Crash , thanks for the pic. We should be able to use it :thumbsup2

Hope you brought some warm clothes.

Did someone say redneck, I mean NASCAR? I'm a fan. I came in 32nd in my pool (out of 36, some skillful picking there......)

Count me in as a redneck too. Don't particpate in pools but I do attend the race at Infineon every year.

I didn't think ANY of my images might be "disturbing"....

< wink >

However, if anyone has paused in bemused reflection over anything I posted - just you remember I can be pretty spontaneous in selecting an image to go with a thought I'd like to support in a posting - and as such I am officially INNOCENT of any disturbing images posted! < steady silent grinnin' >

Seriously, most folks should know I'm a relatively normal - gainfully employed SAHD - I have work from home in the business (small natural adjustments over time) for 20+ year. Only difference is before I had kids I would be on the road roughly half the year and my buedsiness income was significantly higher then. With kids I have given up on a lot of business opportunities and find the rewards of parenting to be priceless.

OK... enuf of all that... I know some of what i ost might be viewed as odd - but remember - I am not trying to make a balanced and well conceived posting - rather I am just speding along and matching up near miss images to the idea I'm trying to illustrate. Sometimes it works - and sometimes it does not - and other times its' probably a little ... disturbing.

Crash, on my 2006 cruise, the funniest guy on our cruise meets thread was so quiet when we met him in person:confused3 Somehow I can't picture you as quiet;) I so love your creativity with the pictures:thumbsup2 Sometimes disturbing=fun:teacher:

They have to redo the tracks. There are some places that have not held up over the years and they've just been patched and repatched, leading to a more shallow track. This causes the boats to get stuck more often. The buzz on the internet is that it is due to Americans being bigger now than they were in the 1960's so the boats are heavier.

Thanks Monica! I figured there was a reasonable explanation, but sometimes those little people freak me out.

I've never been to a race! How sad is that? It's on my list of things to do! :thumbsup2

Welcome to Massachusetts Crash! Sorry you missed the sn*w! It was pretty...especially since it didn't stick around! ;)

Thanks for the "Mass. Welcome" Diane!

I was standing out at Logan tonite waiting for my BIL to pull up and I found myself waxing on the intensity of the cool air - the evening sights, sounds and scents. I've stood on the same spot timeless times while awaiting a pickup from my BIL or his spouse - and I thought maybe I should take a picture to save the moment. I was just at Logan .... nothing more?

So - my BIL has an unsecured wifi and high speed line - no surprise except that it's unsecured and unencrypted. I would have expected it to be secured and if so .... I might have feared the security was complicated to configure - and hence I might not have had ANY steady access to the web.

Aside from that - I must say it's pleasantly warm to be with far flung family again - and celebrating the arrival of a new baby Braedon (misspelled?) to boot! Everyone will eventually meet Braedon and his family as they are reserved for our Cruise in August.

OK... back to catching up now... I'm pretty tired so I may not finish catching up tonight. Only thing is my FIL and MIL are on Hawaiian time - so while it is midnite in Boston now - it's only 9PM for me ... and 6PM for my FIL and MIL! We're all watching a ittle TV now while I post a little here...

I'm fortunate enough to live 45 minutes from the track. And it doesn't hurt that it is right on the border of the wine country. In fact, there's a tasting room about 5 minutes from the track.

What's a typewriter?

You are the funny one tonight!!!:lmao: :lmao: Respect your elders!!!:rotfl2: :rotfl2:

Admitting it is the first step.....:lmao: :lmao: :lmao: :lmao:

(notice I corrected the spelling.....:lmao:)

At least you know the chain of command!!;)

Hmmmmmm....... So which spouse does that make me ???? :confused3

Mark

You tell us!!!!!!  :goodvibes

On our last cruise thread, my wife lurked but never posted. Which got me in a lot of trouble when I made comments about her suitcase full of shoes. She was royally peeved at me until she read the comments from the other ladies and realized they also thought I was an idiot.

You know the old saying.....If the shoe fits .....where it!!!!!

My son is an EAGLE!!!!!!!
Tonight was DS#1 Eagle Board of Review.. and as of tonight

He is an EAGLE!!!!!!

I am so proud of him, he has worked so hard and accomplished so much...

Thanks.. we are very excited here... now to plan the eagle ceremony... :)
it is a shame that he can't go on the TOAL.. pirate:

Congratulations to you and your son on this incredible achievement.

Eagle Courts of Honor are the best ceremonies. We had six in our Troop last year with another three we hope this year. Hopefully my son will get moving and dedicate himself to becoming Eagle.

Tragicly...

... my spouse chuckles to no end that a Californian like me would pack so little for Boston in Winter. I DID not intend on going out much with 3 kids in an unfamiliar town. But I think I barely have enuf to get by. On the other hand my spouse - who grew up in outside of Pittsburg in a ONE SIGNAL LITE town ... (where my dear MIL once told a farmer her daughters' boyfriend was a "city slicker" within earshot of me).... well .... my spouse packed winter hats with fluffy ear flaps for the kids, winter gloves, plus all kinds of appropriate cold weather gear. Me... I packed shorts and hawaiian shirts - and a few socks and underwear. Ok... NOT! But I did under pack - and probably fall short of having enuf to layer up with if we should spend any length of time outside at other then high noon!

At least - from the first Secret Mickey package we received - there was this BEAUTIFUL hand crocheted scarf enclosed - which my older daughter has lovingly confiscated for her exclusive use! So at least one person in our party is sure to have a warm neck line .... so cheerful thanks to Alicias' Secret Mickey (or Minnie) for the wonderful personal gifts! Alicia was explaining to me how nice the scarf was... in addition to the other wonderful things enclosed.

Happy Belated Birthday Katrina!!!!!!!

Crash, I didn't know your DW was a fellow hick from the 'Burgh. I think our town had a stop light. Of course, now it has a highway running right through it right behind my old childhood home.

Do you mind me asking where she is from -- I might know the place. I am from Charleroi, which is 45 miles south of Pgh along the Mon River.

Howdy!
Okay, what am I missing? Are we starting the secret minnie/mickey thing already or what?
(nevermind. I did a quick check on the website and see I missed out on the pre-cruise exchange. I've been reading the emails sent out and have been to the website a few times- I just didn't happen to check THAT page to notice the exchange!)

Happy birthday to everyone I missed.
And annivesary.
And anything else congrats are in order.

Sorry I haven't been around much. Just been really really super mega busy with all the kids stuff, family stuff, etc.
I'll try to hang around more often- or atleast not stay away so long next time.

Fill me in on anything I simply MUST know... that I missed in the past few weeks?
