..the way we saw it,"one took what they could get"...on the 31st.

if our dreams girl hadn't "scored" for us..then we would have never
made it. ..literally fell alseep with the phone-singing- some
kind of 'beastly' song.... [ talk about ptsd].


however, i also felt ...the values of the dis boards...

as others/ & one in pecticular- tried to help others/us in getting rooms.

it was that type of disney's spirit that made this site "the place" to be..
in my opinion, its very , we have lost anyone from that group.


.....i hope alot of the "orginators" are still with us, and are able to make
it. . i started reading in the begining...it was self evident of
who worked the hardest to get the "ball" rollin..and still responsible for what
this site "is" today. * i probably shared more than most care to listen..,
[ i know my wife would've killed me]- but i figured.."what the heck" -you
all..are strangers,....& can work as a warning...because...what you read,
is true to life... .


why ?...our dcl cruises/trips....have been the cornerstone in our family's
traditions since the we been together....these vacations have alot
values to us. [even our early ones ...when we just visited for a day
or 2]. however, i am assuming- most are doing their disney's vacations
for the same reasons. any ways, those are the people we like sharing
our cruises with...except..for 's..we to share. into
reality...those are fightin words.




as for those dealing with trouble times, iam sorry for the losses/&
diffcuties..here's my favorite wishmaker .... ...in hopes that
things turn around and you feel better.

let's see? say something useful-- , now the pressure on....
does anyone realize we are 15 days from the " one year mark? "
crash?....have you seen the site about naming the new ships? here's
a few to chew on.... , the disney legend, the walter E. ,
or the disney's gold, ...the disney galaxy, ....the disney destiny?

..one can imagine the names you can add....but after this cruise, we
"all" might be able to "see"....the disney Jackpot? maybe not?

they ran those godfather's movies all weekend..maybe it just because
of my work..but from my observations..take out the guns & shootings,
one would "find" alot of family dynamics...similar to alot of families.

(Feeling the love.) Yes, i am grateful and grateful to the original person who gave me her name. And it was purely luck that i got assigned an SPH as i only asked for cat 10 mid levels. I was just on a list and rooms were not assigned until 1/31.

It still sucks a little when tons of others are spreading their joy that their TA's gave them SO MUCH MORE credit than many of us got.

I took the calculated risk of having less credit to begin with. I could have booked an ok cat 10 on-line at tier-1 and then transferred and got the super credit. I did have to "work" the day of booking (31st) and couldn't sit on the phone. I was lucky to even see the DCL site that morning in that with a government job, i never have any idea when an applicant will walk in or a meeting will be held.



I thought it was 5 that were claimed by dis'rs. i miss the room list.

I still have some of the room#s that were posted on 1/31. I was trying to see where I would be in relation to the other posters.WE are somewhat spread out.The only one in ? is a room # that was posted on deck 7 at the onset and the room doesn't exist So I wonder if they are actually on the cruise?
Loved Devons post earlier. She looks great in her pic. And I also am feeling a bit green that everyone got the extra $. However, I didn't realize it could've been transfered up until Tues. I was at work when it was posted so feel doubly green. Oh well, I do have a room#.

Regardless of whatever price tier you paid and how you made your ressie, this fee increase has stung most of us. I really do hope your TA offers you (and anyone else in your situation) some sort of OBC to help ease the burden. I realize it's not their problem, but it doesn't look like DCL is going to do anything for us! Best of luck!

If you are not with a TA, you can still transfer your ressie to DU.....the new deadline is Aug 31st.....which very well may get changed again....just thought I'd let you know!

I may be totally up a creek regarding the credit. When I heard about the cruise originally, I started emailing my TA about the cruise and if they would honor the DU OBC. She never officially answered and I took my chances. Poor lady called me total in a panic because she had been up for hours on the
31st waiting for DCL to open and then she could not get through. She was trying on the phone and her DH was trying on the computer. I got on the internet and was able to snag a room for us and one for my parents. Turns out TA got a couple eventually as well.
When the dust settled we kept 1 room I booked and 1 she booked.
If I end up with no credit, I will be a little bummed but will still be happy I used her.
Last summer I coordinated 31 of my family members to go on an Alaskan cruise. This TA was great! She ended up giving us a $200 credit and that was a little cheaper cruise but there were 31!! of us.
Who knows!

We booked the Grand Californian for March 14 and 15 so you better get booking ...We have a Mini Meet to attend .....

Bad thing is I have to wait till next month before I can book august for the cruise at the GC ....

I booked the Hojo for our stay, but my son keeps asking about staying onsite.

Maybe I can do a split stay. Off to the DL board to gather more information.

We're booked HOJO also. Much as I always say we'll stay onsite in Florida... I don't think it's as big of a deal in Ca. Partly because of the price but also because the HOJO is still walking distance. this TOAL is already expensive enough for us. My kids asked about staying onsite too but I just explained we can go sooner and stay more days (for more DL/etc.) if we stay offsite and it's not like it's far away -it's a short walk to DL.

Okay then......party in Jeff's room?

Agree that it's stung all of us regardless of what we originally paid for our rooms.
Also agree that it's not really the TA's problem but most people would agree that what DU has done really does give them the edge, and people like myself that use another TA are going to be HIGHLY tempted to use DU in the future seeing as how they handle even DCL's additional fees out of the blue/etc. That's for sure....

Originally, DU gave an OBC of $300 for cat 1-7 & $200 for cat 8-12....because of this increase, they DOUBLED the OBC! So, if you have a cat 6 & a cat 11, you would have $1000 OBC total. I'm not telling you this to "rub it in" or anything....just informing you of this so maybe you can show your TA to help you get something.

I just priced the Disneyland Hotel for 4 nights before the cruise.

Hopefully, we'll be able to get a room on our DVC points. We've never been to Disneyland, so we'd like to stay at one of the DL hotels. But if we can't get a room on points, then we'll check out one of the nearby offsite hotels instead.

I think my kids will like the Neverland pool at the Disneyland Hotel, but DW and I would really like GC. I'm looking forward to hearing about other people's experiences at the hotels to help us decide which one suits us best.
