Well it is midnight now and I'm wiped out. We are going up to PA this weekend so I will miss chat. :sad2:

Hope everyone gets out to see the movie this weekend so we can discuss without giving anything away.

Paula - Thanks for noticing that Laura & I were talking about 2 different cruises - talk about feelng rather silly!!!! This will be my first trip in a LONG time that didn't include either my kids or my grandkids!! It's unfortunate my DH can't go - but he insisted I go. Ya, he is wonderful!

Glad I could help. That is wonderful that your DH doesn't mind you going. I am sure you will have a great time. Make sure you post a lot of pictures when you get back.:)

ANd the lowest priced deal was briefly posted as India Air at near $1100pp...

I've flown them. Not too bad. Though it was a domestic (within India) flight. Food was local - which was intereting - Indian airline food.

Definitely not so bad as Aeroflot. :scared1: I had to keep reminding myself that the pilots were not dead yet, therefore it was likely we would arrive safely.

What are your plans for the holiday weekend?

Dog Show, Dog Show, Gardening. No movies.

Time for me to go now...

... got a hot lunch with my sweetheart of 23-24 years... so before I go I found a little PUZZLE for anyone who is interested...

.... without looking at a real penny... from your MEMORY alone ... which of these pennies below are correct? Can you select the complete and corrent image????

I got it right! I got it right? What other sort of useless trivia is banging around in my head??

I worked at a Five & Dime in High School and to this day I put all my dollar bills face up and facing the same direction......

Pacific Science Center cashier - ME TOO!! :lmao:

Wicked Witch of the East - family sues for wrongful death, lawsuit goes nowhere because Munchkins aren't reliable witnesses what with all that singing and dancing

Wicked Witch of the West - family sues for wrongful death, lawsuit goes nowhere when it's discovered she wasn't paying Social Security on her domestic servant

Dorothy - Authorities try to hunt down the homeless illlegal alien serial killing witch-hater but she escapes to a non-extridiction territory

Lion - committed to an institution for the criminally insane (he killed the giant spider)

The Tin Woodman - enlessly persecuted by environmentalists for his participation in deforestation and clear-cutting

The Scarecrow - becomes a public high school principal prompting a wave of homeschooled kids

:lmao: :rotfl2: :lmao: :rotfl2:

pirate: pirate: pirate: pirate:
What's a pirate's favourite weapon?
pirate: pirate: pirate: pirate:
A daggAAARRRRRR!!
pirate: pirate: pirate: pirate:

Funny. I thought it was a sword, well protected. :rolleyes1

So where is the smilie hitting the other smilie over the head for Laura?

Is that just for me?

Now I feel special.

You will probably find the answer in your pockets, not in your mind.

in reality, does anyone need to know exactly what the face of a penny looks like? We can probably survive without knowing it. Our attention and memory are selective.

<chuckles>

TTFN!

I got it right! I got it right? What other sort of useless trivia is banging around in my head??

<chuckles>

That WAS the original objective here....

I'm just amazed that everyone has been holding thier tongue, I expected at least one "JR and Tom can play the flying monkeys" comment..... :lmao:

Whoa, leave me out of this dude. If you want to be a flying monkey, go right on ahead, but after tonight, I want to keep my feet on the ground. I left my meeting in Boston at 3:15PM and it is now 12:38AM in Chicago and I just got home and am trying to unwind.

JR just figures that hes so far ahead of himself that you should have known that he would be posting in the future some crazy explaination of how his incredibly incorrect answer/comment/musing was somehow correct....:lmao:

Now, I readily admitted it was wrong. Like I said, my fingers (and mouth) often get ahead of my brain.

OK...

... here I am playing hide and go seek in the house with the kids... and now we've just about exhausted Dad... so now we're playing hide and go seek with an old teddy bear. He's easier to hide and there's less running around the house...

... :thumbsup2

I have some of those coins at my house.....want me to skip them back across the pond to you??

Drat. You just reminded me I was going to give my left over sterling to a colleague of mind from the UK who was in the same meetings with me in Boston since I didn't exchange it before leaving the UK when I was there in March. It was in my laptop bag and I forgot all about it.

Ahoy there mateys . . .

Sorry I have been so scarce . . .so how how is everyone doing?? We've been baseball fanatics again . . .LOL Seems to happen every spring. I love it until about June and then begin to burn out . . . two kids on two teams with rain outs and reschedules .. . even one double header so far this year. Tomorrow we head for Nags Head for a relaxing five days frying in the sun. No rain forecast. Nothing to do . . .:hourglass

What are your plans for the holiday weekend?

Hi Theresa we have missed you. Sounds like the baseball is keeping you busy. Enjoy your holiday weekend.:)

Not them, HIM

First you make fun of my math skills then you claim I could post a formula for bending the space-time continuum? Make up your mind, either I am a super (evil) genius or a simpleton.

(And I wasn't the person posting pharmaceutical formulae or rocket science diagrams on the boards -- y'all saw I can't do simple math. I think 1+1 = 3 for extremely large values of 1.)

OK...

it's 8:10 PM and we decided AGAIN not to do a Med sailing. We figured we might in mid July and it's only $5680 or so for DCL in a cat 12 guarantee... however the airfare would run us near $9000 on United (our preferred carrier). ANd the lowest priced deal was briefly posted as India Air at near $1100pp... which was acceptable except we don't really want to fly that airline - and we needed to evaluate the whole thing a little more before we bought ... and now it is $1600 for the lowest priced airlines going within 6 days of embarkation and returning within 3 days of debarkation. SO, my spouse came home and we concluded that it's OK to pass on it - for the same reasons we passed originally. We need to defer til we travel with family and the kids get a little older. Cost is about right if not slightly cheap compared to other lines for a similar voyage... but the air fare is nothing special at $1600-2000pp. Frankly, we've had air fares to the UK and Paris under $8 in the past .... so these numbers seem just a bit high on the air. Plus - we would like to use some FF miles on the air to save a little cash - and clearly we cannot with less than 2 months to go!

So - no, we're not gonna do it. :confused3

The airfare was the vacation killer for us too......although I did finally find some less than 900. But not happening this year.:)

Paris! We will have 5 days in Paris near the Tour Eiffel and 5 more at DL Paris. We had planned this already for the 10 days following getting off the 10 day cruise on Aug 18, so just had to change the dates. What's more, I checked my reservations tonight and it looks like we got secret porthole rooms for both cruises . . . I am feeling very lucky tonight.

:goodvibes :goodvibes
