. 2-3 times embarrassed, they no longer e-mail me the junk

Does that include me????

NO.

And please don't give her any ideas. My checking account couldn't handle that. (And for the record, I spent 10 times the amount of money on her present as she spent on mine.)

Porr JR.:sad2: :sad1: :sad2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2:

Something to consider for the website as time goes on, but no one gets included without an OK from them.

Include me. I have a lock on my door!!!:lmao:

I am so glad you are at the half way point!:woohoo: It will go fast now!!!

I heard what a sweetie you are from Susan!!! :cloud9: I can't wait to meet you and give you a big  in person.

Do think he stirs things up so much these things create in his wake?

We can still blame Crash....he is not back yet.:rotfl2: :rotfl2:

Maybe Crash Jr. can do it, Cheryl where are you?

Come on Crashenstein (Cheryl) you have to do this. :cool1:

Sorry I am at work so I can't give you the head shot I saved, but here is the final photo. It should be fairly easy to cut and paste.

:rotfl2: :thumbsup2 :rotfl2:

This is the best I can do because I have no photo shop to play with!!

Monica, Sounds like a huge improvement for Trevoy!!!! My prayers are still with you!!

The logic of little children. My DD told her pre K teacher last year she was an Indian. When the teacher asked us and we said we were not, we asked Rebecca why she said she was an Indian and she said...wait for it... "Well, I am not a Pilgrim."

:rotfl: :rotfl: I love it!!!! Every once in a whil something comes up and we have to remind 16dd *don't forget you and dad are from Mexico* :rotfl: :rotfl:
This trip to Cancun (for 24dd's wedding) was hilarious. The first night there a group of us (around 10 -12 people) are ordering drinks before diner. The waiter is speaking english the entire time until....he goes to take 16d's order! :rotfl2: And he speaks to her in Spanish! :rotfl:
24dd, 16dd and myself went to the salon to have their nails/toenails done and the woman doing 16dd looks confused when 16dd tells her that I am her mom and 24dd is her sister.... She looks at 16dd and says *Oh, you speak Spanish?* It went back and forth with them for a while.
Later we were all cracking up!!! :rotfl2:

We can still blame Crash....he is not back yet.:rotfl2: :rotfl2:

Hmmm....

.... some of these Nutmeg quotations look oddly ... suspicious. Alas, I defer judgement until after I've reviewed some of past couple of thousand postings. Prepare fer a few ground hog appearances in the days to come!

In the mean while I'm keepin' a eye on each of ya... ya hear!?
