This was beautifully spoken Mary. And everyone elses' remarks were also nicely put as well. I was the guy taking the short cut with the picture alone... but seeing as I too lost my Mom near 20 years ago - I have serious and real feelings about things like this. It was (and remains) easier for me to try and keep it simple.

Tom your picture was beautiful and eloquent. You know they say a picture is worth a thousand words and I think your choice was lovely and thoughtful!

As it's 11:30 pm here in the UK, I'm also saying "Goodnight" !!

I am the same way with basketball ......

I support the University of North Carolina and whoever is playing "Dook" University. :lmao:

I was cheering against Dook in lacrosse over the weekend and I don't even follow lacrosse. :)

I too make a mean lingini with white clam sauce. Secret is "garlic" BAM!!!!

Also I make a delicious pasta carbonara!!! I am getting hungry right now!!!!!!!

Gotta go and eat!!!!

Karen

Also Tiramisu!!!!!!!

Karen

Y'all are making me hungry. Dinner tonight was two slices of frozen pizza (well, it wasn't frozen when I ate it, but you know what I mean). Should have eaten the cardboard. But one kid has soccer practice, the other had to be shuttled to a 'music department celebration' and time is short tonight so dinner had to be made quickly.

I hesitate to post this here, mainly because I hate bringing this thread down & you are all having such fun, but since I did let you all know that I had to fly down to Florida as soon as we got back from HHI, because my mother had yet another blockage in her heart & I think it's only fair I keep you updated. We since found out it she was inoperable due to her age (77), emphazema, etc. & unfortunately she passed away yesterday. I am truly okay & at peace, especially since I got to say my goodbyes a few weeks ago. The last time I spoke with her was on was fittingly on Mother's Day. She is in a way better place than she had been in a very long time & truly she kept saying she was tired & she just wanted to go. She was back & forth from a rehab hospital to a regular hospital. She was on her death bed one minute & fine the next. :confused3 She went back in the hospital Sunday due to congestive heart failure. They had her sitting in the chair yesterday & she asked to lay down because she was not feeling well & she died shortly after. The nurses say she passed peacefully. She is to be cremated & her remains sent up here for burial with my father. We are hoping for a graveside service next weekend so I probably won't be on much next week. But really I am fine & in fact had posted as usual yesterday, shortly after finding out. I was enjoying all the POC intrigue & didn't want to interrupt. ;)

Please don't worry about bringing us down. If there is anything we can do to make you smile a little, let us know. You can even make fun of me if it helps. I lost my mom two years ago suddenly and I know how you must feel. You'll be in my prayers tonight.

They got something like this for houses? My boys could sure use a little help!

Tell them to sit down. That's what we finally had to do. Now they have to clean their own bathroom, so that helps.

They're gonna have the rumor mills aflame pretty soon if so. I thought this edition of POTC was pretty good. A shade long but the enthusiasm in the crowd here was strong. Applause and lots of folks in pirate attire - but nothing like having Todd in Vegas.

So you think the soonest they would bring out another POTC edition is 2009? I think they'll try and spring one on us in 2008! Unless you think it cannot be done that quick.

The problem with 2008 is that JD is committed to other projects that conflict and they don't have a script. I'm leaning towards a late 2009 or 2010 date.

I can't believe my eyes!!!!

I didn't think anything like this was POSSIBLE in this day and age. Especially since it's been out for 30 years now!

Add me to the list, I've never seen any of the Star War films either, they just aren't my cup of tea.

I don't mind some frozen pizzas....

... and my menu for the evening just got derailed ... my spouse called as I was laying everything out and suggested we hold off til tomorrow for the clam sauce... - as tonight was for the ciopinno and the last of the left overs. I guess that's OK as we don't want too much at one time left over in the fridge.

NOw... there are many frozen pizzas out there that should NOT qualify as Pizza - but as you cited ... they should be labeled as "pizza packaging only... and should not be confused with being actual pizza"! I may not have mentioned this before but near 20 years ago I almost OPENED a pizza restuarant! The simple details were that it was a closed restuarant - and I was gonna pick it up for a few cents on the dollar. It needed to operated to get the traffic going and I thought I could resell it for a tidy profit as an ongoing (turn key) concern. However, my family counsel straightened me out and suggested we do something else as this deal looked badly flawed. The current owner had a nervous breakdown from running it and his family was liquidating it. Or something like that.

I held off to do something else with a little less risk and where I had more natural strengths and advantages.

...:confused3 ... and I still don't mind some frozen pizzas!

Me too! And what about when his spyglass was smaller and the next time he came out with a big one? I laughed out loud then, too!

My DS had to tell me to quiet down because I was laughing so loud at that!:lmao:

If you can go in this without falling down, head back into the bar and have another pint! :drinking1

I'm absolutely speechless - well actually I could say something but I'd probably get banned !!!

David

How about this one?

Well, this was DiGiorno® Harvest Wheat Crust pizza. I need to remind SWMBO that 'healthy' and 'frozen pizza' don't go together and just to buy the regular kind.

:rotfl: :rotfl2: :rotfl:

I think there are only about 4 storylines in the world and they just change the names and settings! :thumbsup2

I remember reading somewhere that there are actually only 10 or 15 "master plots" and that every book/movie/tv show/short-story can be traced to one of them.

Diane - I'm so sorry.:grouphug:

But you know what is really funny? I couldn't stop snickering when Jack had his sword broken in POTC:AWE because of the conversations on this board.

Me too! I'm just glad it didn't have a protective rubber coating!

Is that Ann Coulter?

Oh good golly, please tell me that she doesn't have a gun!

Did they ever explain when Beckett and Jack met and what 'mark' CJS left on Beckett (physically, spiritually, or gramatically)?

I can't recall if this was cleared up in either movie.

Perhaps it was ecumenically. :confused3

They got something like this for houses? My boys could sure use a little help!

I just might add this in my new house.

They are a bit older now, but after sharing a ahhh "facility" with my boys for more than a month on the last move, I laid down the law when we moved into this house: never, ever, ever, use Mom's bathroom (we have 3, so they have 2 others to choose from). I've already told them that if their aim doesn't improve, they will spend most of the summer looking for a suitable tree whenever they have to go.

Diane, I am so sorry for your loss. It is never easy, but you seem much more at peace now. My prayers are with you and your family.
