I hope that none of our Texas cruise mates are being adversely affected by Hurricane Humberto....

I don't think any of us are in the Galvaston area.....

If they are in the area I hope they are ok -- last night on the news the flooding was horrible!

Hey Laura, love the new pic.

Glad DD is doing better, but bummer about the sports. Hopefully she'll find something else to put her energies into.

Thanks, I am sure she will come up with something. I just hope it isn't marathon shopping. :lmao:

Thanks Cheryl. She is doing okay. Got the okay to start driving. She also got the news that her sports career is pretty much over. She has always been on the schools basketball and track teams but the doctor told her no more sports that involve running. EVER! So she is bummed to say the least. We have tried to convince her to take up golf. Even swimming is out they say.

Wow that is a real bummer for her.:sad2: Does she have other hobbies??? Shopping :cheer2: debate team:eek:

We all are Prince Charming everyday!
:lmao: :lmao: :lmao:

I will have to confirm with wife on cruise:lmao: .:lmao: :lmao:

Laura...your new picture is adorable! I LOVE your "do".

This is for you Stace to give you a laugh and maybe a few others.:thumbsup2

DEAR DIARY: ..DAY ONE
All packed for the cruise ship - all my sexiest dresses and
make-up.
Really excited.

DEAR DIARY ... DAY TWO
Entire day at sea, beautiful and saw whales and dolphins. Met the
Captain today - seems a very nice man.

DEAR DIARY .. DAY THREE
At the pool today. Also some shuffle boarding and hit golf balls
off the
deck. Captain invited me to join him at his table for dinner. Felt
honored
and had a wonderful time. He is very attractive and attentive.

DEAR DIARY . DAY FOUR
Won $800.00 in the ship's casino. Captain asked me to have dinner
with him in his own cabin. Had a luxurious meal complete with
caviar and
champagne. He asked me to stay the night but I declined. Told him
I could
not be unfaithful to my husband.

DEAR DIARY .. DAY FIVE
Pool again today, got sun burnt, went inside to drink at piano bar
for
rest of day. Captain saw me, bought me several large drinks. Really
is
charming. Again asked me to visit his cabin for the night.Again I
declined. He told me if I didn't let him have his way with me he
would
sink the ship.

I was shocked.

DEAR DIARY ... DAY SIX
Today I saved 1600 lives. Twice.

:lmao: :lmao: :lmao: :lmao: That is just too funny!:lmao: :lmao: :lmao: :lmao:

Mike are you thinking about this one? Be careful Mike, they will want us swabbies to dress-up like prince charming.

Hmmmm....that pic just might make for a new tattoo....

Hate to post a groundhog but just though you might be interested. We applied for the kids passports on August 31st. Got them today. So less than 2 weeks turn around. Pretty cool. They told us 6 months.

That is great Laura!!! One less thing to have to worry about:cool1:

Your new siggie pictures are A.W.E.some:goodvibes

I want to thank everyone for your thoughts, wishes and prayers.
Life is a strange thing..one minute a family is happy....next sadness...

I look at my nana (my uncle's mom). Nana is in her 90's (she won't tell us her age-she says she 29!) and wonder how she could have the strength to get through so much in her life. Watched her husband go into WW2 and he spent nuch time in the service..she began raising her 11 (yes 11 includes 1 set of triplets!) for a good portion on her own. Buries her husban in the 70's and loses a son in the early 80's. She has been relatively healthy except for a stoke that lead to loss of sight in one eye about 2 years ago. Now she buries in one year a beloved daughter in law and now her first born son. That is what I call strength.

I don't know why I am telling this to all of you. (Maybe to-without embarrassing her-give an amazing woman credit) But you are all such wonderful people. You all give such wonderful support for both the good and the bad. I send you all the wish of good karma..you all deserve it.

Thank you for letting me say what I felt like I needed to say....

Chrissie

Chrissie, your Nana sounds like a remarkable woman.

Hey all! Hope everyone is doing well. It's been a couple of trying weeks here. Between dd's school starting and some latchkey issues and stuff happening at work it's been a trip.

On a bright note, dd got a copy of the comedy short that she was an extra in. It's called, "The Planning Lady." It was filmed at her school. It is showing at various film festivals around the country and won an award at a film festival at Michigan State Univerisity. She is one of the children in the hallway dressed as a sailor. She is in profile and in a dark corner! We paused it and I could see her. I asked her why she didn't face forward and she said the director said not to look at the camera! All the kids got a credit. So if anyone goes to film festivals, keep an eye out. Of course you know there is no living with Kaitlin the "Star" now!:rotfl2:

It has been a tough day at work--one of our customers was crossing the street in front of our store and was struck and killed. :sad1:

That must have been awful :grouphug:

Love the picture. We were thinking about other sports than Soccer for DGS also as he has been having trouble with his feet. As long as they allow him to continue to be the Goalie he is ok. The running on the field is the problem. He has damaged the growth plates in his feet so he had bad heel pain when it flairs up.Swimming was one of the sports he enjoys but I guess as it involves the hips it is not favorable for your DD.That's a hard one to figure out as most sports do involve leg strength. Oh I think I thought of one. Crewing. The kids at HS have a team and were just doing a fundraiser.

I want to thank everyone for your thoughts, wishes and prayers.

Wow, 11 children. Shows her fortitude and strength.

Tina, what a neat memory Kaitlin will have:goodvibes

I bought tickets yesterday morning -- it took me 2 min and I had to take upper level!! How is that possible??? And it was the first 2 minutes of Presale! :confused3 :confused3
The kids don't know. They would only allow me to buy 4 during presale so, dh is just very disappointed that he won't be able to go....:rotfl: :rotfl:

It's going to be a surprise for the kids (16dd, 9ds & 6dd). Dh said he'ld get us a limo so, that I don't have to drive at night. :goodvibes

thats a nice husband

Did I forget to mention I had my 15 minutes of fame???:rotfl: I am still not sure why but I volunteered for the Indian Jones Show and was picked.:woohoo: It was a full house and something made me stand up.:confused3 Poor DH didn't even know as I was heading down towards the stage. He took mostly videos but maybe you can still tell it is me. He is still in shock as this is really not me.:rolleyes1 I just thought why not. I am the one with the blue hooded costume.:dance3:

I have to say, they do some pretty awesome stuff these days. Underneath all my bandages is a cooling system. I'm attached by hoses to a small cooler that we keep filled with ice, and every so many minutes, the contraption pumps cold water under my bandages to help keep the swelling down. I'd like to thank the person who invented this amazing thing!! It really feels good when the cool air is on it. Way better than trying to pile enough ice bags to get all the way through the bandages.

This is the device if you're curious:

I was just wondering, Can I get one of those for my beer?:lmao:

I am sure that news was really hard for her to hear. Tell her we wish her the best.

She may enventually join you on the golf course. It took my DH almost twenty years but he finally convined our youngest DD to try it. She really liked it. And, she liked spending the time one on one with her Dad. She really hasn't played much since we moved to FL and she is in graduate school in PA. But, she just called to say that U of FL is hiring for next year but it would be a real long shot for her to even get an interview since they want someone who already has the PhD not someone just finishing up. When she first said she would try golf I asked her if she wanted DH to teach her or did she want to take lessons, her response was -- "I survived when he taught me to tie my shoes and drive a car." The man is always trying to talk the kids into golf, our four year old DGD has her own left-handed putter already. She and "Bop" head out to the practice greens each time they visit FL.

Enough rambling, good wishes for her speedy recovery.

All four of us have been in that show. I was in it just a few years after it opened. The year I was picked both DD's were standing on either side of me jumping up and down and pointing down at me. This was way back when we wore colored socks with to match outfits and during the entire show the MC kept calling everyone's attention to my green socks. Both girls were picked the year they turned 18. It's become a family tradition to try to get in when one of the kids is 18. I think that we could all probably fill a book with our own particular Disney family traditions.

It was great meeing you at our mini meet. Hope the rest of your trip was the best.
