I only know a little bit of Spanish. I guess that would be, "un poco solamente"? Anyway, when we were in Cozumel I asked a fluent English speaking & very friendly store clerk to remind the way to say, "How much?" He told me, what sounded to me like "cuanto questa", but now I see it is actually cuanto ese coste. Anyway, the problem is I repeated it just like it sounded to me, "cuanto questa" at the next gift shop we went to & they started rambling away to me in Spanish, assuming I could speak the language! Needless to say, I stopped showing off after that. They all know the English version of "how much" anyway!

I remember it as cuanto questa, too. My sister and I still remember little bits from some of the dialogs they used to teach the vocabulary back in the early 70's (we had little records we were supposed to listen to at home). I remember one had "Cuanto questan los boletos?"

You were very brave to try and ask for things in Spanish; I was always afraid I would end up asking for something illegal!

Mine is a former scout, got up to Webelos but didn't move on to Boy Scouts since I knew he would struggle with middle school homework.

My scouts won't be on the TOAL.. but I have Boy Scouts.. Geoff is Life and will finish his Eagle project this spring, so by TOAL he should be Eagle. Eric is a Star.. and has several more merit badges to go..

I'm off to a Little League (sorta) double header. Two kids, two games, same time, same park, different fields. Love this single mom thing!

UGH! Thank goodness they have to be in the same location. This single mom is staying home with the kiddos this week. They are both sleeping soundly and I am able to rest my throat & voice...which was quickly disappearing as they continued to pick on each other. They took baths & went to bed. AHHHHH!!!

I had a whirlwind of a weekend, so much so that I even missed our beloved chat on Friday night! And now I have many, many days to catch up on! So I'll catch up and BRB!

I've rarely had problems with rebates. But then again, I took a page from a guy I used to work with. He's even more anal, er "detailed oriented" than I when it comes to such things: get extra printouts, if available, of the receipts (Staples is real good about that); fill out form completely and use a "throwaway" Hotmail account for the email address so as to not get spam in his mail email; cut out UPC and other labels; write "Mailed on xx/xx/xxxx" on rebate form and receipt; make copies of UPC, rebate form, extra receipt AND mailing envelope with stamp on it; keep copy of store add with rebate offer.

He does all this because he's been burned with rebates before. By employing these steps he says he's increased his rebate fullfilment greatly. He keeps the ad showing the rebeate so that if there are any problems then he goes to the store to complain! He tosses around terms like "False advertising" or "Uniform Commercial Code violation" etc and guess what? The stores just give him the rebate money on the spot because "the squeaky wheel gets the grease"!

Most of the rebate "problems" I have had as of late is not filling out the forms in time. But I have employed a solution to that problem: wait a few weeks after the purchase and then call to complain about my missing rebate check Since the rebate information isn't in their system they apologize for the SNAFU and ask that I send in copies of my rebate materials. You know, now that I think of it, I get the rebate faster with this method than if I actually wait for the proper processing time.

I scan everything & write the date scanned on the form & receipt. I prefer to do the rebates like Staples has where you can just file the info online. MUCH quicker for getting the rebate processed & mailed out.

I just want to say that if anyone is debating about watching DWTSs tonight....watch it!!!! The dancing by the 4 couples left has been fantastic tonight!!!

Right now, with this cruise as fully booked as it is, it would be nearly impossible. But....once the cruise gets closer there will be a lot of people who will cancel and then the chances for upgrading will be much better.

ITA with this, Stace. Even though we got thru at 9:10 am on 1/31 and have a room number, we didn't get the category that we had wanted. I had to take an 8 instead of a 10...but we are just greatful to be on the ship!!!

I can take it. In my 25 years of parenting, I've won the Mean Mom award more than once.

When Jordan was saying "I'll take care of it...blah blah blah...." I DID ask her who she thought was going to be cleaning up its baby tinkle while she was at school, dance and work. I just got her big brown puppy dog eyes (hers, not the pup's) looking at me.

OMG! I have YEARS of puppy eyes begging me for a dog ahead of me with DD. Not only would I be picking up after it....I would be using my inhaler constantly.
