I can tell you I don't know what has happened over the last few weeks but this just dosen't seem to be the same happy, loving party, planning folks that were posting then. I only hope that whatever happened can be put away and more happy peacefulness put in it's place. Here's to hoping that we can turn it around and let go of whatever it is that now has a hold on this thread. I would like to hear more about what folks are planing have found out about ports or the kids and pets at home.

.... Hope every is having an awesome week-end
.

So I logged on to relax after 12 hours in the car...

notsomuch.

I've been avoiding this as much as I can, but I have to say that I don't have this much drama in my real life & I'm certainly not going to put up with it on vacation!

I'm going on a trip of a lifetime with my family. I am excited about that. Making new friends and having fun while planning is a nice bonus. Most of you guys seem great - I can even see making lasting friendships with many of you, but at the end of the day, if you all were to disappear, I would still be looking forward to this trip with my husband and my boys. It surprises me that not everyone sees it that way.

I don't want this to get shut down, most of us are enjoying ourselves. I really hope that we can get out of this rut soon and get back to having fun. I don't know how to make that happen, but if I could, believe me, I would.

M.

(somewhere in Kansas)

Totally agree M, our family is going to have a great time with or without anyone else.

Wow, I have a quick look at things while I am on vacation and the what the heck has happened around here? :confused3 JR that was nice of you to step in and FINISH the work on the web site--apparently all the security issues weren't addressed before it was made public. That was the big hold up on the web site to begin with, wasn't it?

I am also sorry that you have cancelled your cruise--I know that it is never an easy decision. But life does have a way of happening and changing things for us.

I haven't been posting much at all lately and try to make it to chat when I can. But I tell you the wind needs to change over here, it used to be a lot of fun to read and post, but it has been different for awhile. I sure hope it changes back to the fun board it used to be by fall when I will once again have the time to be an active poster.

OK....

At the risk of perpetuating some of this - I want to just say I agree in general with the above comments and hope this all blows over. I have 8 (or 9?) cabins of family and old friends booked and am going on the voyage. I have been myself here just having a little fun poking fun with my images and comments - and now it's looking so "serious" and ... (I don't know what - but as I read backwards I'll figure it out eventually - maybe). So, I am reading backwards to try and catch up - and at the same time I am biting my tounge to not ferment any further chaos. I for one do not like what I am seeing in general - and wish folks could have just been more cordial somehow.

Oh well ... I am just working my way backwards to catch up a little before I turn in. I had a wonderful BBQ dinner with old friends - and tomorrow we're having a BBQ lunch pool side. Then we're gonna try and take it easy and not run all over the planet!

OK I'll say it...GABBIE GET OFF YOUR HIGH HORSE......... there is more here than just JR. There is Todd and all his Graphics work...There WAS Lisa, till some chased here away, there is Judy who set up the First Page and Countless others who have tried to help. Yes JR should get a thank you for his work but PLLLEEASEEE get off it because your not sounding very smart right now to the the rest of us that have helped or supported and know of these people who have performed other functions on this thread.

Of course maybe your really ***** and just trying to start something....after all you said you had under 50 posts....

Thank you... however this was a bit stiff worded - and I think I'm beginning to feel if you had not said this then maybe I would have. However, I might have endeavored to be a little less stiff. I just want folks to settle down and not look for conflict as if it was the real objective.

_______________________________________

OK.... I see the problem now...

this post is offensive and over the top - I wasn't in chat but NOTHING that has gone before on this thread has come anywhere near this.

I am also saddened to see ANYONE drop out - but this post just goes beyond acceptable.....

I am becoming embarrassed to be associated with this thread......

... and it is NOT pansmermaidzlagoon. Flames of the sort that pansmermaidzlagoon quoted are way out of line as was stated. In 66,000+ postings no one has said anything quite like this and I can only say I am NOT thinking this is ANY reflection of the thread or it's contributors... but the rantings of ONE person. This smacks of the work of folks from another web site who chaf at the unity and happiness we've spawned here with 66,000+ postings and 650,000 hits. I think it a shame anyone would engage in such commentary ... and what else can I say that should be said THAT has not already been said.

Oh well.... to all who were offended by the comments vented - I would like to counsel that this should NOT keep you away as it is probably what the original author was seeking to accomplish - that's just my opinion. I'm entitled to it ... and that's what I see. We should be able to dissent without engaging in a series of remarks as were posted by the entity which pansmermaidzlagoon quoted.

Oh well... it all stinks and if I were the one having posted those type of comments and attacks I would not be very proud or defensive - as pithy retorts have no high ground to stand upon here.

OK... I have nothing more I need to see on this matter. I've seen enough. Old friends - when you're ready to swing by - please do. New friends lurking - what you've seen is IMO is just one persons' pointy opinion. It does not reflect the spirt of the community... obviously. And if this language reappears in another "entity" I would be suspicious of it's origin.

.... sigh.....

Ditto

Totally uncalled for. I thought we were dropping this and getting back to conversing with each other and stopping all the backstabbing?

Reminds me of the first ham and pinapple pizza we ate. It looked strange at first but really good. When you think of it, it is like one big taco but with a pizzacrust.
Used to go to a Pizza Place in NYC called Goldbergs Pizza. Yes Goldbergs. He had the strangest concoctions and piled the toppings so high that you had to eat it with utensils. (I remember one of the topping was smoked salmon and Cream Cheese with onions.)When DD was an infant we had a hankering for one of our fav and DH drove into the city from Bklyn and brought one home. It was so good.Wonder if he is still in business. It was in 1975. The pizza here down south leaves a lot to be desired.

I lived in Colorado Springs for about three months back in 1975. My friends took me to a pizza place, as I recall, I think it was called Wells Fargo(too many years have passed), anyhoo, I had an Hawaiian pizza (ham and pineapple), one of the best pizza's I ever tatsted!!!

Dh_chrisva I am sorry that you felt the need to say something that got the ***** I am sure it was umm colorful.

Just for everyones info, this was not a BAD word...Well on DIS it is.... It is only the name of another Crew which also sails under a Pirate banner.

Totally uncalled for. I thought we were dropping this and getting back to conversing with each other and stopping all the backstabbing?

Arlene, Agreed...
But then Gabbie went and posted what she did, and she got personal with a few of the ladies. Myself and others were only trying to to get her to think before she types becuase statements about being bad parents and other comments are totally uncalled for here. I think if you start from the beginnning of the conversation it was "she" that started the attacks and Myself and others were trying to get he to stop....anyways ...dropped....

On that note...I'm back to having fun...

....

I haven't downloaded it yet, but DH took a picture of me next to a dress on display because I competed against that dress!

Totally cheesy, I know, but I though it was fun.

Thank you M for saying this... as it put me back into perspective... I am going to gear down with your words of counsel ringing in my minds' eye...

I am clamping down and discontinuing commentary on the prior "hot" issues.

I'm meeting the kids and grandkids at MCO on Thursday and heading into Disney for a couple of days to kick off their annual visit. Although DH and I stop in on his days off, there is nothing like going to the parks with the little ones. Hopefully the two year old will have gotten over his fear of the characters. It will be nice to have pictures with two smiling grandchildren and not one happy and one trying to get as far away from the character as possible. Both daughters have requested an early lunch break at Earl of Sanwich.

Barbara

My DD was 3 the first time we went and somewhere got rattled with
Captain Hook. The next year we stayed at the Contemp and don't you know everywhere we went in that hotel the Captain would be coming out of a side door etc. Poor kid was so traumatized the whole trip. I can totally relate to your comment. She was looking all around to make sure he was absent.

I don't want to hurt anyone's feelings but could I just please ask that if somebody wants to have words with somebody personally if they could please PM them? I would really hate to see this thread closed since I am really looking forward to planning a TOAL & getting together with some great people that I have shared stories with for the last few months & hopefully meet new ones. I hope the rest of us can just move on & get back to talking about pirates, Disney, or cake! :grouphug:

Ok folks it really is beginning to feel more like the thread I remember. I don't have a clue what happened but I agree with allshoockup and if you have an issue please work it out with the person by PM them. I will be on this cruise regardless but am really looking forward to meeting all of you. I want to be a part of this group. That being said let's get on with the business at hand. DISNEY!!!!!

MMMmmm :cake:

I especially like Disney cake! :cake:

MMMmmm Disney :cake:

MIL is/was an ice skater. She has skated many years in Paramount which is a local rink that has been graced with many a star. She has gotten my youngest into it but she is more of a dabbler. I have a niece in Scotland that is a avid competition skater but not professional as far as I know. When it became a competition between the two - I stronly discouraged my DD from entering into that world and instead turned her onto to sewing, designing and now sports since she is in high school! :scared1: Gosh that sounds so weird - my last high schooler!

Strange but good in a weird sort of way! :)

I've been to the Paramount rink. Disney Ice is my favorite in LA though. It is a beautiful rink (go figure).

Don't get me wrong...I was never that great, just good enough to make the big comeptitions. I had brushes with greatness...as they passed me in the corridors...

I retired when I graduated from high school - as my mom put is, "That was fun, now you have to get on with life." I wanted to take a year off and skate with Disney on Ice, then go to college, but my folks wouldn't let me. I made DoI as a line skater - not good enough for solo in a big show like that. I un-retired for 2 years when I was 24-25 and worked by tail off to skate Senior because I topped out at Junior level in HS.

It was a lot of time and a lot of $$$, but I can't imagine being me without that experience. Although sewing would be a much more useful skill nowadays!

I want to be a part of this group. That being said let's get on with the business at hand. DISNEY!!!!!

I'll wave to you when I pass through KC in about an hour!

Alas, too early for BBQ

M, could you post your Blog address. I must have missed it the first time around. Thanks!!! :)

Oh Look ....A peanut..

Now back to our regular scheduled cruise ...

Sooooooo What was your Favorite scene from AWE ????

pirate:

The scene with Elizabeth in that little blue robe and the pirates looking up through the cracks... :lmao: :lmao:

No, probably all the Jack insanity shots with multiple Jacks....

Janet and I are going to WDW 9/1/07 to spend 6 days before our 7 day Western cruise to celebrate our 20th anniverasry. In 08 we are doing both the Repo and the 5 day. It is going to be awesome. My sisters may join us on the five day. It all depends on how much she enjoys the cruise this fall.

My sister had a great loss this past December 06. Her Husband of 23 years died at 62 years. They have 9 year old twins. The family went to DL each spring so I invited them to go to WDW and the cruise with us. (Kinda the same yet different) She accepted and is really looking forward to the trip. I can't wait we leave for WDW on 9/1/07 and then get on the ship 9/8/07. I need that vacation. Now I need to get breakfast so I can get ready to go to the office to keep my rear out of hot water. I am behind and have only one day left to get caught up. Will check back later tonight if I'm still standing. Have a happy sunday, Lois

I was in the Pirate room at the World of Disney store and the mechanical Parrot they have yelled "Take what you can, Give nothing back!!! Made me think of Rogers story while onboard.:thumbsup2

I saw same, but it only says that about every 1/2 hour or I would have video'ed it for here.

I'll wave to you when I pass through KC in about an hour!

Alas, too early for BBQ

I will look for you! KC is not a bad place to be. If you are ever out this way again I would recommend a small BBQ place called LC's BBQ. It is the only place I will get my BBQ. It is really just one of those small hole in the wall resurants where you get some of the best food.

Please be safe on your travel across our wonderful country. If I haven't said it before THANK YOU for all your family gives up to be of service to this counrty. Without folks like you and yours we would not have the freedoms we currently have. My day was a career Navy man and my X did 14 years in the Navy left shortly after we divorced. I really do understand what you gain as well as lose. God bless you all. Lois

All that and a paycheck too! This part is annoying, but it is a pretty good life.

Hole in the wall places are the best. We are avoiding chain restaurants during this trip. Sometimes it is a challenge, but it has been worth it.

Sorry, I'll miss you in KC. We gotta boogie since we are meeting my Dad on hte IL side of St. Louis later today.

Thanks Tom - you beat me to my blog address.

Thanks Tom!!! :thumbsup2

I just got in from doing some yardwork that I started yesterday, but didn't finish. Wanted to get it done early before the HEAT of the day set in. Now that I'm back in the cooler house, I'll go check out M's blog. ;)

Afternoon everyone - I've been left on my own for a few hours as Helen has taken Alex to a choir rehersal - lovely day with lots of sunshine and the peace is wonderful.:)
