NATIONAL PARK -- The body of the West Deptford teen who went missing in the Delaware River Wednesday night was recovered Saturday after one of the boy's family members spotted it on the shoreline from a family-owned boat south of No Name Island.

Rescue workers recovered the body of Ryan Lewis, 17, at 1:28 p.m. between the Woodbury Creek and the inlet at Riverwinds, according to Dennis Kappler, Public Information Officer for the National Park Fire Department.

According to Kappler, emergency workers vigorously continued their search efforts... "to bring Ryan back to the family so they could have closure."

The teenager, a June graduate of West Deptford High School, was last seen around 9 p.m. Wednesday about 20 feet from the Beach Hill shoreline. He had gone into the river to aid three friends whose boat became stuck on a sandbar near No Name Island, a patch of sand and trees 200 yards from the shore, at low tide.

Lewis' family has not released a comment.

Andrew...

If you'd be good enough to stare at this little fellow long enough he'll count out your "settlement"...

And alternatively, if you'd just try those fortune cookie numbers again - I'm sure you'd have better lick next time. And if not - try those numbers again... and again and again! They're sure to hit ... eventually!

I'm kind-a tired now...

... we hit the Getty Museum today - ran there for 5 hours then went to Santa Monica Pier and downtown to hang out to escape some of the heat. In the evening we had a nice little diner with friends and now home late. I'll post some pictures some time soon...

SO... before I wander off - I'd like to bid a welcome home to Todd, Eyeorelover plus anyone else whom I missed by name. We missed ya - and look forward to your travel stories and photos! Cheers!

Andy, I'm thankful that Ryan's family will be able to have closure, but still so sorry for theirs and your loss.

Happy birthday to those who I've missed the last couple days. I was busy entertaining a 10 year old. He's my great nephew. First time he's ever spent the night at my house. Now I need a vacation!! Good thing we have none of our own :headache: :lmao: :lmao:

Have a great rest of the weekend everyone!

Hey Capt Jack! Showed your mug to my oldest and now she's clamoring to go - she liked that other imposter but then saw the picture I snapped. Here's a funny story which actually happened to me on Castaway.

Pam and I decided to walk to where the Dutchman was. While standing there that OTHER Jack pulled up. So I needed, of course, to take a photo op. Well as I finished someone in lined mentioned something about his sword and so I was actually muttering (must of been louder than I thought) to myself about being careful about his sword, when the next person in line said - hey hey - remember this is Disney - to which I replied - yeah well no worries - its well-protected - it just flew out of my mouth when I heard the crew member say - he'd been checking out my camera and was discussing with me the cost of it - anyway, he pops out with - I've heard that (in regards to the plastic cutlass he has I mean, - of course that is what I am talking about. :rotfl2:

So it took a second but later the implications slapped me upside the head - did he run into our Capt Jack or are we being monitored? Maybe they heard about what a rip-roaring, fantastically-planned adventure we have in store for us next year?????? :confused3

Either that or they are just gearing up for the real thing! :lmao:

Anyway, Jack, still working on DH for that Capt Norrington - I mentioned it and he said that he's a boring character - although I think the idea is growing on him especially since I told him he may be able to wear the Capt's coat. So, I may be contacting you sooner than I think. LOL - while here yesterday - he made reservations at his hotel in Vegas for next weekend. I just love my life - we get back Tuesday night and we "have" to go to Vegas on Friday. I love my life!   :dance3:

(OK - its not as glamorous as it sounds - my bro and his friend are in a wedding that weekend - they couldn't get rooms at a hotel - must be sold out or something big happening so the only way they can get rooms is via DH's connections which involves us having to go.) Therefore, this is an obligatory trip not a "fun trip" (:lmao: :rotfl2: :rotfl: ) and if you believe that have you heard about the cold snap in Los Angeles? Came in last night. Minus degrees.

Talk to you all later - sems I have returned to my whimsical ways and this DIS thing is taking over. I just remind them that I went almost 35 days w/o the internet and I'm just doing my homework and catching up.

Off to AK & MK later this evening and maybe some shopping if I have anything to say.

OH and if anyone is interested - I finally told DH about my "art auction" I "attended" :lmao: Had too - it showed up on the bill. He wasn't mad - I just told him it was what I really wanted. Details later - they are out the door - bye!!!!!!

Andy - sorry to hear about the young man - I have not had a chance to catch-up but assuming from the context of the posts that he was a special friend of Angelina. That is tough - please express my condolences to the family if you knew him and to yours also. Losing one so young is earth-shattering and monumentous. :grouphug: and my sympathiies.

Good Sunday Mornin' All! Hope everyone has a pleasant day. :hippie:

Welcome home Todd, Laura, Monica, Chris, Julie and anyone else I have missed.
