First Welcome to our merry band of Pirates!
Second, aren't the words "lawyer" & "pirate" synonimus? (sp?)

Hey! Easy on the lawyers.....

Doesn't someone's spouse walk by and mutter "crack" whenever that person is in chat?:confused3 :lmao:

Hi everyone ..Thanks for your wishes! Hope to do well for all my cake lovin' pirates! I thought you all would get a kick out of it!

Brendan is threatening to video! I am trying to talk him down to digital pics!

Seriously cake and jewelry...what is better? (ok if rum was added too..I know I know!)

Stace sounds like you are getting better ...that's great!

And the vision of puppy in ol'lady panties is a riot!

My cat had the "collar" before and it amplified his purrsss....It was funny!

Have a great day all!!!!

Oh by the way.....

GO SOX!!!!

Good morning all. TGIF! And payday too!

Mine too! :thumbsup2

Hope things become un-strange for you!

Thanks. Too much drama sometimes. Lest we have weekends!

1) Admit that you are powerless over Mickey Mouse
2) Believe that a power greater than you (Mickey Mouse and Disney parks/cruise line) can restore you to sanity
3) Make a decision to turn your will and your life and your bank account over to the care of Mickey Mouse
4) Make a searching and fearless inventory of all your Disney collectibles
5) Admit that you are always planning a Disney vacation
6) Be ready to have Mickey remove you of all remaining funds in your bank account
7) Humbly ask Mickey for an upgraded room
8) Make a list of all the attractions you must see and all the dinner reservations you must make
9) Make those reservations right at 7AM, 120 days prior to your trip
10) Continue to take personal inventory of your Disney collectibles and admit you need more, much more
11) Seek through the DIS ways to improve your contact with Mickey Mouse, praying for knowledge of how to find that secret porthole room and the power to get out of GTY status
12) Having had a spiritual awakening as the result of these steps, send this message to all of your friends who are not yet Disney addicts

Of course, my 12-step program involves the 12 steps from the bus stop to the turnstiles at WDW...

Cute. I guess I'm not that far gone. #3 & #6 I'd have to think on. Wow! 12 steps from the bus stop to the turnstiles? So your what? 20 feet tall!

And wanted to share some news!

I won a chance to do a "cake dive"! Me and 4 other brides to be jump in a HUGE cake and look for a set of wedding bands....you find them you WIN them!!! It is on Sunday and I am soooo excited!!!!-Wish me luck!

Chrissie

I had to re-read this! I guess it's better than jumping out of a cake. :lmao: Good luck!:cake:

Quick drive by to say DS will be coming home Friday :cool1:

Thanks for all the prayers and well wishes. I'm sure they helped. We've seen a lot of improvement but still have a long road ahead of us.

Glad things are improving for you. Hang in there.

You've got that right Liz!!! :thumbsup2 :thumbsup2 :thumbsup2

Woke up this morning and the temp is about 30* colder than it was on Monday, plus it's raining making for one miserable start to the day, but at least it is FRIDAY!!! :thumbsup2 :thumbsup2 :thumbsup2

Sorry Andy, looks like our crummy Thursday morning has reached you. It cleared up in the afternoon.

I finally, FINALLY get to start physical therapy and take baby steps. Won't be long and I'll be walking upright again! :cool1:

That's great news Stace! Remember - put one foot in front of the other, and soon you'll be walking 'cross the floor! (okay I admit it - I'm already thinking of Christmas).

Love the homecoming theme too!

Rain ended early this morning, now bright, sunny and very windy. I had to chase my baseball cap several times this morning...........

We are getting better weather- finally- here as well.
We had the 90's a few days ago but this is Texas and Chicago!;)
Lovely weekend coming with lowes in the 60's and high's in low 80's. We are going to DD's soccer game and then to the State Fair of Texas!!! Here we come Fletcher's corny dogs!
Happy Friday everyone!

Hurray! Just remember not to push too hard. You'll be walking great in March for the DL meet.

Yay! I'm so glad he's doing better. I hope you're holding up too. Remember that we're all here for you if you need anything. And that Mike and I are relatively local if you need anything more concrete than emotional support.

Hey! Easy on the lawyers.....

Was there something wrong with being a pirate in this group?

Your witness councellor...

YoHo Pirates! I've been MIA for a while due to life interfering with my web time - my assistant quit on me (with less than 2 weeks notice!) and am in the process of doing a major remodel to our living room (picture old nasty 70's paneling being replaced with lovely two tone walls and chair rail, new floor, fireplace, etc and you get the picture!).

Welcome to all the newbies - you've really stumbled across a great bunch of pirates IMHO!

We still haven't booked return air but I'm waiting for SW to open up their rates in the spring - they have the only non-stop from MCO to Albany and even though it leaves a couple of hours arfter the earlier 1 stop flights it arrives over an hour earlier, so I think that the choice is pretty much made.

While out shopping for new furniture I did stumble across a couple of dresses that are just perfect for the semi-formal nights. Just need to get the dresses for formal and princess night now and I'll be all set (of course that presumes that I'll be hitting the gym big time between now and next August and losing all the weight that I've managed to put back on over the last several months!).
Sending prayers and pixie dust to all that need it! Good luck this weekend at the bride dive Chrissie!

See the bold? That's me too! I keep trying weight watchers, but I can't stick with it! The weekend comes & I'm eating out or visiting friends. How can I turn down a margarita or two along with chips & salsa & whatever else is placed in front of my face? I need to lock myself away somewhere for months!!!

I finally, FINALLY get to start physical therapy and take baby steps. Won't be long and I'll be walking upright again! :cool1:

Bring it on!!! :cheer2: :cheer2: :cheer2:

Good morning everyone and HAPPY FRIDAY! I am home from school today and was home yesterday too. DD9 has the chicken pox  She had the vaccination so its mild. Basically she is still Ashton with pox all over her  , she is not sick at all nor is she running a fever. Her and I are gonna have some fun in the kitchen today making some cookies. I am in the mood to do some cooking, we have finally gotten rid of our heat wave - it was only 70 here yesterday - big change from 95 the other day. Whenever it gets cool outside I am ready for some comfort cooking!

I did manage to call DCL yesterday and cancel our air portion of our cruise ressie. Our air add on was $2100 so that saved us a bit of change. We did buy our airline tickets already and for both flights for all four of us we spent $1300 so all in all we saved $800 by booking our own air. Enough to pay for Hojos and some of our DL tickets  Still need to book transportation to HoJos on Aug 13 & transportation to the port on the 17th but I think we are in good shape!

Hope all has a great day today! Special hugs to anyone who needs it:goodvibes Sue

Wow that was a big savings! :cool1:

Well, everyone says to just jump in so I will. I am pretty sure we will stay at any DL resort that we can scrap up. I don't want to stay in the tall one - I lived in LA for 30 years and got hit really hard in the Sylmar & Northridge quakes. Actually lost our home in the NR quake - as did mils and sils. I am afraid of those darn things!!!

Anyway my dear son is sitting next to me suffering from some strange diseases called something adenitis - the lymph glands in his abdomen swell up and cause lots of pain. Spent all day Wed at the hospital thinking it was appendicits. This is a new one on us!! We are the unlucky med family!!

Tournament weekend for both little ones. My daughter has a soccer tournament and my son has football playoffs starting. Its getting nippy here too. And my bil is a navy pilot who is flying his own plane here this weekend for some reason - that will be fun for my son to see...My mother is supposed to be flying in today from a long trip to Europe - but she never tells me time, etc. I guess she expects me to just circle the airport all day!!

I can't wait to see DL again. That's where it all started for me as a kid growing up in LA. We are purposefully not getting a car so if any relatives want to see us, they ahve to drive to DL. That shd cut down on their visits!!!! They are all far flung and don't understand what a pain it is to drive to Poway, then to Valencia, then back to San Diego...all in one day!!!!

Welcome! ITA with the part about the relatives visiting. We have family & friends out there & I already told my brother & his wife that they have to come to DL & meet us for dinner because we will not have a car. I told DH he better call his childhood friend & family that they need to do the same! Neither one of us do well driving in strange places & especially when I hear the horror stories of LA traffic! :scared:

Great News.. PT is hard but I know you'll do just fine..

Glad he is coming home.. and it doing better..

Cold in Chicago today.. but it should get warmer ( 60s) for the weekend. Varsity has an away game tonight.. I may not go.. I am a fair weather football fam and tomorrow Eric's freshman team plays so I'll get a chance to freeze then.. plusafter or during the football game the Xcountry team has conference meet in another town and I get to see Geoff run.

DH is still researching the airfare deals. He said if we leave Sunday am that it is cheaper then Saturday.. but I can't handle the stress and anixiety if the flight gets canceled or is late or ???? His planning horizon is very short (like Lunch) unlike mine so he is really only looking to make me happy.. and I'll be happy when he gets this airfare booked.. But I really think that he is not moving quickly 'cause we don't have a firm committment from his aunt to watch the kids while we cruise..

Definitely push for a Saturday flight! I agree you will be much more relaxed if you get there the day before. Even if we weren't visiting DL, I would try to get there a day early & just stay near the port.

Hi everyone ..Thanks for your wishes! Hope to do well for all my cake lovin' pirates! I thought you all would get a kick out of it!

Brendan is threatening to video! I am trying to talk him down to digital pics!

GO SOX!!!!

I'll second that!!!! Go Sox!!!

That's great news Stace! Remember - put one foot in front of the other, and soon you'll be walking 'cross the floor! (okay I admit it - I'm already thinking of Christmas).

Love the homecoming theme too!

OMG my DD was singing Christmas songs in the shower the other day. I opened the door and yelled "Stop that!!!" I'm not ready for that yet. I'd like to at least get through Halloween first! ;)

Speaking of the weather....we've had thunderstorms all night & into today. Later this afternoon (I think it should be thesafternoon ;) ) the temp is suppose to steadily drop from the mid 60s to the low 40s over night but clear up along with brisk winds. It's going to be a blustery one at the Sox vs Indians game tonight! :cold:

Hope you all have a great day! DH is working late tonight so I might actually make chat for the first time in weeks! :cool1:

Sue, hope your DD gets oover the Chicken pox quickly. But enjoy your time at home with her. Sick days are so much better when they really don't feel awful. Great news about your savings!

Debi...How long did Harley have to wear the Elizabethean Collar after his surgery?
The Vet said yesterday that Bo (poor fella!) should wear it for 2 weeks! That seems awfully long to me.....:confused3

I only kept it on him till the stitches came out, about a week. Give Bo a Smoochie from me and Harley!

Don't laugh at this, but they did say that if we were watching him, he could wear "granny panties" with a special hole cut in them for his wee-wee......I know he'd be humilitated, but it sure seems a lot less cruel than watching him bumping into everything.

And thanks!

 Would definately need a visual!
