I always come down at least once or twice to pay a visit to the early diners. And then I feel stupid floating around the room like the Queen of England....but oh well, I'm on vaca.:thumbsup2

Last cruise with having the early & late groups linked it was great to go visit the "other" DISers knowing right where they would be. On pirate night we stormed the dining room & commandered a few more souls for our group picture in the atrium. Todd....were you able to walk in with us or were you buys with DCL photos? The last morning the late people came to see us during early at 7 am and we followed them to late seating to say goodbye to everyone there. :sad1:

Had my mani this week too. Picked what I thought was a really pretty coral. It's orange. No, it's yuck. How embarrassing, and I have to look at it for two weeks.:sad2:

Seriously??? Your nail polish lasts for 2 weeks?!?!??!:scared1:

I received this and had to share.............................
Subject: MOTHER'S DAY STORY

So, we had this great 10 year old cat named Jack who just recently died. Jack was a great cat and the kids would carry him around and sit on him and nothing ever bothered him. He used to hang out and nap all day long on his mat in our bathroom.

Well we have 3 kids and at the time of this story they were 4 years old, 3 years old and 1 year old. The middle one is Eli. Eli really loves chapstick. LOVES it. He kept asking to use my chapstick and then losing it. So finally one day I showed him where in the bathroom I keep my chapstick and how he could use it whenever he wanted to but he needed to put it right back in the drawer when he was done .

Last year on Mother's Day, we were having the typical rush around and try to get ready for Church with everyone crying and carrying on. My two boys are fighting over the toy in the cereal box. I am trying to nurse my little one at the same time I am putting on my make-up. Everything is a mess and everyone has long forgotten that this is a wonderful day to honor me and the amazing job that is motherhood.

We finally have the older one and and the baby loaded in the car and I am looking for Eli. I have searched everywhere and I finally rounded the corner to go into the bathroom. And there was Eli. He was applying my chapstick very carefully to Jack's . . . rear end. Eli looked right into my eyes and said "chapped." Now if you have a cat, you know that he is right--their little butts do look pretty chapped. And, frankly, Jack didn't seem to mind.

And the only question to really ask at that point was whether it was the FIRST time Eli had done that to the cat's behind or the hundredth.

And THAT is my favorite Mother's Day moment ever because it reminds us that no matter how hard we try to civilize these glorious little creatures, there will always be that day when you realize they've been using your chapstick on the cat's butt.

Paula so gross yet so true :rotfl2:

We had a great weekend in the Tidewater Area with our friends and our adopted granddaughter Kimberly. She is a real sweety!

We talked them into cruising with us again. The last time was before Kimberly. We will book the first week in January 2009 when we cruise this December. :woohoo: Cruisin' with Kimberly. :cloud9:

Glad you enjoyed your weekend! That is great about some cruise buddies:)

I haven't read that book, but I know enough about it to agree with the general premise. We have a nice house, I have a nice car (saved $12,000 by buying 1-year used & we drive them until they die!). I even have nice clothes, I'm just not into labels. I won't buy clothes at WalMart (wait, I don't buy anything at WalMart!), but I'm not terribly impressed with designer labels, although I will pick up the bargain big label jeans at Costco!

It's a matter of personal priorities. I spend money on the things that are important to me. We go on a nice vacation at least once a year, we save a pretty high % for retirement, our kids will be able to go to college without student loans (at least that's the plan so far). We go out to dinner. We go out for a really nice ($$$$) dinner a few times a year, I don't drink cheap wine or beer or coffee (but I make the coffee at home), I don't use a cheap camera, we spend roughly a gabillion dollars on hockey each year, I buy excellent quality kitchen items, because those things are important to us...OK me! Getting my clothes from Nordys isn't important to me.

If I get to be a millionaire someday because of it...cool!!!!!!

(although I'm not holding my breath!)

ITA that you have to have your priorities straight. We have never had a new car but also have 4 vehicles and a 19' bayliner. I can now say that we not only don't have a car payment...we also do not have a house payment. The CC is paid off every month. There are a lot of things that we could have or do but we choose not to. I have been struggling on PB&J and Mac & cheese in college putting myself through school and do not want my kids to have to experience it to that extent.

Hi.. before I go off to ketchup on the last 100 or so pages..

I am thinking of adding DDP to our trip this July-August..

So anyone have experence to share with -

Kona Cafe
Wolfgang Puck Cafe
Concourse Steakhouse
OHana
Coral Reef
Boma
Mama Melrose
Le Cellier

Thanks be back soon

We are lucky enough to live close and eat at Disney frequently. Kona Cafe is a great choice. Their warm chocolate lava cake is a must. They also have that bannana stuffed french toast at breakfast. Two of our other favorites are LeCellier and Coral Reef but they are so hard to get priority seating for. Le Cellier has a filet over mushroom risoto that is wonderful. You can't beat Coral Reef for the setting. The last time we were there a guest was celebrating a birthday and were sitting right up front by the window to the aquarium. They coordinated the birthday cake and singing with the diver in the tank holding a Happy Birthday sign. My daughter and husband love Boma. It's been a few years since we ate there but I keep hearing wonderful things about it. Hope this helps.

Yep, and they take a beating, too. Didn't even chip (well, a little) when my thumb got crunched in the gun last weekend.

You asked for it ;)

The REAL ID Act of 2005 is Division B of an act of the United States Congress titled Emergency Supplemental Appropriations Act for Defense, the Global War on Terror, and Tsunami Relief, 2005, Pub.L. 109-13, 119 Stat. 231, enacted 2005-05-11). This legislation was intended to deter terrorism by:...

So what about people who have recently renewed their DLs and they do not expire until after that date? Will they freeze all bank assets until the person complies? That is just too stringent IMO.

Here it is with all the warts and bumps. Didn't have the patience to edit it. I did try to capture the banner on the top deck, but I really lost it due to the sun being in front of me . But hope you enjoy this amateur video. Oh the end when she was in the ocean, she just sat there for a long while not moving. I would've stayed a bit longer but there was man sleeping on the bench next to me and I was afraid he was going to wake up and see me standing over him:rotfl:

Arlene Great Job on the Video!!!! Thanks for sharing it Pal!!

I only know a little bit of Spanish. I guess that would be, "un poco solamente"? Anyway, when we were in Cozumel I asked a fluent English speaking & very friendly store clerk to remind the way to say, "How much?" He told me, what sounded to me like "cuanto questa", but now I see it is actually cuanto ese coste. Anyway, the problem is I repeated it just like it sounded to me, "cuanto questa" at the next gift shop we went to & they started rambling away to me in Spanish, assuming I could speak the language! Needless to say, I stopped showing off after that. They all know the English version of "how much" anyway! :lmao:

I remember it as cuanto questa, too. My sister and I still remember little bits from some of the dialogs they used to teach the vocabulary back in the early 70's (we had little records we were supposed to listen to at home). I remember one had "Cuanto questan los boletos?"

You were very brave to try and ask for things in Spanish; I was always afraid I would end up asking for something illegal!

Well ¿Cuánto ese coste? is the grammatically full and correct question. ¿Cuánto cuesta? is the more informal, street version. Either way, they'll understand you. But yes, either version or "How much?" will work because the merchants understand enough English to make a sale! :teeth:

Happy Monday all. Wishing you all a great week.

The question of the day is, do I want to take a vacation day tomorrow and hit the beach? Suppose to be in the 80's on Tuesday. I need to decide by noon, so that I can tell the boss. This pastey white skin is looking pretty bad. Hmmmmm.........

So Earl won Survivor. On to the AI Finals.

Ketchup later.

Of course you do! Enjoy:)

Congrats on 1000th!!!:)

There were lots on the 2005 repo, I note the 2007 Transatlantic has Don ducky Williams on it again, he was on our 2005 repo fantastic, and we were given lots of gifts from him.!

We saw him on our Easter cruise. He is hoping to be on both PC repos. He said Disney hasn't given him any 2008 dates yet.:)

Reading about all your vacation plans have me green with envy. My big summer plans revolve around spending mornings at the YMCA's pool with the kids. DH has a conference in JAX FL in June during the last week of school but I just can't get excited about flying down to join him the day after the end of school to go to WDW. Let's see...we went to WDW in June in 2005...rain...heat...rain...crowds...rain....I think that he is disappointed that the kids didn't even jump at the opp.

So what about people who have recently renewed their DLs and they do not expire until after that date? Will they freeze all bank assets until the person complies? That is just too stringent IMO.

Not sure. I imagine there has to be some kind of phase in period. When USG started to require biometric passports they didn't require existing passports to be reissued. But since they know when passports are issued, there will come a time when all those old passports will have expired and only the new ones will be accepted.

There are so many flaws with this law--some that won't manifest themselves until much later. Remember, even if a state's DL isn't RealID compliant, other IDs will still be sufficient (passport, USG ID etc). Lots of organizations from homeless advocacy groups to the ACLU to the Electronic Frontier Foundation are pushing to get this thing killed.
