(And I wasn't the person posting pharmaceutical formulae or rocket science diagrams on the boards -- y'all saw I can't do simple math. I think 1+1 = 3 for extremely large values of 1.)

DD just returned from El Capitan Theatre. She said that she had a blast. She couldn't believe the amount of people that were dressed up.

She, of course, thought that she was a die-hard fan. To which I did this:

Saw a few stars, the vertically challenged pirate, Commodor/Capt James Norington????, and witch lady - she couldn't remember her name (Calypso??) She did said she's really tiny (and DD is only 5'1" so coming from her - this is funny ) and pretty - and speaks with an accent. Leave it to teenagers to figure something like that out.

On the other she came homne with a nice plastic badge and a nice souvenir map???? of some prop used in the movie. She also won a raffle of 2 blue-ray movie of POC 1 & 2 but was bullied into giving them to the person we bought the tickets from. I swear - sometimes that girl need to grow a backbone. Oh well, she enjoyed herself after being gone all day. Came home with 2 buckets 'cuz she liked them. And then proceeded to explain the whole movie to me which I will not ruin for anyone.

Said that when she came out - there was already a line for the midnight showing. DS will be going to the Block in Orange at midnight to catch it too.

Well, that's all for now as the boards will probably close soon.

The airfare was the vacation killer for us too......although I did finally find some less than 900. But not happening this year.

Plus two of our passports expired and we need a new one for the youngest child. Not to say this is an insurmountable obstacle - just that's another bump on the road.

Really, I hate to say this but we're just a little tired from the last weekend of travel to be thinking of planning a cruise for Europe in another 60. Plus... even though my spouse has the vacation days - and since the health crisis in the family appears over for now - we still are not really ready to committ. Besides, we already have 2 weeks set and paid for to Hawaii in early August... and we have concert tix sprinkled from July to September - and swim team - and gymnastics - and I need to brush my teeth in front of my own mirror... <chuckles>...

I just don't have enough crazyness in my heart right now. It's been a exhausting day today. Nice but I'm tired... not sleepy tired ... just tired. I think I'll go get a snack - I think I have not had dinner yet... have I? Oh yeah... I have not had dinner yet. The kids been running me ragged tonight... hide and go seek... earlier a jedi battle with ME getting chopped to ribbons... then hide and go seek with a pink teddy bear... I took the kids to dinner alone to give the spouse a little quiet time to run her errands - and I went grocery shopping with the little ones.

Excuse me while I go to whip up something to eat....

I hope your $1 a gallon promo went well... It sounds like an effective promotion - however - were you trying to build traffic or recognition - good will - or were you running it in conjunction with a radio station? When we were in Vegas they ran 2 "free gas" promos on Friday the 13th. They had the 1st 50 at one station and the 1st 100 at another get a certain amount of gas. I don't recall how much but I think it was something on the order of 10 free gallons per car. They announced the station locations over the radio and the lines maxed out in under 30minutes from what they said on the radio. What a hoot eh?

I'm hungry ... gotta go for a moment now.... I'll be up for a while munching and possibly catching one of those shows that are not "appropriate" for young minds... I wonder where my Aliens DVDs are? Oh... here comes my trusty canine companion to settle down with me - he must have read my mind about getting a late nite snack!

Yes, I did! I thought it was worth it, my 14YO son encouraged me to stay; my sister who needs to get up at 5AM for work was not too pleased!

Right now I am pushing my 16YO son along; I think he's going to be running for homeroom!

No, I am not in the office today. I'm in my pj's with a cup of coffee. It's a well deserved vacation day today. I'm off the the beach for the day. Sailing tomorrow and Sunday and Monday are still TBD.

I drove past the local multi-plax last night. OMG I have never seen it so crowded! What was going on??????? I'll probably catch POC sometime this weekend.

We had walked out and all of a sudden I said OH NO so I went back in DH took the kids out to the car and I waited, and waited, and waited. Had to be the longest credits on a movie in history. Then I recorded it on my cell for DH and a friend that had met us at the theatre.

Loved the movie.....

Our town is lame...DH and i were the only ones dressed up....(He almost made me walk the plank.)

You know that dream where you leave your house and then discover later on that you have no clothes on......

(Dh would rather have picked no clothes over his pirate ensemble.)
