Hey everyone...

Need good thoughts and prayers....

I got a call from my mom today that my uncle/godfather has died.....

Don't know what else to say.....

Chrissie

So sorry to hear about your loss. Your family is in our prayers.

I'm wondering ... are there any other grown-up princesses out there who would love to play dress up. I'm thinking of being a "princess" one of the formal nights and wearing a tiara and maybe even gloves (like Cinderella!) with my formal dress. How crazy am I? Can a 42 (by then 43) year old be a princess or will everyone be snickering behind my back? Anyone else have a secret wish they could dress up like the little girls do?

Pamela

I think they had a Princess themed night on the last PC crossing. AT least I remember seeing a menu like that. If they do it again, I think that would be the perfect night for all of you princesses out there.

I think I'm finally back among the living. The surgery went well, so I'm told....all wrapped in big huge bandages for now. Will get a cast put on on Monday...still non weight-bearing...and then 2-3 weeks after that, I'll get a walking cast/boot.
The pain isn't too bad, more uncomfortable than anything. The worst thing is that I've been terribly nauseus. Not the best way to lose weight.

Glad to see you feeling well enough to post Stace. Continued best wishes for a quick recovery.

Mike are you thinking about this one? Be careful Mike, they will want us swabbies to dress-up like prince charming.

Sorry for the multi post but trying to catch up.

Two days in the hospital, pins and wires thru 3 separate bones, and one huge cast. Surgery went very well. All bones are now properly aligned. Next evaluation on Monday. Thanks for asking. Jack
Glad to hear that everything went well with the surgery. We can totally relate to this as DD just got off her crutches after 2 months. Big hugs to your daughter for easy and comfortable recovery.

Stace, I hope you are comfortably recouperating. pixiedust: and good wishes for you:hug:
Same from me. Stace, glad to hear your surgery went well. Speedy recovery to you too.

Before I play ketchup(about a thousand posts)I wanted to state the people I met at the mini meet were great!!!!!!:woohoo: I think we are all going to enhance the cruise by getting to know as many people before the cruise. :goodvibes We all talked as if we knew each other for years.:rotfl2:

I wished it would not rain on me while I was at the parks. I got my wish!!!! The first day I was at Epcot from 8:00 am til 8:00 pm. and covered the entire park.:yay: I had a pedometer and I logged in a little over 13 Miles. When we went to our car, the car was wet so it just rained in the parking lot. The park was so empty that people were not within 200 feet of me. It was like another dream.

The second day we were at Animal Kingdom and made a fast pace to Expedition Everest. We actually made the second ride of the morning. My practice at speed walking paid off!!:rolleyes1 I had to try the ride at least once before getting really old. :rotfl: It was a hair raising experience.:scared1: I will have to post the picture of sheer terror on my face. We then continued to Disney Studios for the rest of the day. We logged on another 9 miles for the two parks. We were gone from 8:00 am to 9:00 pm.

The third day we arrived at the Magic Kingdom for early morning hours again. We speed walked to Fantasy Land first. We were finished with the entire area by 9:00 am. We stayed in the park from 8:00 am to 11:00 pm. to watch the fire works and shop. This day was only 9 miles as I did no back tracking and just went on everything. We did not use one fast pass the entire trip. I was given one from a CM to go on Big Thunder Mountain to go again but once was enough.

Dear John surprised me and took me into the jewelry store on Main Street. :cloud9: He bought me a beautiful 14 kt gold mickey ring to add to my collection. :dance3: This makes number 4 now!!!:cheer2:
Wow Cheryl, sounds like a great trip. I always think about bringing my pedometer AFTER we get there. I really want to see how far we walk. I usually drag Mark around the Boardwalk a few hundred times too.

So sorry for your loss Chrissie. God Bless

I'm planning on wearing my Naked Rugby Uniform for several events.:lmao:
:rolleyes1 What can I say....:rolleyes1
and a shot of scotch.

Ginger ale and ginger snaps....nope..right back up. My ex son in law is a Sr Pharmacy Tech....going to school to be one of the "big guys"....anyway, he brought me some anti-nausea meds...that came right back up. I think it must have been the anesthesia and it just really needed to get out of my system. I managed a couple of soda crackers yesterday and a couple of ginger snaps....and then finally some dry toast and a scrambled egg last night.
Need to get my strength back in order to drag myself around one one leg. Now if I only had a peg, a patch and a parrot!!pirate:
Stacey, I have a parrot you can borrow. He doesn't scream or anything.:rotfl2:
It has been a tough day at work--one of our customers was crossing the street in front of our store and was struck and killed. :sad1:
So sorry to hear about this Paula. What a horrible day.

Paula, how very upsetting!!! We all forget how life can be taken away instantly.:sad2:

All the swabbies should be a Prince Charming!!!:rolleyes1

I am glad DD is off crutches.:woohoo: How is she doing now??:confused3

Hate to post a groundhog but just though you might be interested. We applied for the kids passports on August 31st. Got them today. So less than 2 weeks turn around. Pretty cool. They told us 6 months.

Thanks Cheryl. She is doing okay. Got the okay to start driving. She also got the news that her sports career is pretty much over. She has always been on the schools basketball and track teams but the doctor told her no more sports that involve running. EVER! So she is bummed to say the least. We have tried to convince her to take up golf. Even swimming is out they say.

Oh that is aweful! I am at a loss of what to say...sending a hug your way....

Chrissie

Thank you everyone for sharing their memories of 9/11. I was in the kid school at a PTO meeting. They had a TV on in the teachers lounge and we all just sat and watched. We cried and shook our heads over the tragedy. They did not send kids home that day but I know many parents picked up their children to be able to tell them and to hug them.
Mark's parents were in Disney World. They were told they had to leave the parks but they were not given any information as to why. They did not hear what had happened until they returned to the hotel and turned on the news. Disney closed all the parks but the restaurants were open. They said it was very strange to be there.

I want to thank everyone for your thoughts, wishes and prayers.
Life is a strange thing..one minute a family is happy....next sadness...

I look at my nana (my uncle's mom). Nana is in her 90's (she won't tell us her age-she says she 29!) and wonder how she could have the strength to get through so much in her life. Watched her husband go into WW2 and he spent nuch time in the service..she began raising her 11 (yes 11 includes 1 set of triplets!) for a good portion on her own. Buries her husban in the 70's and loses a son in the early 80's. She has been relatively healthy except for a stoke that lead to loss of sight in one eye about 2 years ago. Now she buries in one year a beloved daughter in law and now her first born son. That is what I call strength.

I don't know why I am telling this to all of you. (Maybe to-without embarrassing her-give an amazing woman credit) But you are all such wonderful people. You all give such wonderful support for both the good and the bad. I send you all the wish of good karma..you all deserve it.

Thank you for letting me say what I felt like I needed to say....

Hey Laura, love the new pic.

Glad DD is doing better, but bummer about the sports. Hopefully she'll find something else to put her energies into.

Captain's dining here, so you wouldn't be alone. I agree, make it the 2nd formal night. And yes, definitely needs to be on the website.

PM or e-mail a quick few sentences about it and it will be on the website.

Good luck with that!! My DD is a HUGE Hannah Montana fan...we tried to get tickets for her concert here, then minute they went on sale and they sold out the entire arena in 4 minutes! Never even got thru ticketmaster.
Who knew??

I bought tickets yesterday morning -- it took me 2 min and I had to take upper level!! How is that possible??? And it was the first 2 minutes of Presale! :confused3 :confused3
The kids don't know. They would only allow me to buy 4 during presale so, dh is just very disappointed that he won't be able to go....:rotfl: :rotfl:

It's going to be a surprise for the kids (16dd, 9ds & 6dd). Dh said he'ld get us a limo so, that I don't have to drive at night. :goodvibes

Quick question... Do any of you use a Palm organizer like the Z22 or Tungsten E2? I'm thinking that I have barely managed to keep track of what we are doing when as things curently are and this new PTO responsibility is going to involve a lot more organization. I did some quick searches on the net today and I sort of narrowed it down to these two, but I would love to hear a first hand opinion.

Pamela (pdarrah)

I've used some type of Palm for the last 7yrs or so.... Right now I use a Life Drive. I would be lost without it!!! I carry it in my purse and put appointments in it while I'm making the appointment! LOL! There are several days of the week that i have a very tight schedule!

I hope that none of our Texas cruise mates are being adversely affected by Hurricane Humberto....

I forgot to say that I had a Tungsten before the Life Drive and I bought 24dd the Z22 (that's the one she asked for). I was perfectly happy with the Tungsten but, dh thought I needed the Life Drive.....

Sorry Sil--Adam would kill me. But I am sure there would be some interest with the ones that have girls. Sounds fun:goodvibes

We dont have to meet at the concert... We meet somewhere else (like at a hotels pool...

Those who want to do the concert do so.. And those without the DDs can gamble away!
