OK, just one more thing and then I'm outta here for a bit to get some work done.

A friend of mine just emailed this to me and I knew I would find an appreciative audience here... Sorry about the size, I couldn't get it to resize properly. Very strange.

To be posted VERY LOW on the refrigerator door - nose height.

Dear Dogs and Cats,

The dishes with the paw print are yours and contain your food.
The other dishes are mine and contain my food. Please note, placing a paw print in the middle of my plate and food does not stake a claim for it becoming your food and dish, nor do I find that aesthetically pleasing in the slightest.

The stairway was not designed by NASCAR and is not a racetrack
Beating me to the bottom is not the object. Tripping me doesn't help because I fall faster than you can run.

I cannot buy anything bigger than a king sized bed.
I am very sorry about this. Do not think I will continue sleeping on the couch to ensure your comfort. Dogs and cats can actually curl up in a ball when they sleep. It is not necessary to sleep perpendicular to each other stretched out to the fullest extent possible. I also know that sticking tails straight out and having tongues hanging out the other end to maximize space is nothing but sarcasm.

For the last time, there is not a secret exit from the bathroom.
If by some miracle I beat you there and manage to get the door shut, it is not necessary to claw, whine, meow, try to turn the knob or get your paw under the edge and try to pull the door open. I must exit through the same door I entered. Also, I have been using the bathroom for years -- canine or feline attendance is not required.

The proper order is kiss me, then go smell the other dog or cat's butt.
I cannot stress this enough!

I don't need them by Christmas & I'm going to buck the system & only order 4 black T-shirts for our family. DH would just not be thrilled if I was ordering the same t-shirt in 2 or 3 different colors for each of us & I doubt we'd be ordering pillow cases.

Thanks for all your hard work on this!!! :thumbsup2

We also do not need by Christmas.
We will be ordering 1 black and 1 white for 4 adults and 2 children to give you an idea.

No need by Christmas - we will probably go with the black shirts as well - 3 adults and 1 child - we will skip the white shirts and we will not do pillowcases. Thanks!!

Esteri - I LOVE the cats/dogs thing - it is oh so true!!! :rotfl2: :thumbsup2

I expect to order 1 white and 1 black each for 2 adults and 1 child. The dyed looks cool and if you decide to do that I might get a dyed child as well (DS8 can't get enough Pirate shirts!) I can order whenever works for the group - Christmas or JustInTime is fine for us.

The size thing for kids shirts is a problem (I have made many by hand so I know exactly what you mean!) If we have enough kids it is probably worth doing a separate smaller graphic. If it is only going to be a few, maybe we should just post instructions for ironing your own.

Actually, ironing your own is a good option for those who REALLY want a different color.....

Based on responses before, if we only have one order window (Just In Time), I'm not worried. We'll have enough kid shirts to make two screens sensible. With two order windows - one for Christmas. I start to get concerned about the Christmas kids order. But, I'm guessing here - I have incomplete data.

That was always the idea... ;)

The only reason I made the bucket dyed idea available is because I was planning on doing it for myself anyway - so, I might as well open the opportunity up to everyone else. :) Though, now that I look at the artwork more closely - I'll have to match that red, but make it either more washed out, or darker - otherwise the letters will visually bleed into the shirt and not be legible. Well, I'll figure it out.

Thanks for the tip, Tom.

For those who did not know (can't remember if I posted it or just through PMs --old age setting in this morning), Europe is the reason we canceled the cruise. SWMBO came back from Paris talking about how much she wanted to take the kids over and we had a family meeting and the kids were much more interested in England and France then cruising again. So we are off plotting a tour of the UK, followed by a day in Paris, and of course, a stop to see our Pal Mickey at DL Paris.

That's awesome.

I think this will be our last DCL vacation. My boys will be 8 & 11.
We're looking at the Grand Canyon & Europe most likely for our next two vacations.

I can't believe it seems like I won't have many more years before the boys are off to college.

Blink of an eye...

I have been over to the WB site seeing what their take on the panama tax and found this very good email with response from DCL.

The Toll Saga

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

In my latest e-mail to DCL, I said:

Given that I had already referred to the Panama Canal website in my
e-mail to you, suggesting that I look there for the explanation is not
particularly helpful. Indeed, it is their information which has led to
my query.
It is clear from the Panama Canal website that:
Until 30 September 2007 they will assess tolls on the Disney Magic by
tonnage.
From 1 October 2007 they will assess the tolls on a per berth basis, at
the rate of $100 per berth.
The new method of assessment is instead of the old, not as well as. It
is not a new tax, simply a new method of calculating that tax.
DCL should only be charging the difference between the 'old' and the
'new', as you have already incorporated the 'old' tax into the original
cruise cost. By charging the $100 per person, the passengers are being
asked to pay the same tax twice.
I am not asking for any "special consideration". I am asking DCL to
provide a clear explanation, with figures, to justify this additional
$100 charge.
Once again I would ask that you pass this request to the department who
can provide a full explanation.
Their latest reply:

While I can appreciate your thoughts around the pricing of a Disney
Cruise Line vacation, we are unable to provide an itemized listing of
all the items included in our guest's voyage fare. Regardless of what
costs may have been included in the past, the new per person toll
structure to transit the Panama Canal now allows us to pass this cost
directly on to our guests. Therefore, as previously mentioned, there is
an increase of $100 per person in the Government Taxes & Fees being
assessed for your sailing.

Aaaaaaaaaaaaghhhhhh!!!!!!!

This response is totally unacceptable. :sad2: Yes the new tax (charge) was designed for the cruise industry to pass on to the passengers. We still have to pay to go through the canal. The passenger has to pay the charge either 1) in the cost of the cruise or 2) as a separate surcharge. That is OK with me, I accept that I have to pay passage through the canal. But what really gets me is DCLs insistence that this is an increase and not a new method of collecting the tax. This is not an increase it is a restructuring of how the fee is calculate per passenger not on The Panama Canal/Universal Measurement System (PC/UMS) based on net tonnage which it is now. DCL had to figure in to our fares each of our portion of the PC/UMS fee (approximately $70-80/person). They are therefore charging us almost double for PC/UMS that they anticipated paying plus the new method that the PC has decided to assess the charges. DCL is basically saying that we are just going to keep the money that we have charged you already and you get pay the new method.

Anyway the other site is doing an email campaign and John (Jhalklas) is locating a higher contact person to email to versus the standard email responses that people are getting.

Happy Birthday Mitchell/DS8 of Tom31b!!!

Hi Everyone,
Happy Weekend!!! Just wanted to say a quick hi. I've got myself a little stressed as I'm not as ready as I hoped I be at this point. Plus I volunteered to organize 2 Ladies Brunches & an Ladies Afternoon Tea - that's going great but I spend more time on cruise stuff than my other projects!!!! Some might say I've got my priorites straight!!!!
I vote for ordering the t-s****s at the later date. Not sure what I'll be ordering though!!!
Cheers!!

THANK YOU for checking the other thread! Do they have a "standard letter" they are using for their campaign? I was starting to write one, but if someone has done it I'd be happy to avoid the work! I definitely think we should all email, write letters, call (whatever we each like best or all 3!) and keep after DCL on this. It may or may not work, but Disney does have a reputation for responding when there is a major outcry about something. If you come across a better email to send to, please let us know.
