When you get to the one by me saying only 300+ posts till pirate: you should skip to post 80,025 (although there is some mighty entertainin reading, not much substance in that stretch).

I OBJECT Counsel!!! ... I posted at least 2-6 decent substantive postings. That lends significance to a several otherpostings made in RESPONSE to my substantive postings. Thus - we had many many legitimate "fluff-less" postings.

Then again... on the other hand ... I imaginesome folks consider EVERY one of MY postings to be suspect as thinly vieled fluff!

Just popping in to say "hello" and to thank Tom for our latest installment of the newsletter. I am one of those people who simply can't keep up with the thread. I have been with it from the very beginning (even before the whole day 1 fiasco) but have a full-time job and am training for my first marathon and just don't have the time to read everything. I am so thankful for the newsletter because it gives a nice recap and lets me know if there is something I need to go back and check. Essentially, when I get one of those email notifications that there are new responses (maybe a dozen or so a day), I read the content of the email. If it's something interesting, I open the link and read the surrounding discussion. I know it's hit or miss, but right now, it works for me. I keep hoping that once we get closer to sail date, i will be able to devote more time to posting. I still would like to feel like I am a pirate!

One word of advice to all the mateys who have already purchased their airflights. Don't rely on the carriers to inform you of a change. I just found out (quite by accident) that my connecting flight was cancelled and I was put on another one with a 6-hour layover. When I asked Delta, why they didn't notify me, their response was that it was so early it would probably change several more times, but not to worry, they would definitely notify me at least a week before! (how's that for making your blood boil?) I was able to switch flights at no additional charge , but now have 3 legs instead of 2....grrrrr! So it might be a good idea to periodically check your flights and see if everything is OK.

Anymore people getting cabin assignments? I am still a Cat 7 QTY.

Delta changed my Orlando to Louisville flight also. They cancelled my nonstop 1:15pm and moved me to 10:30am (no way I want to even try that one:scared1: ). I am leaving it for now hoping they bring back my nonstop flight, if I changed now and they added my flight back they told me I would have to pay a change fee later. So I am going to wait until it gets closer. At least my fare is safe.:)

Liz, is it really Monday already, yuck.................:lmao:

Oh well, it's a short 3 day work week for me, so that's good!!! :thumbsup2

I always end my workweek on Wednesday :thumbsup2 This week is especially broken up for me. The only appointment we could get for DHs (late) eye exam is tomorrow at 1 so I have to dash out of work , take him and drive his dilated eyes home and go back to work for our Thanksgiving feast. Then Wednesday we have his other Dr at 2:30. So I will be eating on the run. What a pain. I usually get the day before off but not this year.So it will be an interesting week :lmao:

That is the reason we went with nonstop. Even tho it cost us more, it is peace of mind knowing we don't have to scramble for a connection.

As for the fluffy run for the pirate, I kind of enjoyed it. Reminded me of the earlier days on this thread. Just sorry my DGD kept me distracted that night.Would have loved to help the wenches.

Good Morning All

Very cold here today, but then I heard it is supposed to be 60 by Thanksgiving - I bet that will make the Black Friday shoppers happy. Does anyone do the Black Friday thing around here? I usually do, but not this year. I think that there are going to be some killer sales the closer we get to Christmas this year. I don't know about other parts of the country, but around here the economy is really choking. I know several people that have taken their house off the market since summer because they just can't afford to move if their house sells at waht the market will allow. What a difference a year makes.

See we had a pirate run this weekend - Congrats Mike.

Thanks for the festive smilies Tom, Diane, Cheryl & Chrissie. I love them!!!!

Tom, thanks for the newsletter. I appreciate the hard work that must go into putting it together each month :)

Diane - you said it perfectly  . This has turned out to be a great group of people and even if you can't post much, jump on in when you can. On my last cruise, some of the nicest people I met hadn't posted much on our thread at all, but once we were on the cruise I got to know them better than some of the regular posters. Sometimes it just works out that way.

I got my cabin assignment a few months ago Cat 4. Not real pleased with it (mid-ship under the Dumbotron), but oh well.

We flew Delta a few years ago at Easter. They drove me nuts!!! We were non-stop, but they changed the flight by 5 hours, and then by 1,2 and 5 minutes at least 10 times. It got to the point where I had to check my flight each morning. Each time I would lose my seat assignment and have to call (can't be done on-line) and have my seats re-assigned. The last change I was told, "sorry, no seats left". I was basically put on standby for a flight that I had booked over 6 months in advance. It all worked out in the end, but I have never had so many problems with a flight to Florida. They have better prices to MCO out of Boston than JetBlue, but IMO it is just not worth it.

Mary Ann, I have NO PLANS to hit the stores on black friday. It has probably been at least 5 years or longer since I've gone out. Too many rude people. How have you been feeling?:)

Bad News: It's Monday

Good News: It's a short week.

Thanks to everyone for the holiday smilies. I just simply do not have any more room in my signature. When I had the Halloween Mickey last month, I was getting cut off at the bottom so I already know nothing else will fit. Maybe someday I'll be willing to get rid of Captain Jack but I doubt it.

Spent the weekend in Palm Desert at the DILs. Weather was great upper 80's. Went biking, fishing and swimming. Pictures from my new camera

WOW, now I don't feel so bad.............:rotfl:

Getting near time for me to head back out the door and get some more meters read, see y'all later...........

:rotfl2: Be careful what you teach them - the creative ones will find 5 more interesting things to do with the trick. :rotfl2:

The odd thing is - we have a basket of shoes by the door. Does he ever teke them from there? Nope. Guess it'd be too easy.

You did a better job capturing my feelings than I did. I deleted my response after working on it for 20 minutes 'cause I couldn't make it right. Thanks! :thumbsup2

Nah... A well fetched slipper. :rotfl2:

Thank you! :)

Yes I thought I was being so clever teaching her that trick. The really sad thing is, she fetches the slippers & shoes, but she thinks it's a game & expects you to chase her down to get them. That's why we find them all over the place! Kind of defeats the purpose! :sad2:

Diane, I totally agree:goodvibes
:goodvibes

Do you remember when Oprah took her entire audience to WDW?.
Well my Manager at the time took her young son at the same time. When The whole parade of Oprahites took to the streets, they had security guards who pushed everyone away from the group. Well her son was pushed so hard he was tossed to the ground. Noone in the group stopped to help. She was not one to be reckoned with and stomped over to Guest Relations and complained. Sad to say they took down her report, gave her a bandaid for the kid and didn't offer anything else for her troubles. Apparently the security goons as she called them were causing all sorts of havoc that day and they were beseiged with complaints.Sorry you had a bad experience with a rude and mannerless idiot as well. Glad the injury wasn't severe.

ooooh that makes me so mad! I hate when people think they are above other people simply because of their fame or money. And to knock that poor kid to the ground without even an apology?

Tom... when the time grows closer to our cruise, everyone will step up to help.:goodvibes I think the site is the most informative I have seen compared to my previous cruises.:thumbsup2 :thumbsup2 We all apreciate the great job you do on the newsletter and the web site is just full of informationsite.:grouphug: :grouphug:

Diane..since I was one of the guilty people creating a lot of fluff, I did not know how to express my feelings.:confused3 You just said it all for me. Without chatting, how can we get to know each other??? I am looking to meet people who will enhance my whole experience of my cruise. I might even be lucky enough to call some of the people real friends after the cruise.:cloud9: The information we all need for the cruise is everywhere on the internet. The people who will make my cruise more enjoyable are found on this thread.

I don't know Cheryl. I heard you were innocent! ;) Thank you!

I completely agree that there are many people here I would be proud to call friend, you included of course! :flower3:

Great pictures, Roger. Love the wedding pics. My husband did the opposite...had the beard and has since lost it.

I am enjoying everyone's pictures!!

This is our first wedding, in judge's chambers...kind of Western-style and we had our weekend-long reception at an 1880's stage stop in Prescott, AZ

I can't remember the last time my waist was that small, or I wore heels that high!

And our second wedding...the vow renewal in Key West...I'd missed doing the whole white dress thing, so we did it over again. Silly husband....crazy enough to marry me twice! LOL

On the 09 Thread, very interesting ties up with other information thought I would share if you haven't seen this.

Just thought I would let you know that my TA said in a few weeks her District Manager is cruising with the DCL president and expects there will be an announcement while on the ship. They were told something "Big" while they were cruising. I am emailing her back to see if I can find out the date she is cruising. Just thought I would share an FYI!!!!!!!

Andrew I don't think you're thinking anything we haven't all thought about. I personally feel sad that some people don't join us & may be intimidated by the length of this thread. I know some people even bad mouth us. :guilty: Oh well, I feel sorry for them, because this is truly a great bunch of people & all anyone has to do is jump in & say hi! I personally don't care what group they do or don't belong to as long as they really want to be friendly. You don't even have to be going on this cruise to join in. Just ask some of our regulars that we wouldn't want to ever do without!

It is not important to read back, but join in & read when you can. Like you said, thanks to Tom, the important info is on the website. Look at Liz....she gives us the morning hello & forcast & I think we all appreciate it. Does she join in non-stop? Nope, but who doesn't love Liz's dailies? Not that anyone has to provide daily info, but a quick hello every now & then & maybe a little update on how things are going allows us to get to each other. This thread certainly doesn't need any fluff, since it's darn fluffy enough, but I gotta say I also agree with Chrissie....some of that banter really cracks me up & I'd be sad to see it go completely. :sad1: Sorry I must be in a soap box kind of mood tonight! ;)

I have had PM's sent to me saying intimidating, but not 'bad mouth' we just all talk to much!!!:rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2:
