I just stopped by the house for a quick afternoon break and found the posctards and stamps you sent, thanks so much, I know the kids will enjoy their DCL postcards.

.........ok, i'm off topics,*** cos i am so far behind that iam not
sure if that 's my hiney or someone else.................


late seating, whew, for a second or 2 , i thought we were
going to be by ourselves....having to make dooo-do with a bunch
of non-disers, or non~ believers, ,

us? we are a family of 5. but if they don't put us together with
our college sons...we can live with that, [they've their own room],
..in fact, probably make them happy....since we are sooo old
fashioned.

to present the right picture [accuracy counts], think of us as the seven
dwarfs & snow white first meal...dirty hands and all. & even more
specfically.....me> could do that scene where belle & the beast first
sat down to a formal dinner..and the noodles ended up on the beast 's
horns? .........give me a break, in my family of 10, eating slow was not
an option..be slow, & you find the others eating off your place, before
you could complained to mom..its was gone!

speakin of dieting,,,,me wife of a wench, think iam going a lil'too
far..to capture a look. what does you mateys feel?

by now, its evident i am wander ? eye! buttie, while my lil'miss cutie
isn't posting, make no doubt, what i claim is true. when you meet her,
you will like her.....as for me, here's hoping, , you have alot
of tolerance traits...

pins topic.......let me get this right....if i have soem very hard, one of
a kind ..pins....i can trade for the walt disney suit..while the majority
be sleeping on the floor? me like this trade off!


anyone remember this old saying? " man was meant to suffer as the sparks
fly upwards". i mentioned this for the late seaters...."i really hate being the
living proof of old wise tales....esp. by my own admissions. meaning on
more than one occassion, my wife claims I embrasssed her. you do
realize, 15 days is a lonnng time on a boat?

back to the story line.....ha!, i been snooping ,tell you!, over on the
dcl pictures thread... ,& the discoveries i came across ,
were like lil'treasures of info..about some of you!....

my conclusions made me think of ....all the picture together make up
a neat lil'story book, full of dcl adventures. based on the disers here,
what a wonderful family you all are~ those pictures are
revealing..the things cruisers find important. . the insights are
amazing....by allowing a newcomer { like moi }, to connect with
sharing our similarities. made me that iam not the only one.

he,he, i told you before..i take all the liberties i can.........& being a greedy

........i guess my favorites are the ones allowing me to relive our special
memories. * sometimes when i see how proud parents are of their kids'
whines & grins, they remind me of my own...esp. when our boys were
so little. & happiness = one sweet recollection. what a great
ilustration you all put together ..showing the world why disney is the
happiest place in the universe. ...sorry, but now i know what you all
about...for its like going thru your family history.

my dream for jordan.... , she dosen't know it yet, but
her family tree takes her right back ..to the piattcastles.org..

her to marry~ many,many moons/days away...silly i know, but
i always heard from my parents..you got to have a dream, before

about your dad...i still miss both of my & that's been over 20 years.


...so that where i've been, starting at the begining....some really
cute pics...like mr.v , , that's the coolest cpt. hat of
all! [you looked dashing..i bet your wife was real careful of keeping
you near by, you salty dog! ]. and...driving the ship... i saw you!
at the joystick..making all kinds of manuevers..blowing the horn.
naturally, your of a disney took over. fyi,
i feel must safer if you guys were coming...* never know when the
cpt. might get ill?

then there's lbGraves , wench? i feel like buzz, i'm good to
go! ..so if we find ourselves at teh same table...you like the strawberry
celebration desert?

again!, i find it diffcult those lil' fighting..fibbing...? remember

i do think the most magical one..was the alice pic...when she turned
her head. but the one of your son in the mickey pool...knows where
to have fun. i remember our first cruise...we could never get jordan
out of there..esp. the mickey slide.

Lii Grumpy 14 nights went sooo fast last time all over in a flash, my 7 night cruise went in a flast in 2006, I have 11 nights in a few months then the big 15 night one.

It will be here before we all know it.

I heard they changed all their plans to stay with you for the entire summer!!

It's bad enough they are coming for a week in August before we fly out to WDW.

You may laugh but today they nearly cancelled their holiday to Majorca as the holiday comapny decided to change the hotel without telling them. Only when my MiL phoned to request a low floor she found out that the hotel didn't even have a booking.

They went straight to the Travel Agents and on my advice got an upgraded hotel (4*) and £100 ($200) compensation - IN CASH !!!!!

For the first time, Orlando tourism promoters will launch a fall advertising campaign this year in the United Kingdom, a once-robust market that is now sending fewer and fewer visitors across the Atlantic to spend money in Central Florida.

Though tallies for 2006 are not yet available, visitors-bureau researchers are projecting a 2.8 percent decline in travelers from the United Kingdom last year to 1.03 million people. A 3.4 percent increase is projected for this year, to 1.07 million.

In addition to the television component, ads also will run in newspapers The Mirror and News of the World, which have a combined circulation of about 2 million.

All sounds good until I read this bit:

Discover America is pushing legislation that would provide $200 million in marketing dollars through a new visa-waiver fee charged to people from countries in which there is no visa requirement to travel to the U.S.

Now if I am reading this right that means they want to charge us, among other countries, so they can advertise for more of us to go to Orlando

Most of us used to have a "few" before we started out if we thought it was going to be that kind of party. And if cake was not served fast enough, we would go some place else to get more.

9. Do you tell yourself you can stop eating cake any time you want to, even though you over eat sometimes even when you don't mean to?
Many of us kidded ourselves into thinking that we can eat cake because we wanted to. After we came into C.A., we found out that once we started to eat cake, we couldn't stop.

10. Have you missed days of work or school because of eating cake?
Many of us admit now that we "called in sick" lots of times when the truth was that we ate too much cake.

11. Do you have "blackouts"?
A "blackout" is when we have been eating cake for hours or days which we cannot remember. When we came to C.A., we found out that this is a sure sign of cakeaholic eating.

12. Have you ever felt that your life would be better if you did not eat cake?
Many of us started to eat cake because it made life seem better, at least for a while. By the time we got into C.A., we felt trapped. We were eating cake to live and living to eat cake. We were sick and tired of being sick and tired.

All sounds good until I read this bit:

We used to go to Spain twice a year (mainland and the islands) until the price went up so much it became silly. We started comparing the price for Spain with travelling to USA and noted that not only was USA a better deal it was also a better allround experience and holiday.
Even with a fee for a visa it would have to be fairly expensive to put us off.

The only down side of USA for me is the time it takes to get there. I can get to Spain (2.25 hours) faster than it takes me to get to Wales (6.5 hours). If only they could slide the British Isles across the Atlantic a few thousand miles.......

Hi Laura! Enjoying your day of R&R in FL?

So far so good - except that DS called me at 9:45 am this am - seems he had insomnia. I'm like - What the Heck? Call me up and wake me up after I fell asleep at 4 :30 EST? (Turns out after I talked to a nurse friend of mine that the Asacol he's taking has side effects - they had to up his dosage as he's had a minor relapse) Makes me not a happy camper.

LOL then 1 hr later - the maid comes a knocking at the door - seems my DO NOT DISTURB sign fell off during the night apparantly, I didn't stick the sign between the door jamb and the handle I thought to myself, but this doesn't happen in a hotel! This will teach me not to be so .

HOWEVER - I did manage to make it to the outlet (well 1 of them in my shiny new red mustang that I rented - does that thing fly!)

Anyway, my find for the day? Easy Spirit shoes called Squadras - lightweight tennis shoes/sandal that weigh just a few ounces or as much as crocs but less bulky! And they come in colors - needed beige to round out my shoe selection for this upcoming Med cruise. We are hampered with this 40 LB weight restriction on BA. LOL When I was getting on the plane - DH hefted my luggage bag expecting it to be much heavier - he was shocked to see how lightweight it WAS! I say was as I managed to pick up a few odds and ends and even a Xmas gift or two. I'm an early shopper.

On the other hand - the computer bag weighed more than the suitcase. Ok, I am considering taking a nap as having trouble adjusting to this time zone. A friend just called and said they're in traffic but will be here as soon as they can. I am now staring out my hotel window at a beautiful for the moment still day, earlier it was blowing wind but not at the moment. I tell you - I can see why so many people retire here. Humidity is not too bad but it seems as FL has a lot of fires going on right now. HMMMM.. reminds me - does anyone know if they contained the wildfire at the Griffith Park area - any West Coasters?

Thanks - asked DH and he said - its on fire? Sweet, lovable but sometimes a little clueless (unless of course your talking, 21, poker or work)

OK going to ketchup while I still can for a while - will probably try and be on later.

For getting away - I sure haven't gotten much sleep - the pool looked nice - may have to hit that tomorrow some time!

Great minds must think alike. I was just going to call her (the oldest) because she always has great ideas. She'll make a much better mother than me someday!

Hey Stace - don't forget that your her mother - so give yourself credit (I feel that way too ) DD20 is much more maternal and soft than I am - I'm rough and decidedly not soft. If anyone is bleeding, I'm like How serious is it? If its not dripping, bandage it - your fine, if its falling off - we usually have some time but put the limb in a bucket of ice and take it to the hospital for reattachment.

As I mentioned here or elsewhere can't remember where I posted it - I am not a frilly type of person. When my hairdresser tells me to go home an poof my hair I'm like - WHAT???

HOPELESS AND CLUELESS - that I am - my excuse is that it skips a generation you know kinda how one child is 6'2" tall the other 5'1" and the other 5'4" and still growing! That last one still has about another 5 yrs to grow! She wears a size 9 1/2 shoe!

Lordy! Help me - hey this may be the reason they always tell me - TMI Mom TMI!

Anyway, good luck on your DD's b-day - hope you find something to do. Some of the best times on b-days were spur of the moment things. Although don't tell them and if they find out - slant it as you left the day open to do what they wanted to do - you know - teenagers and all? Can't plan with them - can't plan without them.

Hey Laura, Griffith Park is still burning but pretty much contained. They expect to open parts of the park tomorrow (including the zoo and the museum). Unfortunately now there's a fire on Catalina Island. So far they've kept it away from Avalon.
