8/17/08 Captain Jack's Repossession Repo Cruise to PC thru TPC Part 13

everyone!

I landed safe and sound on the East Coast - landed at MCO at 6:35 and was out of the airport by 7:10. Landed in my hotel room, Comfort Inn off 535 on Palm Parkway by 10 to 8. Flight was pretty good - less than 5 hrs. Takeoff was a little rocky - not too bad though - but the landing was great - didn't even tip over my bottle of water on the floor. Got bumpy a few times and when we came below cloud line but all in all - a GREAT flight!

With that said, I CANNOT BELIEVE THAT I HAVE DONE IT! For those of you that don't realize it - I talk all the time about taking off by myself but have never done it until now. I actually LOVED it! Repeating myself by I LOVED IT! And I am so proud of myself. The last time I did this was when I was traveling in the Army and moving around - then I had no qualms - traveled on a moments notice.

I checked in with everyone and forewarned them that I am no longer taking phone calls unless its an emergency. My emergency consists of blood, death, or catastrophic events. Not skinned knees, bruised egos, or missing you (well at least until Saturday).

I have been chilling out after having dinner at Shoneys - pork chops, mashed potatoes and gravy and fried dinner rolls! YUMMY! And to finish it off - Peach Cobbler! Its extremely hard to find that on my side of the coast. Tomorrow - no major plans - maybe some shopping or laying out by the pool - can't remember the last time I did that - I was supposed to do that on our last cruise and didn't do it.

Called BFF and proposed that she and I start a traditional trip like this. I feel so cool! Anyway, hope everyone has a good weekend - mine already started! Now on to ketchup!

Yeah Laura! I've been traveling alone for a good 17 years, when I took my frist road trip alone to VA. Now I have dd and I still have a blast. My co-workers think I'm crazy, but I can do what I want , when I want and don't have to worry about anyone else!

Good morning everyone. Hope to be in chat tonight. Leaving work early today to takke dd to ensemble auditions and than I realized on the way to work she has softball practice at 6 PM! So hopefully an early night tonight. It's nice and sunny here, but going to get cooler tomorrow.

I just had to post - we were #30 on the Cruise Meet thread!!!

So here is my ponderance for the morning:

With just days until the POC AWE premier (OK, weeks), and knowing that I may have to walk the plank for even suggesting this...is anyone else hoping that DMC is POC's Empire Strikes Back / Temple of Doom?

DMC was certainly better tham most movies that I have seen, but I didn't think it lived up to the original. I hope they get the magic back with this new movie (pun inended).

I know a lot of more casual POC fans didn't like DMC. Taken as a whole, Empire was a very good movie, just you needed to see the rest of the series....

I think AWE will help the revisionist history of peoples opinion of DMC.

Wow ...Glad you asked this ....

POTC COTBP was one story ...a beginning ..a middle and an end ......in DMC there was a continuation of the charcters and a new story , so there was a beginning and just a tad bit of a middle and some things that played off the first movie (cannibal Island) ....Now with POTC AWE we obviously pick up where we left off ...DMC had a lot of loose ends as it were to tie up and in AWE this will happen ..So DMC and AWE are just one story with the two put together will have a beginning a middle and an end ...Or will it ???? Watch the ending to see ....I think there be more Adventures on the Horizon for Ole witty Captain Jack ....

So go get your tickets , this will surely be the best of the three ....

Just a brief good morning to everyone - and a welcome to your pending weekend!

I'm up at an unusual hour (for me) on account of my restless 3 year old who is now napping in my arms. My spouse is away a nite and I was fending fer the two - an' the little one wakes up cryin' with no explanation. Except she wants to be carried an' fer me to "walk" with her. Any other time I might do that fer a bit except she's a little heavier now an' I'm sleepy tired. My compromises have brought me out to the computer with her in my arms. Earlier, she cried while I explained this is all I can manage an ( in brief) take it or leave it. Her cryin' back among the bedrooms was disturbing the older daughters' sleep so coming out here was my solution.

At any rate... I'm not posting much DIS mornin' as I'm going back ta try and sleep a little. Alas I couldn't resist sharing my morning with ya'all.... oh yeah... the other thing... I was just thinkin' this before I decided to share the thought was ... how beautiful my little girls tiny feet were this morning. I found myself sleepy tired - mildly stressed from wranglin' her back to sleep in my arms and just sitting here in a mild stupor before the computer as I noticed her cute feet sticking out here. Something new for the day....

So is this what we have to look forward to? Herding a bunch of little kids on field trips?! Now that I think of it, my parents never came along on school trips...

So is it kosher to give the little cree, er, urchins $20 to entertain themselves while I go shopping, grab a mohca latte and a few Krispy Kremes? uh oh, I may have to join Enna in lest those child protection folks come a'knocking.

My son's music teacher was asking for chaperones for their concert next week. Middle school age. Thank heavens she asked in an e-mail, it's much easier to say "Ain't no flippin' way!" in writing than it is face to face!!

With all the "Friends of" meetings on the cruise, we won't have time for any activities.

But maybe we can then get our health insurance to cover the cost of the "therapeutic" cruise.

It got up to 102° yesterday, supposed to be 104° today. Waaay too hot!


Today is my (troubled middle child) DD's 17th birthday. And I have no idea what we're going to do for her. She obviously didn't get the truck she wanted. I did buy her a nice gift, but compared to a truck, it isn't much.
Anyway, I hadn't planned anything, because she always has plans with the BF.
Well....her BF and his Dad left for Belize this morning for a dive trip.....thanks a lot, leave me with a ST on her birthday!
And.....my DH and son are going back up to our cabin tonight.
So that leaves me, the ST and possibly the older daughter.
And I have no idea what to do.
Talk about your terrible mothers. This one will probably put her in therapy when she's 30.

I find flying not that bad, I have done the transatlantic so many times, Orlando isnt a problem, Las Veas it did go on a bit 11 hours from UK, but on a good plane its ok.

The Med cruise is going to be the hetic one seven big ports of call in 11 nights, Sically, Naples,Olbia, Rome all in a row, after a sea day, then Pisa,Marsellies, monte carlo in a row.

Will be great to see and the Magic sets sale tommorrow to us here in Europe.
