No, no, not you!!! Just the whole lurker/post count thingy. I WISH I could post those cakes, but I can't even figure out how to do the smilies! So I just stick to the simple replys.
Sorry but with everything going on, I forgot to respond to this earlier! I swear I will not forget your Mickey cake!!!![]()
Sorry my posting size of letters are "HUGE".
I am proud to be an American!!!!
Karen
To all our friends in America
Have a great holiday today and enjoy your celebrations.
Best wishes
David, Helen, Alex & Bethan.![]()
Just wanted to say,THANK YOU
for taking this on. It looks awesome and I appreciate all the work you are doing to make everyone's cruise more special.
I think at some point we were all "lurkers"........
I joined the DIS in 2002 to research my first cruise. I never participated in ANY conversations for almost two years. That did not make me weird - I was just totally uncomfortable with having conversations via typing (I felt the same way about emailing) with people . I finally took the plunge and joined in for the 2004 cruise meet thread which I had been *lurking* for quite some time. Even though many relationships were already established and I was very cautious in my postings, I was welcomed and invited to all activities that had been being planned long before I joined. I was also PM'd almost immediately with info to the cruises' "navigator". For this, I am forever grateful to those seasoned, veteren DISers that went out their way to make me feel welcome, because it really took alot of nerve on my part to jump into the fray. If had been greeted with some of the comments I read here I would have felt really bad.
As far as people lurking on this thread, FWIW, this is my take on it - Partipate as much (or as little) as you feel comfortable with. I think everyone should be made to feel welcome regardless of their post count. Some of the nicest, friendliest people I met on our last cruise did not hardly ever post on our meet thread. I never once thought to question why - just enjoyed their company.
JMHO - Peace![]()
Wow, I knew I would find some cruisers with like minds, but you must be following me. Lunch (or Dinner) at Earl of Sanwich topped off with a Dark Chocolate Hot Fudge Sunday at Ghiradelli is the only way to go! Last time we were ate lunch there it was about 3:00 PM and it was less crowded (I don't think I have ever seen it empty, at least not in the last couple of years). But with the meet being on a holiiday, all bets are off as to how crowded it will be.

I watched the end of Nathan's Hot Dog Eating Contest a little bit ago. Joey Chestnut from the USA won the title with a world record breaking feat of eating 66 hot dogs and buns. The old record was 59 and 1/2 hot dogs and buns.
Karen,
We are going to Colonial Williamsburg in August (with Disney!) and I am soo looking forward to it!!![]()
This sounds like my dh! He made a complete LIAR out of me on the 10night cruise!![]()
I had told everyone that he is shy and probably wouldn't talk much! And what did he do! Talk to everyone! LOL! I've known the man for over 28yrs and I have never seen him talk that much!He even talked to others first!!! We usually went on seperate shore excursions (and we each took at least 1 or 2 of the kids with us -- we have 5 kids) and he told how if he saw someone wearing the Dis lanyard he tried to introduce himself!!!

Arlene--actually, I have been up since about 3:30am. I have a bad case of poison ivy
that I caught at work the other day. Aveno is helping with the itching, but I was very uncomfortable trying to sleep last night. I did get in a 15 minute nap around 8:30 this morning..................

Have a great 4th of July to all the folks from the great USA!
Impressive, yet pretty gross, too . . . there was much talk around here on the news that the defending champion (a young Japanese guy) was suffering from arthritis of the jaw (?!) and was having a hard time opening his mouth all the way! Sound like Joey was going to break the record regardless of the competition, though.
Thanks Andrew!!!!! I am glad someone likes us and the USA !!!![]()

I totally agree with your sentiments!!! I went on my first cruise and had a great time.
I discovered the Dis Board for my second cruise(10 Wonder).I really met some great people on my second cruise!!! I consider some of these people friends for life!!! Isn't that right Step 5 and Diapp?????I felt like I was part of a huge family and help was only a Dis person away!!

That fellow from Japan finished in second place with 63 hot dogs and buns. I guess his jaw wasn't hurting as much as he was leading on.
What were you doing in the woods Andy?????![]()
OK... I'm taking the plunge...you've convinced me that this is a good thing & will make our trip even better than it's going to be. I admit i've been checking in whenever I get a chance... You all sound like you're a fun group & I look forward to actually meeting you on the cruise. This is my son's and my TOAL!We've been trying to go on a cruise for a couple of years & finally we're able to make it! Never been on a cruise... but have been to WDW many, many times & DL a couple of times. You could say we're Disney geeks.... but that's a good thing. I'll check in again soon!
Thanks for making me get off my keyboard & jump!![]()
Penny
I forgot!!!! When are you leaving?????![]()
Yes, Jon did make a liar ourt of you!!!!![]()

Penny....your son will have lots of kids in his age group on the cruise. My son, Drew, will be turning 12 later this month, so by cruise time he'll have just turned 13.
On our last cruise, Drew made a friend (a fellow DISers, son) at the terminal, and they hung out all week together. They went to the arcade, Ocean Quest, Movies, swimming, ect. He will have a BLAST! But.....be prepared to only see him at dinner.![]()
OK, I dare ya!I am sure I can find someone here to double dare you.
You simply cannot turn down a double dare.![]()
I am not very clever or wise. I don't have the knowlege of computers(JR ,TOM, AND TOM) or the humor and wit of others. I am also one of the OLD kids but I always felt welcome by all. Try chat again. It took me weeks to learn what to do.I have not met one person on this board not willing to help or answer a question. Of course we all state our opinions!!!

No one really lurks. I think it does sound like a nasty word.. Sometimes we are just lookers and trying to learn. Everyone has their own comfort zone. None of us mean to cross it. We would just like everyone to feel all our welcome here.![]()
Hey JR...
... I think this is more then a dare or double dare offer from M-Mom ... looking at the tag fairy remarks I would consider this a deal you cannot refuse....
![]()
Don't be surprised if ya find a horse head in bed with you some time soon... and ya just might wanna consider doing as M-Mom sez. I don't suppose the "M" in M&M stands of Mafia with one M and ???? Malicious with the preceeding "M"??

Hi Laurie! The pace has slowed down considerably on this this thread, so I hope to hear from you more often here. Hope you are having a great summer.

Have a great time Roger! Say, are they going to do any special fireworks tomorrow?
