I dunno - sounds to me like you've got the long lead item(s) well underway. why panic? I have to say, I am collecting our FL trip stuff in a laundry basket now - get's us well on the way to packing.

OK - this isn't DIS related, cruise related or even panama canal related!![]()
Has anyone here built a deck in the last few years? If so, did you use wood (ie cedar) or composite (ie trex, ChoiceTec, etc) decking? We are about to build an all new deck and would love some first hand opinions. DH usually tends to the traditional and is leaning toward cedar, but the idea of not having to stain/sealcoat and all the other maintance also sounds good. Composite, of course, costs quite a bit more, but if it lasts longer with less effort it could be worth it. Anyone have any thoughts or opinions?

We built a 1000 sq ft deck off our house out in CO a number of years ago. Compisite at that time was terrible and not to be used. (We looked at it seriously.) Wound up with cedar, or maybe redwood? In any case - and the point of this post - our contractor put the decking on with, I think they're called, toe-clips. You attach them to the bottom side of the decking, and screw it into the support structure there. No exposed screws. Means - if the deck ever needs to be sanded, or redone - no screws to get in the way (rent a power sander and finish in a fraction of the time!) And it looked WAY cool! Of course, we didn't stay there long enough to have to do anything other than refinish it once. (It's was pretty easy - if time consuming.)
That was some time ago. I've heard that the composites have improved, but we've pretty much decided that a deck - any deck is too much maintenance. The house after Colorado (in VA) we have to build a deck off the second story of the house. Make it little more than a large landing with stairs down to a paver patio. Of course, we didin't stay there long enough to have to maintain it either.
Here in CA - we did stained and stamped concrete. So far, it's our favorite - even over the pavers! (Oh, and we have stayed in this house long enough to maintain = pressure wash.)
We have a state-wide grocery store that's been giving us coupons for money off of gas depending on how much we purchase. Up to $50 you get 10 cents off a gallon up to 12 gallons, $100 = 20 cents off, up to 40 cents off! And now prices are under $3.00 a gallon!! Yesterday I got a 30 cents off coupon. That really helps!!
SWEET!!
We would want children's sizes, also. We would have 3 in Adult sizes and 2 in children's.
No worries, kids are on the menu.
Uh, shirts, kid's shirts are on the menu.
Hi all! I've only posted once on this very long thread - - I really can't keep up! I wanted to let anyone who might be interested in knowing that you can now make reservations for the hotels at the Disneyland Resort for pre-cruise. They just started taking reservations this evening! I just booked two rooms at the Disneyland Hotel. Wow - super expensive, but what else is new with this whole vacation!
Thanks for the heads up! Many of us already have reservations at the HoJo's. But you probably knew that.
