Well you can just imagine how thrilled my ST was about me discussing his armpits on the DIS :lmao: :rotfl2: ........... Come on now that's funny! You know what they say kid......Pay back's a Witch! :rotfl:

Tell him not to worry 'cause you talk about your nails, your 'rhoids, your hoo-hoo doctor, your excess hair...so his armpits are pretty much a secondary thought!!

How do you like it there??? We are looking to buy property this September and build in 4 years.

We are really enjoying living in Florida. We aren't retired yet but alot of people here still work. The place is something you can't believe until you see it. There are 60,000 people living in The Villages and there will be about 100,000 when it is built out in four or five years. There is anything you can think of to do. We have two town squares (soon to be three) where there is music and dancing everynight. Unfortunately you can't buy here unless you take an already built home. Years ago you could pick your lot then build, now you just tell them what you are looking for and they take you to see homes that have what you're looking for. WE get to use our golf carts for anything. Grocery shopping, doctors appointments, restaurants, shopping (too many stores to mention), movies, bowling, etc. It all depends on what you are looking for but this place was hard to beat when we were looking. Especially since my DH is a golfer. There are over 17 nine hole courses and 6 championship courses on property. I guess I sound like a commercial but we have been here three years and are happy with our choice.

Barbara

My mother has lived there since 1988. It is amazing how much the place has grown since then. We visit the Villages often & DH & I are thinking of retiring there in about 12 years. I love the idea of just driving my golf cart wherever we want to go. Even the local police have a few golf carts. They sell golf carts that look like Model Ts, 57 Chevys, Rolls Royce, etc. My kids love the pool at the country club with the waterfalls & weekend activities. I was eating dinner at the Copper Bottom (brand new) at Town Square just a couple of weeks ago. It was so beatiful at night, the food & drink was delicious & they had all sorts of kiosks set up with arts & crafts they were selling & they had a live band playing. People walking by were saying Hi & asking how the food was. Everyone is so friendly! My sister works at McCalls which is also in Town Square. I absolutely adore The Villages!

Hello everyone.. its been a long time. I have been unable to sign on since DST.. I have been keeping well informed by my sister Karen..

Been real busy here getting ready for my daughters graduation... 24 days... We found her a place to live near her school... and I did the stupidist thing in the world and bought her a car.. Ok yell at me now..

My son is so bugy getting merit badges for his EAGLE SCOUT award.... and other then that.. I have been enjoying the warmer weather in the EAST.

Whats with this and the MAGIC bringing on WATER??? MY son figured out that they are traveling at 14.9 mph and the water temp of 74*.. any one have any more info??

Thanks
Reenie
Hi Doreen. I noticed you had been gone awhile.:)

NAH....you got the right impression! :rotfl2:

Puerto Rico & Guam

No, Puerto Rico and Guam

:scared1: :scared1: :scared1: :scared1: :scared1: :scared1:

OK, that's it...JUDY COME BAAAACCCKKKK!!!!!

and for the real geography buffs, name the other 3 US Territories

US Virgin Islands & Marianas Islands

Where is American Samoa? You may be asking. While it is a US territory it is an unorganized territory. Guam, Puerto Rico, US VI & Marianas are the only organized US territories. If you are looking for the unorganized list, it is much longer than 3. I don't know them all, but Midway & Wake Island come to mind.

Glad you enjoyed your visit. We were at McCalls last night. It is hard to explain this place if you haven't seen it. Today I went to Staples, Target, and Circuit City in my golf cart. We were lucky enough to be able to come down before retirement. DH was able to transfer to the Lowes right across the street. They have the vendors two nights a week on each of the town squares. Everyone here is really friendly. "It's a beautiful day in The Villages" is not just a sales slogan.

Next time you eat at McCalls...ask for my sister Judi. Tell her that her baby sister Diane sent you. She is a sweetie!!! ;)

Wow Doreen you must be so proud of Jaclyn. Which school did she decide on? Taryn's graduation is June 25th. How about Jaclyn's? I must admit I feeling proud and sad and nostalgic all at the same time. And being in the waiting room tonight with all the Pregos made me downright depressed about how fast time passes.

You my friends whose kids are still young....take time to enjoy each age because it goes so quickly. Now I know we all always hear that, but I'm here to tell you it is the absolute truth. And MR is nothing if not honest!! (don't you just hate it when people refer to themselves in the third person) :lmao: Seriously though cherish every moment even when they are bustin' your chops and they're on you very last nerve, because before you no it they're leaving you to go off to college.  (gee you think I'm having a rough time with this)?

Thanks Tom I'm going to get the Speed Stick and the one that Gabbie and HC mentioned too. After the weeping sores heal that is. The poor kid is freakin' out that he may not be able to wear antiperspirant. I feel sorry for him. Since he turned 14 it seems he's not too stinky a teen after all. I suspect girls have something to do with that! :lmao:

MR never have been able to wear antiprespirant. Had the same kind of thing happen when I was younger. Have had to wear deoderant ever since, which is not a bad thing. I don't smell bad just wet. :rotfl2:
