I wasn't going to post this because of the public nature of the boards, but in light of the recent discussions, here goes:

Had to drop out of chat suddenly on Friday. DS began telling me all the ways he had thought about harming himself that day. He didn't want to get in trouble anymore and decided if he killed himself, he wouldn't get in trouble. Spent that evening in the ER where the head of child psychology determined he was fit to go home. The thoughts (no actions so far, just expressing his thoughts) of hurting himself kept up all weekend, and intensified when we were meeting with his psychiatrist yesteray. They admitted him to the ER right away and finally found a spot at a crisis facility late that evening.

For now he's in for a minimum of 3 days. The doctors will determine if he needs to be in longer. They are already telling me that 3 days is usually not enough time to do a good evaluation.

While I'm devastated that my son was so distraught to think of hurting himself, I am so relieved that he never acted on those thoughts. And I am encouraged that maybe we can finally get all the agression, disobedience, and apparently depression under control.

< deep roaring chuckles >

OK, that's just wrong - on oh so many levels....

Somebody on Madison Avenue should be shot.

Do you want fries with your phobia?

Sorry neighbors....

.... didn't mean to be so .... disturbing. It just looked so funny to me - and certainly unexpected. The born with a silver spoon thing being substituted with a PLASTIC SPOON drew a vivid image in my minds' eye. A plastic spoon for what sort of baby... hmmm... and there it was ... the clown baby - perfect to have the PLASTIC SPOON of entitlement. And that spot of blue in my daughters' mouth IS blue bubble gum. DOn't tell her Mama.... and - may I add - ... fries with our phobias... what an image.... < steady silent grinin' >

BTW - the Page Museum was very enlightening for my daughter - but too small tomake a trip of it. So we blew Dodge and hit the beach on the way home - got a bunch of beautiful sunset photos - which I'll edit in later tonite after the kids are asleep.

I gotta go now - gotta get the kids to bed early - got a busy busy day tomorrow.

Hi Everyone!

Have been busy lately.

I'm studying for my recertification exam next month. I forgot how hard it is to sit and study for a few hours a day. Especially with children in the house.

My exam is on November 3rd. I have to review all of EM in a month.

On a happier note! My Barbossa sword came yesterday. It's really cool. Now I have to convert it to a six inch sword like Todd's.

I think I will need help Todd.

I also received my final frock coat fabric yesterday. It's a real good match to the one in the movie. I need to dye it to the right color though. We need a new washing machine anyway.

Hope to get to chat this week. Have been missing much due to work.

Have a great daypirate:

Pete ,

Just let me know what you need and I will help you in anyway I can ...Im sure the wife will LOVE the new washing Machine ...LOL

HotRods.jpg

Well...

... here's a photo of the Hot Rod gathering in NZ at Te Awamutu with 180 Hot Rods in attendance (below):

Open%20House%202.jpg

Before the cheap Japanese imports starting coming into the country (during the 1980s) a car would cost about as much as a house so I'm told. People would take great care of their treasured and expensive possession. Probably why the hot rods/vintage cars are in such good condition.

I remember my grandparents car was in pristine condition though it wasn't a hot rod or vintage, it was just a plain sedan. Apparently as soon as they got it, they covered the seats with crocheted covers and kept it immaculate. They never went hardly anywhere in and when they eventually decided to get a newer one, the older one was still virtually in new condition, albeit 15 years old. My aunt bought it from them and the first day out, my cousins spilled their chocolate icecream on the freshly uncovered seats. The following week someone crashed into them and totalled the car - luckily no one was hurt. Maybe it was bad karma for removing the crocheted covers:rotfl2:

We took Angelina to the Massage Therapy School last evening that she plans on attending next year. While she was there, she was given a "free" one hour massage(lucky girl). Angelina was even more excited about attending this school by the time we left. The people there are very nice. The classes are small, no more than 12 students per class. Angelina is signed up to start in August 2008, so I guess it was a good thing we canceled the PC Repo afterall, since the class would have started while we were away.

Did you see they have to take down all the Euclalyptus?? :sad1: :sad1:

Gosh, I've never even heard of the Eucalyptus League.

Do you want fries with your phobia?

Supersize 'em both.

Actually, it was a spork. We couldn't afford spoons AND forks.

You know what is really sad?

I saw that one coming.

I guess there is no limit to a parents love:love: or not wanting to break a promise to thier kids :music:

No limit to my love. However, there is a limit to the bottom of my pockets. Concert Promoters have no shame when it comes to telling your children their parents don't love them unless they get to go to a silly concert.

Time for a serious reality check if you would even be thinking of spending over $200-$500 per ticket for a kids bubble gum lip-sync fest.

Oh, he doesn't graduate until 2009 so we still have time to figure things out.

It's great that you show so much interest in picking college for your son. I was the first in my family to go to college and my parents never cared what i picked. (they sure as heck didn't contribute anything.) My mom (who i lived with) always claimed her contribution was not charging me rent for my stuff while i was away at school. (gee thanks:rolleyes: )

   Many hugs Monica..... Dealing with a child in pain is hard. I know this and finding good help is hard too. While my dd isn't trying to off herself she is still trying to punish us and herself by her binging that is still going on.

---Ok on to more ketchup...
