Maybe we should start a thread on the main board to find out ?

I did put a copy of this letter on the main board (in the Panama Canal $100 tax thread). We'll see. It shouldn't take long to sort it out.

Just popped over to the WB thread and John got the email too.

Now it's got me to wondering. When they say they are paying the passage for us, does that mean they are paying the original calculation as well as the extra $100. I highly doubt it but brings up another issue. Do we now hold them to the word of their letter and our total cost should now go down? Nah...I'm not gonna push it. I'm happy with the removal of the extra $100.

:wave2: Fellow NE family here...lots and lots of us here are planning this. For us, we're looking into Newark or Philly. I absolutely HATE JFK or LGA (sorry NYers). We too will be arriving a few days earlier to enjoy DL and get ready for the TOAL!!!

I would take an educated guess that the answer is YES!

Did you happen to notice DCLs typo in the August date?

We are looking into Newark or Philly, too. Need to decide about the pre trip. I would really like to go see DL, my oldest son isn't even sure he will be able to take off for the cruise let alone extra time, my sister can't get out until that Friday, and my husband is against spending any more money! I might just take my youngest who will be the most flexible out early, have my sister join us on Friday, and let my husband fly out on Saturday or Sunday with the other two.

I haven't gotten a letter yet, but I am booked through DU, so I guess I will hear from them.

Just stopped by the house to cool off for a few minutes and I found a package was waiting for me, inside I found the Capt'n Mickey I ordered back in February or March. It's been so long I forgot when I ordered it. I kind expected it to be a little bit bigger than this, but oh well, at least he finally made it..........:goodvibes

Cool Mickeys. Where did the coca cola bottle come from? Youngest DD would flip for that as she is totally addicted to Mickey & would be to coke given a chance (oddly enough we limit that to Sunday lunch & special occasions!)

We will be out a day to two early and do DL and stay on-site with DVC points.

Hey Tom...which Hotel are you aiming for? We're going out on the 14th.

I hate that SWA has dropped all their direct east coast flights to LAX. I really don't need another 2 hrs travel time in indition to the 5 1/2.

but more of being at a place in your life where you can make better decisions and better afford the toys you've wanted.

Hmmmm Not possible now...Maybe by 45 perhaps?

Am I the first to get this?

Woo Hoo.... See people ...you can fight City Hall and WIN!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I should know...i work for the county and people sneak by us alot....

Don't mess with them, there, pirate: 's. (and lawyers too)

All that schedule coordination and conflict would give me a :headache: ! :)

Our 'tentative' plans are that my DD and I will head out to CA several days ahead to see DL, participate in some awesome mini-meets and get used to the time change. My DH won't be able to take more time off from work. How old is your youngest? My DD will be 9 for the TOAL.

Someone might want to let Jason in on the new DCL letter though before the artical breaks.;)

I'll buy that... Besides, what's a new job for if you don't buy something fun? :cool2:

I've had 2 scooters - one Yamaha Riva 200 and a Twist & Go 150. By far the most reliable was the 200. Start slow and work your way up to going faster. Any you'll love parking it!

I'm a pirate:

Happy birthday Arlene!!!!!

Thanks again.. Checked on the Orlando Sentinel site and sure enough it is there. Also additional info on another year of a million dreams

Hee hee! My "baby" will be 15 for the cruise! I am a bit older than most I guess! But I just loooove Disney! And my youngest loves to travel and is a good sport about doing family things.

I never even thought about getting used to the time change; what a great idea!

Just got home and :cool1: a letter from DCL was in my inbox. We should all be kind and send them (who was it Joseph) a thank you note. For some reason I suspect that an article running in the newspaper tomorrow could have influenced this. I guess this ends my dream of them adding a veranda onto my Cat 9. :sad1:

I don't look at it as a midlife crisis, but more of being at a place in your life where you can make better decisions and better afford the toys you've wanted. I too lost a bunch of weight, got a tattoo, got a Harley, and flew half way around the world to Tokyo.

Agreed, Which is why I referred to it (when talking about myself) as a "midlife thing" and not a crisis. Because I don't think I was unhappy at the time, but rather exactly what you describe.
Now if I could get back in that mode to lose the weight all over again... that'd be nice. :rotfl:

About the DCL extra port fee for PC--- I had read an article somewhere -so apparently the media was getting wind of this and then DCL did a complete about face (if that is actually the case). I do wonder if DU and the other TA's that increased the OBC are now going to decrease it?

Remind me to make sure that Disney gets some fact checkers sometime soon:
I regret any confusion with the dates on our previous message. The
correct dates for the Panama Canal sailings are May 10 and August 17,
2008.

Sincerely,

The Coke bottle was sent to me by a DISfriend in Atlanta, Georgia. It has never been open and still has Coke inside. My friend sent this to me about 2 to 2 and 1/2 years ago.
